This can always be arguable depending on your desire and how you personally think gambling should be treated.
It's a personal insight of how we think about gambling, some takes it for fun while some takes it for a source of income.
Here in this network majority believe gambling for fun will enhance your urge and self control to react very responsibly so that they don't spend above affordable.
If you're betting for profits, your sense of risk taking will increase whereas, it might lead to bankruptcy.
With all being said, in the right senses it's unjust to treat gambling as an alternative to make living.

If someone can win consistently then you can depend on gambling to be a side hustle for you alor even chose gambling as your main hustle instead doing other things since you can make more money from your gambling, but the challenge now is, do we have gamblers that are winning every time, or the one's that have high winning than their loses, this is what we should consider when engaging in this kind of discussions, less we get carried to start gambling out of place thinking we are chasing something good.

Those guys justifying it by saying they have won a certain amount from gambling, tell them to do an audit of their account so that they’ll see what they have lost to gambling.

The whole winning once in a while and then losing for a long time makes it look like you’re winning while in actuality you have lost so much to gambling. I wouldn’t consider gambling as a source of income, be it side hustle or major income source.

Even if you’re to make it a side hustle, just don’t make it consistent, make sure there are times when you just do it for fun because if you take all your sessions as money making sessions then you’ll find it difficult to differentiate between side hustling and full hustling.

Gambling cannot be a side hustle and that's something a lot of gamblers need to realize, A lot of gamblers use their salaries they get from their main jobs and put some into gambling hoping that it would generate profit for them but sadly that's not how the game works. In gambling, you don't get paid a certain amount at an allocated time. If gambling was a side hustle, you wouldn't have to place bets with money in order to win.

Bro, you know that gambling is always related to luck, and sometimes your current winnings won't cover your subsequent losses. On the one hand, gambling shouldn't be considered a way to earn extra income, but rather a form of entertainment to try your luck. Even in sports betting, where you can predict the chance of winning, surprises can still occur, such as a favorite team losing to an underdog, or results that don't meet your expectations.

So, keep gambling as usual, within your established limits, and never treat it as a side income, lest it end badly.

No matter how a gambler gets the income from gambling as enough for him on a weekly or monthly basis, gambling shouldn't be taken as a side hustle. Someone shouldn't be living on what it wins is not guaranteed to them each time they gamble because they can gamble with an expectation for a big win(betting with big money) only for them to be disappointed by a gambling loss. Currently, there are people who are trying to improve their lives, and work can make a difference.

It's just that in a cash cow, the path is fast and very safe, but as you say, it's not an activity that was created for entertainment. It involves money that can be won and lost if it's something of luck, it can't be considered safe. It's an activity that will always have many ways to lose, and it's where people like us lose money very easily.

Because gambling is a constant source of income for the casino. In the market, one side always makes money and the other loses, and it is impossible for both sides to make money at once (this is especially true for gambling). This is a zero-sum game.

Not necessarily that a gambler must win every day but they win once, twice or trice a week which they can use to buy food.

What if he then loses 5-10 times a week (which will devalue any previous winnings), and loses on top of what he won? And also loses borrowed money?

And as for me anything you do to give you money once a while or regular and it is not your regular job is a side hustle.

The point is not whether to call income outside of your main job a part-time job, but that a casino is not the place to come for "irregular" income, and the likelihood of losses (especially in the long term) is higher than winnings.

If this week is not good for you, it will goo foe another person and next week might be your turn.

There's no "queue" at a casino. It's not like queuing at a store for free bread (easy and quick money) that EVERYONE gets.

Because when you say "side hustle", it guarantees you to make money from your hustle, from your time, actions you are doing, or anything you spend your energy on, that you can gain something from it or get rewarded.

It’s true and its main purpose is for entertainment not a side hustle to earn money. If we will be realistic on gambling we will realized that it’s impossible to win long term in able to use it as source of income.

Most likely we will lose due to house advantage. Casino is a business not a financial tool which means they generate profit from players losses not the other way around.
