Few months ago I came across one casino that felt very untrustworthy.

Despite that feeling I used it because I had some free bonuses there.

After a while I realised that my gut feeling was right and that this casino should not be trusted.

I took the time later and analysed what was different from other trustworthy casinos and found few red flags.

First red flag was that the casino was pretty new and unknown to me, I didn’t know it's reputation or anything about it.

Second, there was no information about about minimum withdrawal limits available on webpage.
Honestly I knew there was something fishy going on since they didn't have basic information like this one transparently written.

Third red flag was customer service that gave misleading and wrong information. After asking them questions about wagering requirements for specific games they gave me misleading information, and when I called them on that they accused me with some arbitrary accusations.

So it is good idea to watch out for such red flags, specially when trying out new casino.

Wow, these are good observations and it's very keen to note, some of the red flags I watch out for other than customer service attendance include;
Unrecognizable deposit and withdrawal service providers: if a casino uses 3rd party deposit and withdrawal service provider that isn't recognized or doesn't have any reputation, I see it as a red flag. A trusted platform will always want to work with a well known payment service providers.

User's Review: I also try to get other customers review on the site to gauge how their services are, before seriously investing my time and money into it. Reviews can give a good idea on what you're getting into.

It's very important to me that an online casino is represented on the Bitcointalk forum. I don't play at casinos that don't run (advertising) signature campaigns on our forum. 🙋

I agree with you the best way to check if a casino is a very good casino and trustworthy is to confirm from people that have used it before those that have used it before will give you a good information about the casino, those reviews you see online are done by the casino itself, they pay some people to give them good feedback so it is not a good way to check if a casino is trustworthy. It is the reason why, experience players don't use review to test if a casino is trustworthy or not. The effective way for you is to ask people around, but that's not the most effective way for me. 1.The crypto casino not having an announcement thread on Bitcointalk. Also having a sig campaign on Bitcointalk is a signal that the casino owner is serious about growing his business and the crypto casino is here to stay.
2.Not having a gambling license. I know that the casino having a gambling license doesn't guarantee that I won't get scammed, but a crypto casino with a license feels a little bit more legitimate than a casino with no licenses.
3.Unclear Terms or Service or no Terms of Service at all. This one is pretty obvious.
4.No reviews from gamblers about that particular casino(posted on Bitcointalk or elsewhere).
5.The casino being non-KYC. I know that we all hate KYC, but the non-KYC casinos are clearly in the legal grey area(or even worse), which is suspicious to say the least.

Personally, I rarely try new casino sites. I usually won't play or even make a deposit until the casino has already earned the trust of many users and has a clear reputation in the community. Before depositing, I always check user reviews on forums like this. Few or mostly negative reviews is already a warning sign.

As much as gambling itself is risky, then having the fact that you also chose to gamble in a newly launched casino, that already adds to a bigger risk of losing, or getting scam by it. It's best to stick to our old but trusted casinos, than to risk our funds by betting on new casinos that have not proven its worth and credibility to its new users.

Those casinos that also hire influencers who showcase fake wins. These influencers will promote these casinos by claiming how they had easily won thousands without stress. They will never give clarifications on how they won, but keep showing big wins. This is indeed a red flag since they are deceiving people.

I agree with the customer support thing you mentioned because I have witnessed this on a lot of platform that later were accused to scamming people, because the customer support should be able to answer every question you ask them about the platform, and if they can't answer your questions, or they give different answers to the same question, it means something is not okay with the platform. The team that manages the customer service department should be trained and have all the knowledge and information about the platform and all their partners, terms and conditions, and everything else that might be important and a customer might ask about it.

About community feedback, I think that is one of the most authentic ways of identifying if a platform is good or not or if it has evil intentions with the community, because if a bunch of people have already tried them out before you, they can give their reviews and feedback about what they have experienced on the platform, and then you will have a clear idea about how it is or how it could become in the coming days. However, make sure that the feedback are coming from trusted community members and not new accounts or members as that could be planned.

I believe that both of your statements were reasonable, and the most secure way is to blend them. However, the current trend is that these casinos usually operate well for a while, but after establishing a customer base, everything systematically deteriorates until their credibility plummets to zero. Some new untrustworthy casinos don't normally have proper licensing and when you look deeply, you might observe it and then when you ask questions about the license, the team might not provide a valid feedback, that's to show that they are incompetent and likely to scam.
