That's just it, no one would know what the future entails, otherwise no one would ever make mistake. Although it is certain that all gamblers knows that they will lose but they just keep trying their luck. What makes gambling what it is, is because it is unpredictable despite we claim to predict. So if gambling where to be predicted accurately or if people knew they where going to loose, nobody will gamble. because the loser are more than the winners.

Some gamblers just want to have hope that they can become rich in future with gambling. That's why they keep on trying their luck irrespective of their losses. Gambling is a game that you cannot know when your luck will shine. Thos is why no one should have confidence on his bet because it can make you bet with big amount of money and become emotional.

It's obvious that such gamblers believe in the elements of surprise, they just gamble everyday because they believed that one day they will also be lucky to win huge amount of money through gamble. Isn't that is obvious in the very essence of 'gambling'? I would even argue that it is same for every endeavor in one's life. Without the expectation of a possible reward you will not even move a inch simply because of lack of dopamine. I am not saying this to support compulsive gambling behavior which revolves around a fallacy that with increasing number of losses you are keep progressing towards a major win.

The uncertainty of not winning the next bet is what makes the gambling exciting, if one know which bet they will win and not then do you think they will be on the losing bet and if they don't bet then how do you expect the casinos to generate revenue?

It is very basic thing, future is unpredictable, the possibility of winning money makes the people to take such risks.

You have a point that gambling is not so much of a game of luck, but it is a psychological fight. Most gamblers are victims of greed particularly after losing as they reason that the next bet will bring back the money back. This can normally result in a pursuit of losses and poor decision making. I have to disagree.

A gambler will make a bet no matter what, the reason behind that is simple, because of his previous winnings. The thing is that whenever we experience winning in gambling, there's a sudden high dopamine spike that makes us happy, and that's what is addicting. We're going to crave that kind of feeling that's why we're going to keep on betting just to experience winning again.

And that is when everything gets chaotic. You'll lose yourself, even your family because of gambling addiction.

As long as you involve emotion and feelings in gambling, you will lose. I am not saying you will win if you can manage your feelings. But most of the time, people who involve feelings in gambling have a bigger chance of losing. For example, feeling “almost” made it [1], feeling like you know the algorithm, like L, L, L, the next one is probably W [2]. Sometimes, a random big win also makes you feel you are a lucky person, so no matter how many times you L, you feel like you just need to hit that big W once and you are good to go.

Expectations. I think this is where the problem actually starts. The normal expectation to win is okay, but when a gambler starts to expect more, that's when it will probably go wrong. In slots, this could become a disease.
Well, I can say based on experience. I've hit many high multiplier that ranges from x1000 to x17000, and when I continue gambling or playing slots after that big win, I am not that satisfied with wins that range from x100 to x300 anymore.
It is a mental issue that will be difficult to repair because the mind tells what you have already seen and experienced, so it won't be enough to withdraw if the winnings are not great.

Since we know we cannot always be sure of the time we will get lucky enough to win, any time we win, it is important to guard it as much as we can, it is only wise to use a fraction of it to gamble if we must gamble again, using all of it to gamble at once will only be doing us more harm than good and we cannot be sure if we are winning in that next attempt, which will eventually breed us for addiction if we do not stop already but continue with new attempts in a bid to recover. As a lucky gambler make sure to incorporate discipline while gambling, that will help you gamble better and become even luckier.

The thing is, we can't certainly predict the outcome of the game that's why we take risk. It's true that the thought of winning motivates us to play again and it's a human nature to have such mindset since you're hopeful to become lucky the next time you gamble. What matter is you can accept the result regardless of it's a win/lose and able to move on without dwelling on the past.
