Who are you in gambling (winner or loser)?

Are questions like this necessary? I'm pretty sure that 98% of gamblers lose. Even if we hit the jackpot or massive win once or twice, I'm pretty sure we still lose overall.

Either way, gamblers have very different playing styles and those in profit do something particular that can’t just be replicated and everyone will be equally in profit. We all have our differences but one thing is for sure correct, most have lost at least once.

I don't think anyone could really quantify their wins and losses in monetary terms. It's just impossible unless you are keeping track of it in a logbook or something.

You know that in the long-term, it's always going to be the house who would win just because of the house edge. It's a guarantee for them and guarantee long-term lose streak for players.

Personally, I think I'm a loser for the total wins compared to losses. That's why I don't gamble as much anymore because I don't want to deal with the gambler's fallacy anymore.

The most important thing isn't whether you have losses or gains, it's knowing how to control your own game. You don't necessarily have to do it just for fun, because even if you play just for fun you still need to have control, but I think most players don't have a specific playing style. I think sometimes we can play for fun and the next day be playing for money, just as there are times when losses matter less to us.

I think I am still a loser despite winning 3 max wins in different slot games. In sports, I didn't lose much, but I also think I am still in losses there.

It's difficult to calculate because I stopped making a spreadsheet due to being lazy in registering all the bets or deposits that I made. I've done it before, and for me, it's extra work while I have the house jobs and a work-from-home setup.
Still, I consider myself a winner because somehow I bought some items during those wins that I experienced. Before I even spent them all in gambling again, I bought some items that would make me stop gambling for a week or more, and I do believe it was worth it.

Many gamblers are on the loser side, only few a on the winning side. But that shouldn’t be any big deal right? I mean, gamblers are meant to lose more than they win right? That’s just the way it should be according to the house edge. The goal of gambling isn’t to completely eliminate losses or up the wins so it’ll be more than the losses. No, the goal is to avoid incurring unintended losses, even if the ratio isn’t balanced, even if you can’t totally avoid losses, just try as much as you can to avoid losing more than you initially planned.

Frankly speaking, I can say that I am in the middle, however, in reality, I am likely to be on the losing side as well, albeit slightly. There will always be the house advantage and eventually it works its way. As with you, I believe that monitoring costs is highly necessary since it will allow gambling to remain in the arena of entertainment rather than becoming a financial issue. In my case, I would not care to win the casino but control my bankroll and practice no emotional decisions. I think that is a responsible method of gambling as long as I do not lose more than I had intended to and I enjoy the process.

In this poll, I don't mean the number of wins and losses, but rather how much you earned or lost (expressed in money).

My goal in gambling is not to make money. Although I will definitely be happy if I get money. Moreover, even if everyone gambles for fun, they love to make money. I know that I am not the lucky person who will win big through gambling but I enjoy the excitement very much that is why I like to continue gambling even if I lose. In my long gambling experience, there are wins as well as losses, but the amount of wins is definitely not more than the losses. Even if I lose in gambling, I do not quit gambling. Maybe I can take a temporary break but I will definitely do what I like. The moment of placing a bet is the most enjoyable time for me.

That's right, you should be able to have a general estimate of your wins or losses. For me, I cannot give a concrete state of my gambling financial standing since I gamble at different casinos. The only way I could get concrete figures was by calculating all my deposits and withdrawals on these platforms. Maybe I can conclude that I am neither losing nor making a significant profit. I am just enjoying myself using a small part of my income.

Majority of gambler will fall in this category if they are to compare there winning to losses. However this won't be same for casino owners, if they are to compare there winning ratio to losing. I believe that you are both not taking gambling in its realistic sense. Although we gamble to have fun, it is still necessary to have some understanding whether we are losing or winning. The short term performance is a false indicator since variance is a major factor and thus it can take only one good year or one bad year to determine everything. Similar to what you mentioned, it is difficult to monitor your true standing when gambling on various platforms unless you do some calculations of sums deposited and withdrawn. Most of us, personally, I believe, are informal long-run losers, since we are at a disadvantage in the house, but assuming we are gambling within our means and decisively, that is what counts.

I've never kept accurate counts, but I'm almost certain I'm a losing player, though probably close to zero. Nevertheless, I've started betting less and reduced my bet size. I've simply decided that until I find a good strategy, I won't bet more. And I can bet small; I no longer have the wild excitement I had in my youth. I don't blindly chase winnings; I'm more interested in the process of achieving results. As long as I try to avoid making big mistakes, maybe I'll gradually develop a strategy that will help me reach the top, especially if I learn from the professionals.

I have a fixed budget for my gambling activities, and will fully withdraw winnings if I hit it big.  So from my years of gambling engagement, I can say I am at a profit due to several occasions where I hit more than a thousand times with regular spin triggering bonus.

There arentimes when I loose and also times when I win, so I cannot say for sure if I will call me self exactly a winner or a looser in gambling. Maybe I should see my self slightly above break even because I fo not keep an actual record but to the best of my knowledge, most times the wins and losses does balances out and I just accept the much I have been able to make at the time. I sometimes do gamble for fun too and the other times I hope to make some profits so I do not have an exact pattern or purpose I attached to my gambling habits and that is why I am unable able to track it enough to see myself as a winner or looser gambling.

So far, my last 3 bets were wins, although this was a week ago already since i didn't gamble this week or more than a week already.

Same here. I don't leave funds sitting in a casino for more than a week. If i gamble and hit a decent win, i withdraw right away. If i lose, well… better luck next time lol. As for my overall PnL from total deposits and withdrawals, i think i'm still up, though i don't know the exact figures. I've never had a huge loss so far because i usually stop once i feel like things aren't going my way, especially with slots.

Here, not that I want to give a socially desirable answer I will tell you that based off of your metric, I consider myself to be a winner in gambling not because of more wins or losses but because of how I am 100% in control of my gambling habits, activities, and decisions except for the one time I chased my losses.
Yes, I have lost but I did so responsibly knowing that the odds are not always in my favor. Yet, I do consider myself a winner.

I am not a gambler yet, in short I am even scared of gambling for my own personal reason, but due to few research I have done it seems like there are so many losers in gambling, more than ninety percent of gamblers are losers.

The problem is none of them are ever going to quit on day after they won big amount of money, as far as they will keep coming back there is a higher chance that they will lose more than they have ever won.

It might not happen in a go, the gradual gambling activities can slowly make them lose everything that they have ever won in the past.

I think there is fun in gambling if you decide to quit, the essence of gambling is to be doing it moderately until you are able to understand the pattern to be making the win and have a small loss but many gamblers are guilty of becoming what they do not plan for. You can't be a gambler without visition and ever think of making something big, you have to understand what work for you just like the way you admired that you don't know how to gamble properly.

As a gambler that is making loss in gambling and you don't know what to do, the best thing to do at that instant is to quit and give yourself some time to heal and maybe improve on the things you have been doing. There are times that when you stop doing the things you are doing, that's even the time you may have the chance to think well and he able to repair the mistakes you have been doing in gambling.

I'm in lose position, the reason is because I prefer playing slots & I don't think anyone who plays slots a lot is in a profitable position. Those who are in profitable position definitely come from sports betting or live casino players, that cannot be denied. But that doesn't matter to me, because I play just for fun. Self-control is absolutely crucial, as it's the foundation of successful play for winners. In the worst-case scenario, we might simply win a lot of money and then lose it all again because we couldn't control ourselves or wanted more. I also try not to allow myself to be weak in the game, including emotional ones. It's better to channel emotions elsewhere, and here it's better to be armed with a cool head and calculation. I may not be a profitable player yet, but I'm still making an effort in this direction and hope I can succeed.
