Holding is undoubtedly more profitable than trading, but those who understand trading well and have experience can also make a lot of profit from trading. But for those who want to combine trading with gambling, the chances of becoming a loser from trading are much higher. I have lost my capital several times while trading, so I no longer give importance to trading, but I am holding Bitcoin using the dca method. In other words, in my case, I can say that holding is much more valuable and profitable than trading.

This also applies to me. I'm not smart enough in trading, losing more than gaining because trading is indeed very complicated with many aspects we have to master, especially controlling emotions and managing management. But even so, I still keep trying to trade with small capital after buying Bitcoin through DCA because learning while practicing is also good, but still using a small amount of money. So it can be said that my priority right now is still to keep holding Bitcoin for the long term.

Your decision to eventually leave trading is a wise choice. Trading can indeed bring big profits for those who are experienced and disciplined, but for those who lack experience and can't control their emotions, staying away from trading is a smart move. Especially if you trade like gambling, the risks are much higher. When you realize that you've lost a few times and then focus on DCA Bitcoin, that's a much more valuable choice than trading. I mean, focusing on holding is way smarter after your previous losing experiences.

Not necessarily.  What I mean is that,  in theory, trading is considered more profitable than investing because you can make money continuously and much faster.  You can even make huge amount of money with high leverage.

But reality is much harsher, and almost the opposite.  Investing tend to be more profitable because making money from trading is nowhere near as easy as it looks.

Trading can be little more than gambling.  Even experienced traders cant guarantee they'll stay profitable, and the percentage of losing traders is just as high as what we see in gambling.
Doing high leverage trades in order to see big profit, is why traders lose their capital easily. A trader might have a good profitable month and still lose everything in one day  as a result of bad decisions, high leverage or when their strategy stops working. Reason is because the market is so volatile (short term markets experiences alot of noise). Alot of  traders do suffers from analysis paralysis which influence their decision in the market. investing is sustainable, it gives your money time to work, without worrying about analysing chart, trading every day and night. Investors can make make big profit,  that is if they accumulate consistently and hold more asset (Bitcoin) and there's a long term price appreciation. investing has its own risk, but if we compare it to trading, they can be easier to manage.

I find it very risky to trade daily, and I personally do not prefer it because many traders want to make a profit every day of the week; they lose everything due to their high profit expectations. Day trading is really risky. Its trading is very popular among those who expect quick profits, but most traders lose. Holding is definitely much safer than trading, because you may get a very late profit on holding, but there is no chance of losing as quickly as trading. I know most people fail at trading because they can't control their emotions for long.

If you want to be able to obtain something better than trading, you must be ready for trading, which is on a different level. The only way to lower risk is by holding. The only way to invest without losing a lot of money is to simply take a step toward holding if you are afraid to take on significant risk. People must comprehend, after which they must decide precisely what to do because that is the source of all problems. People are constantly afraid of losing money, so it's important to realize that trading is more complicated than holding, so if you want more flexibility, stick with holding.

If person can hold bitcoin for long time then that person profit will be no where near traders. And by that I mean the investor will have more profits. Yes there are some time a trader can become profitable, but those time dosen't come all the time. Trading is highly risky and that is why person need plenty of knowledge and even plenty of capital.

The capital is important so that anytime loss happens, you will have what to use to continue trading, so you can remain in the market. And even if person have knowledge, there is no guarantee that the trader will even make profits. Try checking out those guys that post trading signals, it is not all the time that they make profit and those honest ones will also post their losses.

People can choose the one to go for, but holding just look like the one that doesn't have more risk. And you also don't need much to start.
Personally i think trading and investment are both profitable,it depend on the individual mindset which one will be suitable for him to use to make money. In long term investing, your profits depend on the amount of stash you can stack into your portfolio is what determine your level of success in bitcoin. That means if you are not stacking plenty bitcoin consistently you might not make enough profit in the long run. An investor can make much more than a trader depending on the size of his discretionary income and it depends on the trader because they are traders that make up to $70k profits in less than a week while some make more than that in a day.

I think it is wrong to use your capital to trade. It is not a good idea because you can get broke as your using it to trade. Trading is risky and the market doesn't offer you any guarantee that is why I said it is not ideal to use your capital to trade because anything can go wrong instead use you discretionary income to trade. Your discretionary income is the money you don't need for anything important so it the money that you can afford to lose..

Every crypto enthusiast should invest their time in what they think will profit them in this space. And speaking of time not everyone who journeys in trading actually has time to stay consistent. And for that, trading isn't for everyone because it takes a toll of energy which means your body needs rest. You need to be physically, mentally, and psychologically healthy, while also having the right amount of capital and the understanding of risking only what you can afford to lose. In most case we should learn to examine our potential and our schedule if trading is something that can fit into that schedule then it's your choice to implement it. If it's not then you have to look for other options that's where investing comes in. Though investment doesn't mean you can't trade, and trading doesn't mean you can't invest you just need to have the right amount of capital and the psychology to manage it if you intend to do both.thats all...

Unless you're a quant utilizing AI/ML and doing algorithmic trading, it is likely that hodling is better than trading. However, that said, there are still possible paths for trading to be better than hodling. This might involve some element of luck, and chart-watching, and news watching (especially in the cryptocurrency space). You can also apply certain fix set of rules, such as if price drops by 10% within 2 days, buy. If price increases by 10% within 2 days, sell. Those are just some examples. There are still multiple ways you can explore.  However, if you're not used to it, I highly recommend just pure hodling.

No, even if you have nothing with that AL/ML and algorithmic trading you can still do better in trading if you know how to trade well. I think good traders make way more than the current holders. I won't say a word about the holders that have been holding their Bitcoin from 2010 or 2012 era as they'll always have better profits than the traders but those who started holding late will not make as much as the traders who could make more than 2x to 10x per year depending on their trading skills. So in simple words the holders will make better profit if they hold their Bitcoin for long term but in short term traders will always make more profit.

Bitcoin is pretty volatile, so long term holder may not make much in the short term and can even be sitting on temporary losses. But I'm not so sure traders are actually making more, since many survey show that only a small percentage of day traders are profitable.

Moreover, most people who became wealthy did it through holding or long term investing, not trading. So saying trader always make more than holder in the short term is still just your assumption and speculation.

A person can trading and investment, the main thing here is financial system knowledge and investor mentality. It is very important to always be aware of the risks of trading or investing, if we do not have risk management, then we will not be able to investing or trading for a long time. However, investing with a long-term plan is better than trading, as the risk of losing money is less and you can get profit in the long run. However, if you can trading with the right knowledge, understand the volatility of the market and control your greed, the risk of losing money is reduced and there is a possibility of making money. It is very important to be careful, one wrong decision through trading is enough to lose money.

The fact that you have already given holding an upper hand over trading seems bias to me..

Personally I have seen and read how hodlers have committed suicide because markets lost value sharply and people couldn't stand it..so for me both holding a d trading have their own ups and downs.

I don't think that's a biased statement.

Both trading and investing carry risk, and its true that not every investor is going to make a profit. Many investor lose money and some even take their own lives after losing everything, as you mentioned. But did you know that the same thing happen to trader, and the rate of losses and failure is even much higher?

Losses are part of the financial market, and they happen in both investing and trading. But if we look at the longterm results, holding has created many wealthy people, while most traders struggle to maintain consistent profit over the long run. So I don't think there's anything wrong with saying that holding is better than trading.

Knowledge alone does not make trading less risky than investing. Knowledge and experience help a trader understand risk and reduce wrong decisions. But they cannot completely eliminate uncertainty. Trading involves making repeated decisions in a short period of time. As a result, there is a high probability of making mistakes due to emotions and greed. One wrong trade and a few wrong decisions can also destroy a large part of the capital. Long-term investment also has risks. If the market falls, there may be temporary losses. But with long-term planning and patience, the impact of short-term market fluctuations can be largely managed. It is important that any method is compatible with a person's knowledge, risk-taking ability, time, and mentality. If someone wants to trade, he or she must have a clear plan about capital protection, risk, and loss. And those who want to invest for the long term must also have financial capacity and a mindset to hold on for a long time. Protecting capital and following one's plan is more important than profit. Because only by surviving in the market can there be opportunities for profit in the future.

If we consider the Bitcoin market, we will definitely see that the person who is an investor has not yet faced any loss. The person who has been able to hold on for a long time from the beginning till now has not faced any loss. There are some people who claim to be investors but they do not invest through proper financial management and are forced to sell their investments before the end of the period, but we can never call all these people an investor and we cannot call them a trader, they are basically a gambler.

In the case of Bitcoin investment, I have not seen or heard of any case where a person has faced loss and committed suicide by investing. But I have heard of many traders who have faced huge losses and committed suicide at the last moment

It may be easy for experienced traders but for those who are still new or fairly experienced, trading is very risky. If you understand that trading is risky, you should start trading after knowing it well or use a fund that can withstand the risk.

I agree with you that holding Bitcoin is very safe but you need to apply a long-term strategy. Applying a strategy with the aim of getting quick profits can often be as risky as gambling.

Trading is very risky for both beginners and experienced traders. Can an experienced trader guarantee a profit? Trading is risky for everyone; highly skilled traders may be a little less risky than inexperienced traders. Of course, good research is needed before trading; without learning, it is not possible to trade well. I prefer to learn and practice before starting trading.

Bitcoin must be a long-term holding; it is not suitable for short-term investment because its price movement is unlike that of other coins. To make a good profit from it, a holding period of at least a few years is needed; otherwise, it is possible to make less than expected. Since it is a safe investment, I think it can be closed eyes and invested for the long term.

OP is talking about are basically facing repeated losses because they don't understand trading. Even experienced traders face losses and for newbies it is even more risky. So giving more priority to holding than trading doesn't mean he is biased. I am not saying that there is no risk in investing, rather there is definitely risk in investing, but the two risks are completely different. In trading you have to make very quick decisions which is why there is a high chance of making mistakes quickly. Many people consider their skills to be greater than the market, which is why I would not keep trading at the same level of risk as holding.

Long term investment planners and implementers can earn huge profits and there are many rich people among them. There are many reasons why the number of rich people is comparatively low among short term traders. Since traders tend to withdraw profits in a very short time, they have to make quick decisions, so most of their decisions are not perfect. There is a lot of risk in both cases but even if there is risk you can withdraw profits through planned financial management.
Another reason why traders fail is that they do not have a risk tolerance system. They are immersed in this tendency to get rich quickly by taking profits from one coin and buying other coins quickly to get more profits. As you said, if traders do not realize that losses are a part of the financial market, their losses are even greater. They are often involved in gambling with their available funds.

I am not saying that there is no risk in investing, rather there is definitely risk in investing, but the two risks are completely different.
There is no way a normal mind can match up or compare this two risk. It makes no sense because making comparison on both of this is just so unimaginable. Trading can make you loss more within a short period while longterm holdings can accumulate long lasting wealth overtime.

In trading you have to make very quick decisions which is why there is a high chance of making mistakes quickly.
And that is why I normally refer to it as gamble because dudes usually see it as quick way to get rich. There is always a limited time in making decisions, therefore subject players to great risk that will end up ruining them if not careful.

Many people consider their skills to be greater than the market, which is why I would not keep trading at the same level of risk as holding.
That is just the problem. Many people (traders) don't like stepping back even when the market isn't favorable. They will keep on firing thinking that a bit break will be a sign of weakness, little will they start realizing when they might have probably lost everything. However, none is risk free but, the possibility of survival in long-term holdings is way greater than trading.

At times holding is far more better than trading. You don't always buy and sell every time. If you actually believe on what your holding, you just have to be patient and let time do the needful.

The fact that you have already given holding an upper hand over trading seems bias to me..

Personally I have seen and read how hodlers have committed suicide because markets lost value sharply and people couldn't stand it..so for me both holding a d trading have their own ups and downs.

I don't think that's a biased statement.

Many investor lose money and some even take their own lives after losing everything, as you mentioned. The difference between trading and investing is time, decision-making style and risk. A long-term investor values holding for a long time. However, when a trader invests, he worries about when the right time will come for him to sell. That is, he finds a time when the price will stand at a profit. In both investments, decisions should be made by determining the level of risk tolerance. Investing with getting rich as the main goal keeps one away from making realistic decisions. Whichever method an investor chooses. It is important that his decisions are within his risk tolerance level and that he makes decisions in accordance with his financial management and capabilities.

Trading is a high-risk endeavor where not everyone succeeds; typically, only those with a strong financial standing and relevant experience manage to earn profits. In contrast, investing requires only basic knowledge and experience; if one has the capital, holding an investment over the long term can yield significant returns. Attempting to trade over an extended period often increases the risk of loss due to market volatility and reduces the likelihood of profit. Therefore, a long-term investment strategy is far more effective for improving one's financial position and securing future gains. Consequently, those focused on building wealth for the future avoid wasting time on trading; instead, they opt for long-term investments to strengthen their financial standing.
