Why are off topic comments allowed on some members sale/auction threads?

Why are all these off topic comments allowed on FD’s SALES THREAD but I can't respond to OP ADDRESSING ME in an auction thread or it gets deleted.

I smell deep seeded corruption and favoritism.

Moderators, it sure would be nice to hear something out of you regarding the matter. Seems you should address these things and rule fairly.

It should be clear to see that those are different circumstances. Whilst the comments are harsh, they are about the actual design flaw of the hologram and not (directly) off-topic in my eyes. If FiniteByDesign wants me to remove those posts from his sales topic, I'll happily extract them into a separate topic.

You can sense whatever you want (and to a certain degree I can understand why you would feel that way), but there is no corruption and favoritism in play here.

The assertion that excluding Kazkaz27 from auctions is standard practice is questionable especially since Kazkaz27 neither participated in the auction nor made any comments. Additionally members intentionally copying my posts should not be permitted as seen in my post https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5576112.0 and Nutildahs post https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5576432.0. There is no reasonable explanation for why my post was removed from the collectibles board to the reputation board given that it was directly related to collectibles. Furthermore moderators have allowed defamatory statements about FD to remain on his post at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5575833.0. The ongoing harassment, targeting, and cyberbullying of member accounts without consequence raises significant concerns about the effectiveness of platform moderation. Such behavior is not tolerated on comparable platforms and should be addressed promptly. I anticipate that my comment will be deleted as usual without any explanation.

I see you have addressed me in an exclusionary way. It is sort of meaningless to exclude me. I was not interested in your auction, services, or any other facilities you may provide.

I always appreciate the free advertisement. They say no publicity is bad publicity.

Sorry you feel the need to exclude me. For the record, the entire time I’ve been on the forum, I used your escrow service one time to my knowledge—maybe twice unknowingly. I also don’t recall ever bidding on your auctions, but I may have; if I have, I never won, and ultimately, that just went towards helping out your seller get a higher premium/denomination for their items.

So yeah, you aren’t doing me a disservice; you are actively hurting your seller, which I hope is yourself that way you don’t lose any value for any third party.

I’d recommend that anyone using a service such as a bidding house/agent be wary of using one that takes value away from them.

You and the MOB have a history of coming into threads and destroying them with negative off-topic matters. I have never come into an auction to make statements such as this. My record shows I’ve either complimented the products/items or have bid. So this is a first for me. I feel it’s very disrespectful to make a sales or auction thread go off topic. The Trolls just did that with FD’s POST.

By publicly mentioning excluding me and Howard in your auction, I felt compelled to comment but would like to leave it at that unless you have something you must continue to address me about.

That discourse started with a legitimate questions about a typo in the hologram. The posts afterwards were muddy, but not directly off-topic. I would've been happy to split off the posts to a new topic, so that it could be discussed there if need be. Nothing was ever reported (at least, not that I've seen, could be that it was and someone else handled it).

There is no reasonable explanation for why my post was removed from the collectibles board to the reputation board given that it was directly related to collectibles.

I didn't move that topic, but I do agree with it. Happy to post my explanation again: 'The collectibles section is about buying and selling items. Whilst it does relate to the section, it does not belong in the section. Reputation or Meta is more correct, I think, since it is about people behave in the section.'

I anticipate that my comment will be deleted as usual without any explanation.

It is bizarre to continue this approach of disregarding any sort of external input, even when presented from an unbiased and official source, given you keep digging yourselves deeper holes.

How did you pull that out of your ass? He understands it to a degree, but that doesn’t mean we fully agree. It could mean change. Although, that’s probably being overly optimistic.

To be honest, I do agree with Mitchell’s decision. I wish I had seen more of it more often. Now I want to see it equally enforced from this point into the future.

It was my first time ever doing more than bidding or inquiring about the item in an auction and making such a response. Mind you, I was responding to a comment OP made directly at me in the thread. Funny how I got shut down immediately while I’ve seen members of the MOB get away with far worse off-topic rhetoric in sales threads countless times.

Let’s see if Mitchell is really gonna clean up Sales and Auction threads.

If the OP reports it and I happen to be online, I will definitely take a look (and if I am not, someone else will). If OP doesn't report it, all I can do is assume they want to respond to the posts made. This is a very liberal forum and my time on it is limited.

A few more Makers I'm sure would like you to address their sales threads. RC, CT and myself would like our sales threads clean from off topic comments and spam.

Keeping everyones sales and auction threads on point really is conducive. Many of my personal “vendettas” have spawned from members massacring sales threads and reputations.

MEMBERS shouldn't be allowed to muddy a sales or auction thread. Let's keep it respectful and simple.
