Civilian job or military service?

Don't go killing for it.

I also like to have a pension but right now, I have to work for it before getting one when I get older. So, the best choice for me is to have a regular job while saving for my future when I can no longer work.

I don't also like to get into a military job although it's very tempting and lucrative for someone who wants to have the best benefits.

But I am seeing a lot of veterans that become homeless, I'm not sure if it's with the benefits or their spending habits.

Given these two options, I would choose a civilian job.

Why?
In my country, civilian jobs sometimes offer higher salaries and benefits than the military, with lower risk and more relaxed work. Moreover in the centra government, wow, so many ways to have tour and trip 

It's truly sad to see our military personnel receive such low salaries with such high risks.

Military service is a very risky job. I know that there are good financial benefits of joining the military. Serving your fatherland during wars is a honour many people want to partake in. Serving and ex servicemen also enjoy uncommon respect in the society. In my country even their family members enjoy some benefits.

However, I will not join the military because I am against war. The pain of losing a family member is unbearable. I will prefer to look for regular jobs even if the pay is low.

It would definitely depend on the person because I know that if you went to military service, there would be some psychological trauma that would affect your psyche and would be hard to fight over. That's one mental health impact.

Sometimes people have a hard time after the service. It's part of the struggles that I see in documentaries. The transitioning to civilian wor or something. It's going to be hard as well.

I'm in a civilian job, so that I would stick to that.

Personally, I prefer a permanent job because at least we can continue to earn money, even though the reality may not live up to expectations due to the low salary. Joining the military signifies a higher sense of patriotism and perhaps a desire to be part of a unified force. It's not just about the money, but also about serving the country through the duties assigned to us in the military unit. I don't particularly enjoy that profession, so I prefer to start a small business with considered risks and I'm currently more comfortable starting my own business.

Some people may have different views when faced with this choice and in my country, joining the military is not easy because it requires a long selection process. Military service is not for everyone because people who join it must also have a strong physique, so in the selection process we may see a person's abilities whether or not it is worth joining.

In my country, the military men are not enjoying any benefit at all in fact, they are suffering in my country. They don’t pay them well and they don’t even care about them and because of that I lost interest to join the military. when I was growing up I loved  military so much and I wanted to join the military, but seen the Way soldiers are been treated in my country I decided not to join at all, with my country experience I would prefer civilian job.
With the way the United States are treating there military personnel and I’m from the United States I would have joined the military because I love the job.

It seems you like the military but you re scared of joining them because of fear that you might be posted to fight terrorists. If you want to join the military then you shouldn't be afraid of war because that's the primary duty of the military to combat terrorists and fight wars. By joining the military the ownership of your life belongs to the government and the people who you are train to protect. In my country soldiers who are station to fight terrorists are receiving low pay and poor welfare but they still fight because of love for their country. If you are scared of joining the army because you don't want to fight wars then it means you don't love your own country.

The military is not for everyone, yes we know, not everyone is fit and strong enough to undergo its training alone, talk more of having the mind to be on a battlefield, risking their lives for the nation.

The US military, as you made mention of it, most people would love to consider it as what they will join for the pay, but the military training is something else that most people don't pass. They fail in most of the training because the training is full of high intensity which can cause you to lose your whole being in the training ground

Even as I will always choose military over, Jobs it totally depends on the country I'm going to serve, there are some countries that I will choose jobs over military, while there are some countries I will choose military over Jobs,I do feel it depends on the country.

I will have to settle for a civilian job. I have never seen myself as a military person. While growing up I wasn't close to a military person so that passion for military service has never been there. Most people that I know that are in the military work today had one relative who they were close to in the military while growing up. Second reason why I will reject military work is their constant redeployment to different regions.  I'm a person who has always want to settle at a particular area or region. The idea of moving from one place to another over a certain period of time doesn't interest me, and military personnel are known for their movements from one region to another.

If I where to choose by the country I live in, a regular job will be far better than military Job. It's unfortunate, that the government over here don't appreciate our security personnel enough, which has resulted to massive corruption across all security sectors. And even if it's a military job from the United States, I still won't pick it because of how fucked up the world is already, as leaders keeps using those who voluntarily decided to serve their country, for their own personal interest. I'm just one of those who is completely sick and tired wars or situations that demands killings. A regular job is certainly not an option for me.

In my opinion, if your country is at war and you are a patriot, choose a career in the military. Besides the guaranteed salary, being a soldier in a war-torn country provides a highly respected position in society. You will earn great respect from your community. Being a soldier also guarantees a home and a monthly income until retirement. I find being a soldier quite appealing. You just have to pray for a long life and protect yourself from enemy bullets. Being a soldier in a country at war and with economic uncertainty is an excellent job.

The reason why most people will prefer civilian job is because having a job like this,  their are things you can engage that will be of good benefit foe you. While the military service is one that you must be dedicate to make sure you protect life and properties and the military are always occupied. Some people will prefer the military service and some will prefer to choose civilian job because they think they can do other things that can generate money for them .

The both type of job have their different benefits, working in the military has this benefit of the government taking care of you and your family but then it also has a disadvantage of you losing your life in the war front. To work in the military it will have to depend on the country that we are talking about because you can't expect me to work in the military of a third world country that has no regards for my human life or that of my family. In the US if I'm to work for the military I know that the government will take care of my family if anything is to happen to me while on the duty front but working in a country like North Korea or other countries that do not regard their military officer my life will just go like that and my family will have to suffer for the rest of their life.

Being a civilian I will get to enjoy the benefit of not being in the war front I will get to enjoy other civilian benefits like starting my own company or  working for a business that gives me benefit and healthcare and my family can be taken care of but then the pay may not be the same as the military.

This choice to this selection would greatly depend on the country the individual haila from. No young man or woman wants to join a military force that is not well taken care of, and whose family would be forgotten with no better financial support for on the death of the personnel in active service.

I think I'm such a state every young person would want to be gainly employed in a regular job than being enlisted in the military. It's really saddens me how one could risk his life in defence of his country and in the event of loss of life, his family wouldn't get the benefit they deserve for their patriarch sacrifice, it rather gets embezzled by other top military personnel sitting in AC cooling office littering orders and commands around.

Well I'm not cut out for such kind of job like being a military. I believe some people are destined for it as they desire it while some have it as their last option for survival and to protect their family against aggressors or trespassers. But for me, I won't consider being in the military for anything. I don't like to intentionally put my life in danger of death. Surely everyone will die but to intentionally volunteer myself for such "wilful" death is not want I will consider. There are some countries that have high level of insecurities and in such countries, being in the military is wilful death sort of especially when the military force is not well equipped and are compromised. However, there are some countries that there military is less in death rate and are well taken care o, the risk of wilful death like US.

I can imagine your level or phobia for military all for the sake that you don't want to risk your life for military service. You don't even exaggerate if it's worth it fighting the people or not. You should probably consider a country like Unite States who actually values and appreciates their military personnels giving them the courage to never to give up the fight against their enemies.
Indeed everyone doesn't have to be in the military because there're qualities in individuals which determines their faiths.
I can see that you're just focused on death like it's not what could happen to anyone unexpectedly.
Well civil jobs are also good while comfortability and safety is an utmost concern of everyone.

There are people that would actually pick serving in the military but not in a continent like Africa where soldiers are not appreciated and also being underpaid. personally I'm not even going to do that because it would be a waste of time. Using Nigeria as example, with the system of the government and seeing how soldiers are being underpaid by the government no one would prefer military service in that case. Working a civilian job is better because you are not worried about your safety and that of others as well

I would choose to take a permanent job, even though my family would probably be proud if I joined the military because it is a prestigious national duty, so I would be serving my country, but if I had to choose, I would choose to take a permanent job.

What I think is that I have enough income and have time for everything, whether it's time for myself or my family and friends. As far as I know, once you join the military, it will be difficult to meet with your family. Even though I understand the reason, I would not choose it.

I am glad that when you talked of the benefits, you mentioned US, because its not like that in my countrt, so i will never consider joining the military in my country. I also want to point out that its a personal thing and a career you want for yourself. I would have really loved to have a career in the military, but like i mentioned i will not do that in my country,  because i dont think the risk is worth the benefit, so i will rather go for a civilian job.

If you live in a country with a well-developed economy and strong social programs, I think a regular civilian job would be more preferable especially now, when there are many military conflicts and military service is not as simple as it may seem. You can suffer serious injuries or even lose your life there. And if you’re considering military service mainly because of the social benefits, I don’t know you could look at other professions, for example becoming a firefighter, where they also receive strong social support and benefits.
