People complains on illegal Gambling sites in the Philippines

Pagcor one of the Philippines Government issued a warning to all users to avoid clicking on social medias post on Facebook and Tiktok about illegal gambling sites.

Warnings alone will not suffice; illegal number operators know how many people like to gamble online, so whenever they take down one, they can launch another because they have influencers to back them up.
If they are serious about their campaign, they should impose fines and jail influencers who promote these illegal casinos, and also start tracing the operators of these illegal gambling; they have to be aggressive in their action.

Isn't it what the government did early on? They have requested Meta to shutdown accounts that promote illegal gambling in the Philippines. So even that might not be suffice enough to stop the proliferation of illegal gambling and it could really be up the gamblers themselves to just play on legal sites that Pagcor recognized. The government can only do that much, in my opinion.

As you have said, there are posts in Facebook, that perhaps if it has been shutdown, then another one will come up because it's a paid add, then Meta will have to show it again and again and chances are high that someone will fall for that ad and play and lose their money.

Wow, a government official from the Philippines told people to stop clicking on casino links posted on social media. I'm sure that everyone would follow his advice. The authorities must take legal actions and report the illegal gambling sites to their hosting providers, so that they can be taken down immediately. Those illegal gambling sites must also be reported to the Internet Service Providers, which are operating in the Philippines, so that they could block access to those websites(I know that the users can use VPN and proxies, but such measures should be taken). Just telling the people to not click on links won't work.

We are in terrible times. With the help of artificial intelligence tools, a casino platform could be developed within a short period at a very low cost. Days are gone when they had to pay heavily to develop a gambling platform. As the government is doing all it can to reduce these illegal platforms, more are coming up within a short period. All they do is rebrand and launch again. The government would have to develop more technologically based strategies to fight this menace. Registered casinos should also make themselves attractive to local gamblers.

So with those actions they made, this give warning to those influencers that promotes illegal casinos.

The impact maybe a little bit because as far as I know, those legits gambling site can use the other social medias to keep promoting their site. Even if a warning still there, the gambling site know where they can promote so nothing significant will happens.

If those young or Gen-Z knowing this forum, they can identify which scams casinos so they can avoid and not playing gambling there. They can be selective to search the gambling site since they have a guidance to select the site.

The authority can't stop the circle of scam casinos as they also know where they should promote. It needs education to Gen-Z to know where they can playing gambling safely and avoid the scam.

Are the people really the ones complaining about illegal sites, or is it the government?

Because I don’t see why players would complain if those sites have a good reputation. They are called illegal mostly because they don’t have a local license, but worldwide some of them already have a good reputation. So even if they are being patronized by Filipinos, the government cannot collect taxes from them and the income of locally licensed casinos will be reduced.

So I guess with the corruption in the country, those government allies of big casino operators are the ones pushing these headlines.

Before I knew and came  to this forum, I have been gambling but only on legit gambling sites. I do not register on a gambling site because I saw them online, I registered because I browsed about the gambling sites and know what it online about the site. If there is little to no information or if the site is said to be scam, I just avoid it. But gambling sites that is talked good about are the ones that I was using. The GenZ and other people need to learn how to avoid scam.

That's the most important to know as a gambler, you dont just start using a casino because you just come across the casino online but the reason why one should be gambling on casino is because research have been done to know the casino better.

Since this topic is related to Philippines which is my country, Most of this complaint is due to actual scam casino which is being promoted on social media like facebook and telegram that offers referral rewards or in most cases influencers promotes them in exchange for big compensation.

Many Filipino easily attracted on this scam casino if they watch it from popular influencer or their friends recruit them.

This show easy to scam most of people here that frequently follow local influencer.
