President Donald Trump and president Putin don't have respect for democracy

If there is a man who don't have respect for democracy that man is Donald Trump. He invades other countries at will and that is a bad signal for other president coming after them. There is no difference between him and president Putin of Russia who invaded Ukraine. Now my question is, are these two really democrats or a problem to world?

Your mistake is thinking that democracy is a perfect system that everyone should adhere by; when in reality, your vote does not matter to the political class because they already have the power to rule over you whether you want it or not.

At most those in Africa and Nigeria I'd say, what we need has got to be a patriotic dictator and nationalist who has the interest of his country and his people. Every US president does something like this when their debt is ballooning. They have to do an act of action to make their business booming and reduce that debt. From the oils, to data, to arms and weapons, they know how to make business. While we've been taught that democracy that is freedom. This all leads to these actions to attack territories or trying to play hero for other nations. I'm against the wars, whether the leader is good or not, if it's affecting a lot of innocent lives, that's too much for democracy.

The only reason it is moving towards the Russian border proper is because Hungry, Poland et al left the sphere of Russian influence in 1989 to stand their own as fully independent Sovereign nations. Because they rightly feared Russia would eventually want to take them back is why they joined NATO.

So NATO is not like a shield for them against Russia and that was why they deliberately joined NATO. The fact still remains that Russia is still a strong region and can do anything they want to those countries that split from them. Those countries reasons were very clear and they can’t be blamed since it was done out of fear. But now, Russia can’t allow an enemy nation or a friend to an enemy nation build bases close to them, they won’t have secrecy again and that will really affect their strength as the strong country they’ve always been. What's wrong with preaching bout it?! Not all Africans think that way though, and for those who do, what do you expect, when all you see being taught in school has got to do with the Western democracy and empire. We suffered from that but it took us reading, relearning and unlearning to see the truth. Our African political representatives are not nationalist and patriots,  they're bunch of donuts executing western policies.

Look at Burkina Faso Ibrahim Traore,  it's just two years, have you not seen enough?! How about Mali and Niger?! That is the real definition of patriotic dictators. That is exactly what we need in Nigeria!! We need to halt that western supremacy on Africa and Africans.

You just got my attention, and sincerely, your description is beautiful. Democracy is an illusion. Just talks, theories, but never playing out. If there was real democracy, and is playing out, millions of wrongs in government wouldn't be happening at all. But here we are, accepting everything even though we don't want it, and sometimes, we can't really do anything to change it, and what else, we moan and think and just live. Where am from, Democracy I believe is a story of the ancestors, just as they no longer exists and we only see them in old framed pictures is possible, so it is. Our democracy is dead and we only get to learn about it in books at college, while we live totally different from it. Our leaders, just like super dictators, leading in absolute tyranny and evil. Trump and Putin are acting with full Democracy in mind.

Wake up and see that Democracy simply means that the people hand the control of government over to others who they choose. Then the winners of the vote do what they want with government. The thing that Trump and Putin can't do is make everybody happy.

Why can't Trump or Putin make everybody happy? Because everybody - even the members of the voting group that got them elected - all think differently, and want them to do different things, often things that are opposed among the members of the same voting group. This leaves the leaders (Trump and Putin) democratically free to do whatever they want.

If anybody wants Democracy to work according to certain, direct points, winning a position has to become a contract between the people, and Trump and Putin. And because the US and Russia are so large, those who are elected must have a strong penalty when they don't fulfill the contract... a penalty like execution.

If this isn't done, Democracy is just another form of Dictatorship, except that in this case, the people vote the Dictatorship in. Then they call it Democracy because they got to vote for their own Dictatorship.

Your Causational and Correlation don't match. Having respect to democracy is a different thing than starting wars.
The choices they made could still be popular to their people even though we might not like it. If it weren't they might have been impeached or thrown away in a revolution.

The dispute between Russia and Ukraine is a territorial dispute, totally different from what Trump and Israel has agreed to do against Iran. Iran should be left to appoint a new leader, revolutionaries to do the job not another country dictating for them. I am not from the past, but according to history, I don't think there was democracy either. We had kingdoms, chiefdoms, monarchies, empires...you name it, and you know exactly what happens in such setups. Nothing close to the utopian democracy that we keep singing about.

Some of the world, mostly the West, says that the Black Sea Corridor is part of Ukraine. But it was Russia before 1991. So, how did it become Ukraine? By agreement that the West would not advance eastward if Russia shut the USSR down.

Russia fulfilled its part. But the West kept moving towards Russia to take Russia and make it their own. Russia finally got fed up with the lies of the West, and took their land back.

I thought our elders and leaders said democracy is the power of the people, by the people and for the people but every day I see many reasons why I should vehemently disagree with such statements and read it in the otherwise. Democracy cannot be the power of the masses when it is still the same masses that suffer the damages caused by democracy the most. Democracy which’s practiced today across the world is nothing other than an autocratic system of rulership to me where it is only one class of people who are at the very top level of the system that actually controls and make the decisions for all. You don’t even have an opinion talk more of a voice to add up to the practices of democracy today and even when people try to protest which is one means made available by democracy for people to air their grievances, it is short down by the government and giving a different narrative through the media in favor of their selfish interests and agendas.
