Why the hell is some people depending on gambling to survive? I can remember three brothers in my town who are into gambling since their school days and they are still in the slums today because they won no life changing money. I think to myself that if they get a job and depen on their salaries maybe their lives will be different?

Gambling is scary to me because of these life lessons from the hood, when something is based on probability it could destroy your life if you have nothing else going on in your life that's bringing in money.

These 3 brothers have maybe never really taken a huge risk or have not compiled a string of small wins consistently enough to survive. Those that make life changing money in gambling likely took a big risk and got very lucky. Like maybe a 20 leg parlay that hit huge or something.

You can do disciplined bets and grow a bankroll then start betting larger once you built that bankroll but it takes time and massive discipline. If you are this type of bettor, then getting a job and making small bets weekly to grow a bankroll is a smart move, but most make a dollar and spend it.

‎Despite the story behind gambling, I don't think gambling is scary. As a person, it's good to be self disciplined in every area of your life, and just one income source in this side of the world can't give you all the life changing goals you desire. Greed too is one thing that can bring most gamblers down, gambling isn't a source of income, it's mostly and will continue to be a game of entertainment. It's not everything that should centre on income making. It's a shame to live your life depending on gambling. Regardless, there are still gamblers who are good and disciplined when they game and can never be seen as irresponsible gamblers.

However, from my observations, people around me had a positive interaction with gambling, so their example didn't influence me negatively on this matter. It's quite the opposite, I found on their habits resources to develop a healthy approach towards gambling.

Maybe if you observe positive examples of gamblers who have a meaning for you, it will be possible that gambling stops being scary. Not every gamblers are like the ones from the hood who are still lurking the slums due to having waste and neglected all the potential opportunities presented in life.

A lot of those chronic gamblers you see today, got into gambling because of something and most of the time it's because of a "story" they read online or because of some sort of promise or unrealistic expectation they have because of something they saw online (I have seen some ads make winning look so easy to the extent that people no longer see the risk until they start to participate in it).

So the reason why you just see someone eagerly gambling for the sake of making it big is simply because of the hope they have and even if you try to talk such a person from gambling they won't' because to them the more they gamble the closer they are to achieving that goal. But, in the end they don't get to win that life changing amount they spent most of their life chasing...

Nobody showed them alternative or other path in life. I can point three reasons why people dedicate life to gambling. 1) greed. gambling allows to get money easily 2) they have won once and those money were enough to change persons worldview. instead of working they prefer testing luck 3) stories like "a person was buying lottery ticket each day during many years, but one day he hit jackpot and became rich" are enough to motivate people to dedicate life, time and money to gambling.

Simply put, they have never seen or experience the realities of life, and that no luck in gambling will guarantee their life's survival. They have to find real jobs that will sustain their family's needs and wants, and should never stop looking for one until they hit their target.

Gambling should only be a source of entertainment, not a guarantee to get rid of poverty or achieve one's dreams or ambitions in life. This is why they have been struggling for survival, because they see life as luck and chances, and when they don't experience one, then they end up living a life full of financial stress and pressures.

We live life on probabilities too and it's a risky venture no matter how you put it because you can eat healthy, not smoke and not do all the stuffs doctors say are bad and still die early. That's why I'm not surprised when people focus 100% on gambling as only endeavor. I've been in that kind of situation before when I thought that gambling I can depend on gambling not until the reality struck me. Everyone is aware that gambling once abused will no longer lead to a good and peaceful life. It's caused by many factors, one is poverty. And when people are so desperate, anything that's related to money, they'll take the risk and will not mind what others are saying. But soon, they'll realize that they need a more stable source of income because doing it with gambling is not going to take them far. The professional gamblers did it but, it takes a lot of money and courage for doing that and they have a lot to stake. Compared to gamblers who are experiencing poverty, because of desperation and thought that it's an easy way to make money due to chances and probability, they'll checking if it's for them but eventually they're realize that it's not.

If you take a look at the richest people on the planet, they did not get all their money thanks to going to a gambling floor and being lucky, their fortunes which built through so many years and through taking the right choices when the market was struggling, so their businesses could survive in the long term.

Ironically, if you talked about casinos or bookies to those rich investors, they would assume you were talking about it from the perspective of someone owning the casino, instead of losing money to it.

Relying on gambling to survive is foolish and ignorant; excuse me if I'm being radical with my words, but there's no other explanation. I've said many times about those who believe gambling is work and call themselves professional gamblers. Living that way is relying on luck at every moment; it's a risk that can't be sustained in the long run.
