Your case of discipline and self-awareness as far as gambling is concerned is very valid. Most gamblers are sure that they can easily manage themselves, however, when emotions are involved, it becomes difficult to follow limits. Watching other people win or attempts to recoup some of the money lost usually motivate individuals to keep playing even after they had set a time or budget limit. This is the reason why time limit is not sufficient but the consistency in adhering to a time limit is what counts. Discipline in any field of life just like any other field is developed over time through patience and practice. Gamblers who are conditioned to stop at the right time and restrain emotions have very slim chances of getting into irresponsible gambling habits.
This is very true. I got to understand that adhering to those limits and budgets is usually the biggest challenge for most gamblers. I mean anyone can just wake up one morning and set certain limits and budgets for themselves, and sometimes they can actually observe these rules a few times, maybe a day or two but whenever the going gets tough, they fall so easily like they never had any rules at first. But the good news is that this doesn’t automatically mean the gambler is addicted already, because with consistency they could actually master control.

Gambling is for fun, and when gambling, it is good you also gamble with what you can afford to lose because that is the only guarantee you have to not get emotional if a loss is recorded.

If you can, have a plan for your gambling time and make sure to follow it accordingly, as you have written, it could help you be disciplined while playing games, and that would also put your gambling activities in check.

I understand this situation so well. Many years ago, I won a fairly large sum playing slots at a casino. Moreover, they had a monthly ticket raffle, and I had a lot of them. So, I won big in that contest, too. I should have stopped and had a little fun, but the next day I went back to play, hoping to hit the jackpot. A few hours later, I left empty-handed. How I felt then for my recklessness. For days on end, I reproached myself for this action and replayed in my head all the things I could have afforded.
The brain goes back to starting to think straight immediately the wallet gets empty. This has always been a regular experience for most gamblers: when the money is theirs, which was just recently won from gambling, the only thing which you will ever be thinking of is how to play more and try to increase the amount until it all goes down. Then you will realise there are some bills left unpaid which the money could have sorted out, or there is a thing or two which needs to be invested in, etc. The good thing in most such cases is the person might learn, but some still usually don't learn from it.

You are absolutely correct and that mindset or will I call it spirit or force because each time something like this happens sometimes our mind won't remember that gambling is a game of luck and that someone can loss everything in a matter of seconds or minutes and untill they loss their money they won't remember they were supposed to stop and go home or away with the profit they made. The Force is always strong and it takes only a disciplined gambler to stop after making a lot of profit.

Learning how to quit is one of the most significant gambling skills. The same happens to many players: they win a good amount of money, get a feeling of confidence and start playing hoping that they will win even more. The problem is that such an attitude usually contributes to the loss of all that they have acquired before. Once one becomes excited because of winning, it becomes hard to think sensibly. When the money goes lost, several gamblers will then begin to think of the things that they might have done with their winning. This is the reason why it is quite important to fix a time and profit limit before playing. A disciplined gambler realizes that it is a win taking away profit and he/she will regret pursuing large wins.

Initially, everyone tries to win in gambling. But if someone wants to win in gambling or wants to keep the winning, then he must have the ability to quit gambling otherwise he will never be able to win in gambling for a long time. To win in gambling, one should have the mentality of quitting from gambling. There are some gamblers who try to continue gambling more when they win and even if they lose, they cannot get away from gambling because they keep trying again and again. In such a situation, a gambler should set a time limitation. Whether it is a win or a loss, if the gambler sets a time, then he will definitely be able to do something good from gambling.

Actually, when I gamble, I don't limit myself to a specific time frame, but I have a specific budget, a daily budget and a monthly budget. I never exceed that. This is completely applicable in case of losses but when I win I try to cash out as soon as possible. It is not like I have a target that if I make 50% or 200% profit today I will get out, if my profit amount is 10% I cash out and get out.

Because the fact that I won already gave me a lot of joy, so I fully utilized it and cashed out my entire amount and didn't play again for that day.
The same way I handle gambling whenever the option to get out is near, I don't have to be greedy, I just make sure the amount to get out with is bigger than the amount I stake with no matter the difference, the happiness of getting something out of nothing is my perfect priority. It's been long gambling actually pays, so the little opportunity I could grab, I took it immediately without thinking twice.

IMHO, no matter how long your time limit is for as long as it's not going to affect you and cause others harm there's no problem with it. One hour, two hours or even more as long as that time you're allocating to gamble is your spare or you dedicate that to it. That won't be a big problem because you've planned that. And you're willing to spend that time of yours to be in there and you know that you're still in control emotionally, and don't be like others who became greedy and went beyond their limits and controls which resulted to a regret that they know it's their mistake of doing those decisions.

It is true that gambling consistently with a budget and boundaries is really challenging. However, gamblers who can gamble with a budget and boundaries can stay in the gambling game for a long time and, regardless of the outcome of the gamble, can control their greed and limit themselves to what they can afford. This will protect themselves from the risk of losing too much money, so the possibility of losing money will be relatively low, and a gambler can gamble for a long time by following the right rules, which will allow them to maintain self-control and reduce the Possibilityof addiction.

It's very intelligent to think that for any activity we really enjoy, we should have a limit That limit tells us how far we can go and what the consequences are when we cross it.

When we're in a casino, what we risk most is money, and that's delicate there are people who kill for money, and not just for a lot of money. Many things could be done to prevent this, and the easiest is to control the money we spend.

I also concur that it is easy to set time limit in gambling but it is difficult to adhere to it in the long run. Most gamblers would begin with a set of rules on the amount of time they should play or how much money they can use, but they tend to be affected by their emotions as soon as the game commences. The urge to play again and win the money that was lost is overwhelming when a person is faced with losses. Conversely, watching others win may also cause an individual to continue playing more than intended. This is the reason why discipline and self-control are quite essential in gambling. An individual who respects time and budget constraint is an example of a gambler who will minimise the risks incurred and become a habitual gambler in the long run.

For me, it's easy to trust a platform that has players who are active on the forum and have left reviews, as well as an active thread where you can read everything they say. That's enough for me. And if they have comments from recognized members with a DT1 or DT2 rank, even better, That's enough for me to trust it, as well as the casino having a signature campaign managed by a recognized forum manager.
