There are some days you would go out to hustle and after the work, you were not paid but you called it side hustle.

That's a different case, bro; don't compare it. They are just deceiving people if they said so. I can understand if the gambler is into poker or sportsbetting, as they can really make this as a living. But do note that they should be doing this for long time, and can be considered a professional already. The simple explanation is that you win and cash out some money = side hustle. You lose and unable to cash out some money = not side hustle. So people opinion will always change depending on what result they get in gambling. They will consider it as a side hustle only when it gives them income. I completely concur with that, a definition of a side job is supposed to be an economic meat added to your wallet rather than something that makes your wallet bleed. Smart is much more appropriate means to supplement your income than to roll dice at the high stakes of gambling table. It should also be remembered that we must be sceptical to post the photos of your balance or screenshot of your winning on social media because it is incredibly easy to fake digital data to gain some attention. Whatever you call a side hustle has to be related to a job and you must work to get paid, I don't think you do any work that guarantees a certain pay, the scope with gambling is that you either lose or win, while you get the bigger possibility of losing, no way is gambling meant to be seen as a side hustle.

And from personal experience, I have seen gamblers saying that "if not gambling, they would died with starvation". Not necessarily that a gambler must win every day but they win once, twice or trice a week which they can use to buy food. And as for me anything you do to give you money once a while or regular and it is not your regular job is a side hustle. If this week is not good for you, it will goo foe another person and next week might be your turn.

I guess op thinks other wise. I don't see how gambling is a side hustle. Something that's not consistent cannot be a side hustle. I thought that by its own definition, a hustle is supposed to be a secondary source of income for one, so gambling and betting cannot be a hustle, since profits are never guaranteed from partaking on casinos or bookies.

Gambling isn't a side hustle (at least not for gamblers), and those saying the opposite are fools. Or they are being benefited somehow to deceive people, or they are just newbies who don't know how gambling works yet.

The reports from people who claim gambling is changing their lives aren't legit, because they didn't pass through proof of time. Those people are gambling for a week or a month on the best of the hypothesis, what means they haven't reached long term gambling yet, that is when gamblers start losing without any recovering chances by chasing losses.

Imo, gambling shouldn't be called or consider a side hustle, because it doesn't fit into that category. What I consider side hustle is something that is not too risky. Let's say a skill or leverage, something you do outside your main work that gives you extra cash, not gambling that is risky and base on luck.

I consider gambling to be a game for fun or for entertainment, use gambling to have fun or to entertain yourself. And anything outside this two things I just mentioned you are on your own.
