Nice to see a one in all pool where you don't need to sign up for every new coin! Good job, this made me choose yours.

Hi everyone, here is one of the other way I test also works.

Download Blockchain files(Linux, Windows etc... all)
https://mega.co.nz/#!WE5DHKzZ!PSmdPTUVKIj5-8RF7yXwqoROG8pohFFzuzivKSWI15s

It has a blockchain up to 2500.

All you have to do it replace included files in your virtualcoin folder.

and re-run the linux file or windows. It does not change your wallet file. But again, good idea to make a backup of it before doing it.

Let me know if that helps.

This fixed it, thanks a lot dev! Smiley

Any news from Talesfromthescrypt ?
I mined there for several hours, and received nothing.
Then, i receive some this morning (far far from what i had to), and it's down since 7 hours.

We really could do with a block explorer for VC. Our pool is sending lots of coins out and we have transaction IDs for them all but users are saying they're not receiving them. It would be good to see where they are going.

Any updates from the Talesfromthescrypt pool? Website still says they're on maintenance and cannot log in. All my coins are stuck there.... I hope I don't get cheated. I was just beginning to like this pool and.... what is this? Pool science?

I have been mining from Minep.it from 4-15 but received no coins in my wallet.  At first I thought it was just a wallet problem and I kept mining between emails from MineP.it.  Now my wallet is the lasts version and syncs fine but still zero coin.  Minep.it told me all due coins have been paid out to my wallet and my receive address matches the pool's profile.  It's over 500 coins and I need help desperately   Cry

Hi Everyone, I have some technical background into Bitcoin protocol.

This issue is NOT related to Virtual Coin, it is the weakness in bitcoin protocol which is used by ALL coins. I reviewed the Virtual Coin code. Their is no issue. But been decentralized currency, this is weakness, once more clients connects, this thing happening again is very less.

I have been following this thread for day 1, again it is not something dev or Virtual Coin did, so lets not blame them.

In nutshell, blockchain was split at 1600 block, so after that some were mining blockchain #1 & others blockchain #2. So possibly example block 1700 were mined & getting coins at 2 different places. In reality that block (1700) should be awarded to one party, it was like 2 different coins.

Their was not much dev could have been able to do, other than enable only one blockchain using checkpoints.

To help out everyone, he double the reward, so anyone loosing coins mined between 1600-2000 etc could pickup 2x coins to cover the loss.

If you have mined coins before 1611 block, those coins are not affected regardless of which pool you used.

Wait for Pool OP to update their code, if they have not deleted their wallet.dat, coins should be still their.

if you made the withdraw after block 1600 on invalid blockchain, the transaction never took place, so coins will be still in Pool OP wallet.

whats the minimum payout?, i started mining in your pool

It was set at 100 from the old version of the coin Tongue

Have changed it to 1 now.

Thanks

To save as many coins as possible for users, I will use the new block chain which is used by most pools.

Minep, can you please PM or post
Block hashes for
1611
1612
1999
2000

Also please include SetBestChain from debug.log for height=2000
I will compile & upload beta test version. Hopefully most users will get their coins back.

Sorry for delay - but incase you still need it:

Have you made backup copies of all wallet.dat files used in your Pool?

if so, try loading these in Windows client once sync & confirm balance, if any user made withdraw after block 1611 using invalid blockchain, your pool will process it, but once you load correct blockchain, those coins should still be in your pool wallet as that transaction never took place in existing blockchain. I hope this make sense. Once you recover the coins, distribute it based on balance your miners had on block 1611.

If still need help, please pm me.

You were able to log in? I'm still getting the cannot log in while on maintenance mode. I did not set auto payout, and it just collected in the wallet there.

Regarding vc.talesfromthescrypt.org:
We're very sorry, but the new blockchain has left us unable to validate blocks past 1611, leaving us with a very large negative balance.  If anybody has any ideas of how to correct this, we are all ears.

So no pool right now are safe ? Solo farm miners raped the coin during 48 hours and we still can't mine safe in pools...

Hope i can recover my mined coins in minep.it

Minep.it is mining on the first blockchain and talesofscrypt is on second one, right ? Diff and hashrates are different. What a mess

the only solution now is remove all balance after block 1611. that's the risk we should take to direct the coin to the right way. anyway, reward double soon, so miner will recover their work in no time Smiley

The ONLY safe way to mine using pool is load your Windows Client, once it sync, go to Debug window
Help -> Debug Window -> Information
look for Current number of blocks:

Open up any pool of your choice & check that Current block matches. If not don't mine it, until they update it.

PLEASE DO NOT USE OLD 9.1.2 VERSION, Once 3000 blocks are reached, reward will double if using 9.1.3 version.

As of this post current block is 2894
