im SOLOMINING, not ypooling
do you know whats orphan means?

a child that grow up without fathers?

lol kid!you dont even know what is the meaning of orphan .Let me tell you what happened there:you found a block when trying to solo at the same time or 5-10sec later a huge farm of pool find the same block and guess what your coins are transfered to them and you have 0 coins.Having 16-19 connections wont help you its pure luck cappish kido? Now go and cry@ypool not here

thanks elder ozzy, danke, gracias, gratze, arigato

PS: what happened to the mother of the orpaned block? did she escape with ypoolers too?

@mafostedu I had the same problem with the Sapphire R9 290 280 (Non-X) throttling.  I had to mod the bios and increase the power limit to 50%.  Look at your reported core clock and I bet it is not holding your specified value.  I have three R9 290 280(Non-X) running at +50% power limit and core of 1150 MHz with no problems for a few weeks now.

With which version of BIOS ? What's your Estimated CPD with 1150 core ?

I modified my original bios using gpuz, VBE7, and atiwinflash.  I mistyped earlier I have three R9 280 (Non-X), they produce 6.4 CPD each with v10.1.

Oops, well then it's a different card. I have one 280x running at 1170/1500 & produces 7.x CPD without flashing bios or anything. Though yours is a non-X may be you can achieve CPD 6.2 or something without any change in bios & since I look mining as a long term prospectus, it's not advisable to do anything which could void your warranty of at least 3 years for just 5-10% increase in performance. Just IMHO.

WTF is going on? I found two blocks, they were valid, and on my primecoin wallet there is no XPM...

I was monitoring my screen, saw the Primecoin qt wallet showing the "Primecoin MINE received", the XPM were credited to my wallet and 5 seconds later the whole transacction including ID dissapeared... on CLAYMORE miner is showing 2 valid/ total block found

WTF???

My Primecoin wallet have 8 connections.... i have the port 9911 (Primecoin port) opened and forwarded on my router and on windows firewall, still i cant get more connections....

Is the low incoming connection to my Primecoin wallet client the problem? Are this orphaned blocks or what?

It's okay to have 2-3% orphaned blocks. Check ypool, they have it too. But if you have 2 orphaned blocks in a row, something wrong on your side. It means that it takes too much time to propagate your blocks. Is your internet connection okay? May be just bad luck.

Actually, 8 connections should be okay. I'm not an expert but a lot of people say that. By default primecoin wallet (or any other wallet for that matter) actively establishes 8  outgoing connections and accepts as much incoming connections as it gets.

Why do you think so? I'm busy with other miners but I still have ideas for XPM miner speedup. Next update will be available in several days.

Please read Readme and FAQ in the first post of this thread before asking any questions, probably the answer is already there.

No word or updates in this thread for quite some time.
But if you say there's an update soon... okai, so long as it's proportional to the decrease in price :p

I remember Smiley But I meant several days, not 2-3 days, it's something like a week or so.
