Wow, a government official from the Philippines told people to stop clicking on casino links posted on social media. I'm sure that everyone would follow his advice. The authorities must take legal actions and report the illegal gambling sites to their hosting providers, so that they can be taken down immediately. Those illegal gambling sites must also be reported to the Internet Service Providers, which are operating in the Philippines, so that they could block access to those websites(I know that the users can use VPN and proxies, but such measures should be taken). Just telling the people to not click on links won't work.

We are in terrible times. With the help of artificial intelligence tools, a casino platform could be developed within a short period at a very low cost. Days are gone when they had to pay heavily to develop a gambling platform. As the government is doing all it can to reduce these illegal platforms, more are coming up within a short period. All they do is rebrand and launch again. The government would have to develop more technologically based strategies to fight this menace. The impact maybe a little bit because as far as I know, those legits gambling site can use the other social medias to keep promoting their site. Even if a warning still there, the gambling site know where they can promote so nothing significant will happens.

If those young or Gen-Z knowing this forum, they can identify which scams casinos so they can avoid and not playing gambling there. They can be selective to search the gambling site since they have a guidance to select the site.

The authority can't stop the circle of scam casinos as they also know where they should promote. It needs education to Gen-Z to know where they can playing gambling safely and avoid the scam.

Are the people really the ones complaining about illegal sites, or is it the government?

Because I don’t see why players would complain if those sites have a good reputation. They are called illegal mostly because they don’t have a local license, but worldwide some of them already have a good reputation. So even if they are being patronized by Filipinos, the government cannot collect taxes from them and the income of locally licensed casinos will be reduced.

Since this topic is related to Philippines which is my country, Most of this complaint is due to actual scam casino which is being promoted on social media like facebook and telegram that offers referral rewards or in most cases influencers promotes them in exchange for big compensation.

Many Filipino easily attracted on this scam casino if they watch it from popular influencer or their friends recruit them.

This show easy to scam most of people here that frequently follow local influencer.

Even if a gambler is too focus on making huge amounts when gambling, this should be understood by people around him which can be a reason to make huge amounts and I know that people have different reasons to why they need to make huge amounts of money from gambling. Personally, I would distinguish between illegal casinos and those that are fraudulent. In my opinion, fraudulent sites aren't always illegal, and illegal casinos aren't always fraudulent. The situation in the Philippines is sad, but in my opinion, this usually happens in poor countries where people are desperate to make some money somewhere. Russia had a similar situation with underground casinos in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. In my opinion, this is simply growing pains. When the economy becomes healthier, the era of illegal casinos will also be a thing of the past.

Poor countries are always victims of illegal casinos, but what's the point of using an illegal casino when gambling is legal in the country? It is easy to bring the Philippines here if actually you set this out as a goal you want to achieve, the way to first begin is to find their online community and join, start making friends with them and as time goes, you begin to invite them to this forum, maybe easier said than doing here but also still not an impossibility.

Well for sure no one complained if all they got are consistent winnings, even if they are aware that they are playing on illegal sites. But once they start losing significant amount, they will start ranting and blame it all to those scam casinos.

The impact is definitely big because the market will be narrower, which will be a problem for casinos that are legally legitimate, plus of course the legal casinos pay taxes while the illegal ones do not, this is very detrimental to those who have honest businesses and according to the rules.

All I can think of is that somehow somewhere this is like some little kid who has zero to no supervision, that got ahold of some crypto somehow or hustled their little butt off to get it and by somehow some way they made a killing and perhaps are sitting on a small fortune. I mean think about it! This is a big world. Somehow some way there is a kid SOMEWHERE that has taken some crypto from mom and dad or maybe even made their own account and had a run on the welcome bonus and using their dads ID or something to this measure but the little kid made bankkkkkkk. I also believe that the responsibility of sanitizing illegal casinos in the Philippines rests on their relevant government authorities to find ways to flush out these illegal and scam casinos for the benefit of their gambling citizens.
