People who gamble on their wives at a live casino house seem to act under the influence of substances or alcohol, if I am not mistaken. So it is possible that such an occurrence might take place, but I am of the opinion that casinos in the first place should never allow such to happen within their premises because it seems that they are encouraging such if gamblers do that and they do not take action against it. If the government intervenes in such an act, the casinos would already bear the brunt because it is on their platform that such happened and they would be made to face the penalty for their actions. So it is best they do not allow such to happen on their platform than payinh heavily for such nonsense.

Usually this never happens in reality as the wife never surrender to such request by her own will even if she is put at stake from this chronic gambler. Most of the time the ones accepting wife as a precious stake in gambling are dangerous persons with dangerous groups behind them and they can kidnap the wife and tell her there is nothing you can do, your husband has put you at stake in gambling and he lost. I have seen such cases in some countries I will not mention as it is not ethical but if you want to guess, these countries have some of the most submissive women out there and in such countries maybe in extreme cases this is common occurrence. Of course this sounds as a Rodney Dangerfield joke simply because it is such an occurrence.

I thought it only happened in soap operas, but sometimes a gambler can lose their sanity. So I believe what you said. Some gambling addicts who have lost their sanity can indeed destroy their own families and are even willing to sell their wives to get money to gamble again. Is really crazy, is that how little they valued their wives?, there are several other things or money they could have use on the betting instead of putting their wives as if they are object to be use however they like. Let's say they were actually successful in the betting what would the winner going to do with his friend wife?, was he going to marry her or what?, actually no woman would even allow such thing to happen because they are not slave in the marriage or even given a consent to the gambling. This is really crazy. Gambling for money is a kind of pleasure and if you lose money, you can earn money. This is not a big deal. But how can a person involve his family in gambling and how can a gambler bet on his wife? If someone does this, it means that he is very serious about gambling and he is very confident in his predictions so he thinks that if he bets then he will definitely win there so his wife can dare to take such a big risk. yup it doesn't make sense, if someone really make a betting and his wife as the reward if he lose, before the betting done, his wife will accuses him doing a criminal. No matter how emotional they are, they can not just conclude on such a decision to stake their wives for a bet. They must be acting under the influence of something, and maybe it could be very intoxicating that they could not realize themelves while doing such. OP might not be aware of such and all he might likely know is that they were emotional but even at then, they could still control their emtions in not using their wives for a bet.

Nah, this is the most common and exaggerated form of betting jokes around the circle of men. Nothing surprising about this, though there are other men that gets easily offended by this joke, but that's like a normal thing.
I've seen a more serious betting arrangements like betting their cars, high breed dogs, and other expensive stuff. But this? This is literally how you ruin a family because of gambling. Additionally, do you think their wives will agree to this? I'm not sure, but they might get legal consequences as a result to this actions if they happen to be serious about this betting arrangements.

Indeed it's an expensive joke, those guys just did that out of argument and trying to proof a point, but I am %100 certain that their wife's are not aware about that bet. And truely if their wife knew that thier husband used them for gambling, they will certainly feel that their husbands love gambling over them. Definitely it will be a joke because you can’t tell me that their wives are also dumb to follow their instructions on the betting because it is something that sounds very stupid to me.
I know it will be a joke because you said two friends, but I consider it as expensive joke because one has to lose the bet which brings this question of what should be the condition of the person’s wife who lost the bet to his friend?

What will happen is that the gambler's thinking is no longer normal; he is too greedy, and he can no longer control his thinking properly. That's really the hard thing. When gambling addiction
has entered our minds, it will really swallow you up without us realizing it.

Yes, in the past, when people used to participate in physical casinos, one could hear one or two stories of people betting on their wives in gambling. Nowadays, these ugly stories are not heard. People have now updated themselves with the updates of civilization, due to which the bad thing of betting on wives that was done in the past may not happen now. However, those who are involved in such things should be brought under the law and face severe punishment. These are insults to women and a manifestation of quite ugly behavior.

It's not that such a man is unhappy, but he doesn't love his wife and so he easily does that just for his gambling desires.
