What really made me create this thread is because I still can't figure out why people who lose often can't quite gambling or take a break even when they know that they can't win to recover their money.
Do not think everyone that is gambling are gambling because they want to make huge amount of money from gambling. Also know that some people are gambling responsibly by using little amount of money to gamble which is a very small percentage of their weekly income. Other reasons can be bad, such as gamblling more and wasting money on gambling because of addiction. I know this is what you will be expecting us to post about but not everyone that is gambling that are addicted.

~snip~If you observe properly, we could notice that the gambers that are winning their bet are likely gambling for entertainment (am not sure actually, probably not all of them), meanwhile those gamblers that are losing their bet are desperately gambling to make money through it. Even after multiple trials and no positive results, why not quit?.
In my opinion winning is not hard, but staying in profit in casino is so hard even if we win 4 out of 5 games/prediction, we can still end up losing if we get greedy on the last bet and lose it. Until now I'm not quitting gambling because I can still afford to lose my money I spend on gambling . I believe some people want to hit the jackpot or win big to change their lives, which is why many of them keep trying with a hope to win. But in reality, not many people win big in casinos a lot of them lose big as well. If I quit just because it's hard to win, then whenever I lose at something, I might give up easily, which is not my style at all.

What I think is that players maintain hope, and as long as we have that as humans it's difficult to give up But it turns out that giving up shouldn't be confused with stopping an activity that can be entertaining, but needs supervision so that it doesn't fall into another type of dangerous activity like addiction. The point is to control money, and if there is good control of money, I think everything will flow for the better. Sadly gambling should not be inline with hope, since gambling is just for fun and also might drain you as well there are lots of family who go their separate ways because someone became addicted to it, selling home, land , material things just to satisfy the urge to gamble. They were just dreaming of something big this is what casino really does do, they even post a big billboard of freeways just for the people to see and and lure them to play, its free to dream but i just think that that is not the way because there are always consequences for gambling, so while its still early quit not worth winning once and losing a lot.

This is a question for gamblers who gamble with the mindset of getting rich through it, if they are losing most of the time and keep chasing loses then you will wonder why they don't change strategy or quit. For us that gambles for fun we don't have to quit because we are losing, our aim is to entertain ourselves in gambling and we can get a reward of a win or we lose, whichever happens we move on without a worry. The open secret of gambling without worrying whether you lose or not is to always use amount that you can afford to loose.

Without doing any research I can actually say that gamblers that are benefiting from gamble in aspect of winning their bet are lower than the gamblers that are losing their bet because there's no guarantee to win any game except the gambler is lucky, which makes me believe that losers are more than the winners. This is how a person can quit gambling. Easily. If he doesn't have a gambling addiction. But if there is an unbearable desire to win back a loss, then it is not so easy. However, even people who do not suffer from gambling addiction also have a desire to win back the money they have lost - this is normal. It's just that this desire can be suppressed by willpower, whereas a dependent gambler is unlikely to be able to do this without outside help, which may be restriction of access to the casino or even primitive physical coercion (for example, from relatives).

Most of those who lose repeatedly think If I lose once, what's the matter, I will definitely win next time and get all the money back,as a result, they do not stop, but rather continue to play more and this thought does not let them get out of gambling. Again, Many gamblers become deeply addicted to gambling after playing for a long time, so they cannot quit the game even if they want to. Again, there is a category of people who do not care whether they lose or win. They play only for entertainment, so they do not quit the game even if they win or lose. Again, there is a category of people who consider gambling as an income source. Especially those who are in financial problems, they think that if they win a big jackpot, their life will change. They cannot quit the game with this hope. In fact, different people gamble with different types of thoughts. However, one thing is common in all cases, that they become addicted to playing and because of this addiction, they cannot quit the game even if they lose.

Many times, those who gamble really believe that the situation will change sometime in the future. Even having lost some times they have in their mind that the previous loss would be recovered once they win, This thought is what keeps the people connected from quitting the game. In reality, many people start in small amounts at first and then they take more of a risk when they withdraw that money after they lose it, So in many cases, it is not just about fun but also the mentality of hope and recovery of losses plays a big part.

"Gambling triggers the brain's reward system, releasing dopamine—a neurotransmitter associated with pleasure and motivation—in response to the excitement and anticipation of winning." quoted from Gambling and The Brain https://responsiblegambling.vic.gov.au/documents/1013/GHAW2021_VRGF_Gambling_and_the_brain_A4_2.pdfThose are experts giving you solid science to answer the question. My Note: One way to get control is to occasional wager extremely small amounts, Stake is a good place for that. This dopamine part is real, no doubt.. The brain do kinda gets hooked on maybe this time I’ll win feeling, and that is where a lot of people start to lose control.. Even wagering small amounts can still keep that thing going for some people. What really helps more is setting strict limits or just stepping away completely if it starts affecting you. Everyone tolerance is different though..

The house always set its odd to favor them and be unfavourable to gamblers, so the chances of winning is reduced, so your observation is right, but I don't think, the reason for gambling actually do affect if you loose or not, but rather it will determine how much you'll loose, if you gamble for fun, you're likely to gamble less compared to those that are taking it even more seriously, cause at that point, they'll always want to place a bet and gamble. Quiting is something that will happen if you are not already addicted or hooked in it, i think if someone will quit, it will be from the early stage of starting cause when one goes beyond that, and younger hooked to it, quiting will become difficult despite if you're loosing or not.

I doubt if those gambling for fun would afford to stay active in the gambling industry for as long as they lives, there should definitely be a time to quit even though we've to feel the entertainments of gambling in the long term. I agree with you on the detailed secrets of healthy gambling because we've to only gambling with what we can afford to loose, we shouldn't have to panic or considering to quit over consistent losses. You can still loose in the long term and still enjoys the game, the secret is just to follow your risk affordability depending on your income to set up budgets you won't regret no matter your lost or profit.

If you are not a gambler, you will not be able to feel what they feel. Even though they lose, they keep gambling & it happens again & again. It is hope that makes them like that, because basically we will not know the results if we do not try. I have had many experiences watching my broski make great comebacks, initially he lost $100, deposited again & lost another $100, on the third deposit, he turned that third $100 into $500. That's where the hope lies & that's what they want to get from playing again.

Without doing any research I can actually say that gamblers that are benefiting from gamble in aspect of winning their bet are lower than the gamblers that are losing their bet
And you are very bold in your statements. But don't worry, I've already done a little research for you and you can see the voting results here - Who are you in gambling (winner or loser)? because there's no guarantee to win any game except the gambler is lucky, which makes me believe that losers are more than the winners.
The guarantee (or lack thereof) of winning is the RTP (no more than 95%). Your assumptions turned out to be correct, because if you look at the voting results (link to the thread above), you will indeed see that there are more losers than winners in gambling. If you observe properly, we could notice that the gambers that are winning their bet are likely gambling for entertainment (am not sure actually, probably not all of them), meanwhile those gamblers that are losing their bet are desperately gambling to make money through it.
So, you think gambling operates on the opposite paradox (i.e., the less you try to win, the higher your chances of winning)? To me, that seems as silly as astrology or trying to increase your luck with a rabbit's foot or a four-leaf clover. The probability of winning in gambling is only affected by the RTP (the mathematical calculations and algorithms embedded in the gambling software). Even after multiple trials and no positive results, why not quit?.
From a rational standpoint, this is the most correct decision, but emotions intervene (hope = illusion of a successful outcome) and push you to continue. What really made me create this thread is because I still can't figure out why people who lose often can't quite gambling or take a break even when they know that they can't win to recover their money.
I suspect 2 factors are at play here: - the desire to quickly recoup losses and get back what was lost. - the desire to win even more and make a profit (covering past expenses).

Gambling is not all about making money because there are many gamblers who don't care if they are losing or not, they only care about the fun and entertainment side so how will you expect such gambler to quit? They can never try it at all. I love the fact that you understand that gambling involves losses than winnings so it's better to gamble with the mindset of not depending on anything else because just like as you mentioned that is exactly how it works. Honestly, I don't know why someone would purposely rely heavily on gambling knowing fully well that luck plays a significant role in determining the final outcome, just gamble for fun and see how things would work out for you.

~ The chances of losing the bet is higher than winning it. So even though you lose the first bet, you still do not have any guarantee that you will win the second one. I believe this is the conception many gamblers have that is why when they are losing a lot of money they still continue gambling. I get it that it is not easy as it seems to stop gambling but with your mind made up you can do it, even though stopping will be hard, at least taking a break will help a lot, it will help them save up some money for a while or even use the money for other important things.
If stopping rather than quitting the gambling is the reason then they should be able to do it whether they win or lose, while I agree losing the first bet doesn't gurantee that they will win the second one or so on but the same applies to the winning too, if one win the bet then there is no guarantee that why they can't lost the next bet. So the hope of winning the next bet is what drives the people and if someone thinks it doesn't make sense then gambling is not for them.

Because they believe that the day will come when they'll hit the jackpot. Or the belief that they'll win back everything they've played trumps common sense. This is how addiction develops, and the gambler begins to think differently, becoming part of their daily life. Habits develop quite quickly, and gambling addiction is much more frightening than it seems. In fact, we may simply not know that our loved ones are already addicted.

The fact is very clear and obvious, they probably want to escape poverty through gamble or maybe they just can't let go of all their accumulated lost over the years, or maybe sometimes they are just too lazy to work as others do and fair for their self and family perhaps looking for a more easy way to make it. Further stressing, i don't know why some people are just too dumb to understand, because I can't imagine how some one will keep on playing over and over again despite multiple losing , perhaps that would have make it obvious that it's not working and the best is for you to quit or take a break to recover yourself before thinking of gambling again. Gamble is not a do or die affairs and also not a get riche scheme so if you're a victim of this you get put yourself on check before is too late.

Even if gambling is not making some people money they will still keep gambling because they are already addicted to it, not always in a bad way, they just can't do without gambling anymore.
To some people, gambling has become a way of having fun with their friends, but most people are hanging on the hope that they can win someday even if they have been losing money for some while already.
The numbers of gamblers who will forever quit gambling will always be something not worth talking about, gamblers don't quit, they learn from their mistakes or get trapped forever.

You can gamble but, one should have it in mind that gambling is not something they can make a living with/from because the chances of winning is very little and hoping so.much on recovering what is lost can be misleading.

You are not gambling to recover your money if not, you will become addicted. Maybe, those gamblers that cannot stop gambling or go on a break for once are already addicted to gambling. It's not everyone that's gambling for fun that's making profits majority of them are also losing just like those gambling for profit. Gambling needs discipline and self control to avoid addiction.
