Petition to ban Scam_Exposer from Bitcointalk.  Vote yes.  It only takes a second.

Just clarifying, the test wallets will need to be deleted, and replaced with the full version wallets at launch time?

Yes. You need to delete the VirtualCoin folder by searching %appdata% in the start menu search bar. You can find it at Roaming>VirtualCoin

I'm sure you knew how to do it but some people probably don't.

Hey guys,
Looking to mine this coin from launch, looks good.
How do I set up solo mining? I've only pool mined until now.
Thanks in advance,

Laughyboy

It's a little hard type down but if you watch this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXOKhCrpomo
They guy will tell you how to do it. But instead of using CGMiner you need to use SPHMiner found here:
https://mega.co.nz/#!eZhiCZbA!BDE1xMfi_6iE-PVzXxda5KtAmMbBY5tMGwXKm-sIgKY      <--Make sure to copy the whole link and paste it in a new tab.

And, instead of typing the location of the qt and then -server in command prompt, just make a shortcut (of the wallet) and
right click> Properties> Go to where it says Target and just add -server to the end of the location of the QT (make sure there is a space between the location and -server.)
Then you can just click on the shortcut instead of using command prompt.
It may seen confusing on here but once you watch the video it'll probably be easier to understand.

You are on windows, right?
Hopefully this helps.

-Kyle

P.S. You probably want to test it out on another coin first. If you choose a coin with very low difficulty you'll probably find a block soon. Don't worry if it just says the "difficulty set to <something>", that's normal. Your computer is still trying to find a block.

P.P.S If it is your first time using SPHMiner, the .bat looks the same as a cgminer .bat so if you follow everything in the video you are good.
Oh, I forgot. I lied, in the .bat, instead of having it say "cgminer --scrypt" or whatever, you need to have it say "sgminer -k darkcoin" because this coin is based off the darkcoin hashing algorithm.

P.P.P.S. You might want to try solo mining dogecoin first, like in the video just to get used to the idea. (You will need cgminer, but I'm sure you knew)

Hey thanks for the info, is there any reason why I cant use cgminer?

Im not sure what my config setup would be in sph as I have my speeds and clock settings setup in cgminer, is it the same format in the .bat file?

Where do I find the wallet for the 00:00 launch? do I need to wait til then?

Thanks,

Laughyboy

No worries, the dev shouldn't have confirmed your time table..  Kinda made me wonder what was going on though.
