Winning that job they are doing will only be the means to earn money, which can later be used for gambling.

There are people who are too dependent on the lottery as their only ticket to wealth instead of actually looking for something creative to do with their lives, but that's their problem and not the problem of gambling, and you should not be scared of what you promote; the right thing is only to gamble in the right way.

I honestly do not understand how someone can rely on something that has no real certainty as a means of livelihood. Luck does not always stand by anyone, when it comes to gambling this matter becomes even more sensitive, which is why it is never right to depend on gambling as a way of life. You mentioned three brothers from your town, it seems they have been on the wrong path since their school days, which is why they could not move out of that slum-like environment. Truly foolish people are actually very few and even when someone acts foolishly, there usually comes a time when they realize the reality of life, stand up again and change their path. But in the case of those three brothers, nothing like that can be seen and because of that it seems they will never be able to come out from that world.

If you ever get the chance, try to give them good advice and encourage them to come out of that situation and find a proper way to earn a living through honest work. They should make it their main goal to stop seeing gambling as a source of income. As long as they keep counting gambling as a way to make money, it will be very difficult for them to move forward in life. If they cannot change this mindset then they may never be able to come out of that situation.

Magical thinking that you can easily double your money before you know it and casinos are the perfect example of how that fantasy of some people can become reality. Of course it comes with its own catches but the reality is such that people like to take risks and that fuels the dopamine surge leads to pleasureable feelings and then people want to have it again and again. its only a jobless person will like to bet or gamble for survival, but i still find it difficult to believe that a person will gamble to survive. gambling should just be something we do without high expectation, gambling for survival is just like betting and doing like your whole life depend on it. for the case of those three brothers who gambled throughout their school days till date and never won a reasonable amount, is as a result of too much expectation plus addiction put together. sometimes our emotion keep deceiving us into believing what may not be possible, only to realize it late.

Technically everything is based on probability, but by "some people", you are referring to ignorant people? Because there are ton of ignorant people who are easily manipulated, and they are going to struggle with many different fallacies, among them is obviously gambler's fallacy.

I could write an essay of psychology behind it, and how it ties together many different evolutionary traits that some people direct toward things that they aren't suitable for (like gambling). But let's just say that some people are destined to make unfortunate life decisions unless they are protected from themselves.

It's not gambling that's scary, it's some people's attitudes towards it, where they rather follow their instincts then a voice of reason.

I was almost wondering why you would say it’s good to have one who is addicted around us, before finally reading through your comment I got to understand what you’re trying to say and you’re actually right. Experience they say is the best teacher and I guess there’s so much we can learn from someone with experience. Because it's easy, shortcut to better life. Just imagine if you hit big in gambling like winning a lottery it will be a life changing experience. We have to admit that there are people (not everyone) that are lazy and they want easy money.

So they go into gambling which seems to be the only way for them and not to go to work and learn how life it. And it's true that they are risking everything when they gamble, including their future. But it is what it is, you can't simply talk people in giving up in gambling and look for a job.
