UI can be subjective at the end of the day. Unless it's full of annoying pop-up or something similar, I personally can tolerate some weird stuffs like custom fonts, weird color that don't really match my taste, and so on. As long as the function and text are understandable, it's not really a big issue. I think someone said they should move the onion link near the header too before, but even if they stick with the current UI I don't think it will make or break anything.

Evaluating a UI is certainly subjective, but as far as I’m concerned, the UI on the DEX.fo website looks good, and I don’t think there’s any need to change anything there. As for the placement of the onion link, on some competing platforms, that link is usually placed at the bottom as well, rather than in the header.

@examplens
Understood — that's a valid constraint. If your ISP blocks the domain, "just visit the site" isn't a useful answer.
We'll look into bringing the key reputation details into the thread and OP directly so users don't need a VPN just to read basic info. Will address this in the near future.
Thanks for flagging — accessibility matters.

@JeromeTash
Welcome to the thread and thanks for the honest context. The "surprise KYC after starting" scenario you described is exactly the kind of thing that erodes trust in this niche — once it happens to someone even once, they rightly start doubting every claim from every service. That's on the industry to prove, not on users to just believe.
Our position stays the same regardless of mode: no documents, no identity verification, no source-of-funds questions, ever. When you decide to test, feel free to start with a small amount — that's what we recommend for anyone trying a new service, including ours. Share the experience here whenever you're ready.

@Chikito
Thanks for the note. Consistent testing over time from active forum members is what actually builds a reputation worth anything. Five years in this space is more than enough to spot most of the patterns that matter. Appreciate you sticking with us.

@dwyane36
Congrats on the win! 🏆 And you captured the real point exactly — prize aside, the value in these prediction contests is in forcing yourself to think through direction, timing, and market structure. Reading the market carefully every week is a skill that compounds. Peanutswar keeps that going for the whole thread.

@joniboini
Yep — that b1exch KYC situation was discussed and it's a fair point of comparison. You're right that in this niche the reputation check needs to be layered: not just "does the service claim to be no-KYC" but also "have they walked that claim back under any conditions in the past." Track record over time is the only meaningful signal.

@dwyane36
Thanks for the feedback. Fair point about the onion link — bottom placement is indeed the more common pattern across privacy-focused platforms, so users familiar with the space usually know where to look for it. Not necessarily broken.
We'll keep the option open — if enough users specifically ask for it in the header, we'll consider moving it. Until then, current placement stays. No sense fixing something users find natural. 🙂
Glad the UI overall works for you.

Fair question — the escrow details, references and independent verification links are all documented on the site under the Reputation tab. Everything's in one place there so users don't have to hunt through the thread for scattered pieces..
Are you referring to the link to forum.exploit.in?

https://dex.fo/reputation

I tried to visit that link several times yesterday and today. It just displays a message saying the service is unavailable due to technical maintenance. It has been the same every single time I checked it, even though the message says it will be available soon.

You may want to consider sharing some information about the escrow here in this thread as well.

It's certainly pleasant to see more and more "competitors" entering the decentralized exchange market; it's great for us users seeing a wider variety of KYC-free options, something that wasn't available a few years ago and especially wasn't as fast, direct, and easy to use as they are now, including DEX.fo. I will personally try to test the exchange on the weekend, as I'm planning to acquire some more LTC. As for the exchange, it seems simple enough for even a complete idiot to use.
It would not be wrong to say that there were hardly any KYC-free exchanges like this in the past. But now, KYC-free exchanges are competing to complete transactions as easily as possible within a short time. The exchanges are providing their services properly and at the same time, if any problem arises, they resolve it very quickly. Customer-friendly exchanges truly deserve appreciation because they provide good service to their customers and continue solving their problems at all times. Dex.Fo is giving the highest level of focus to customer service and is gradually moving forward with progress.

It's working here:
It's not.

Your image displays their sign in/sign up page.
If you visit the link published on Dex.fo's website, you will see a maintenance message, as the one shown in the screenshot I shared in my previous post.

As I said, I checked it several times since yesterday, and every single time, it has been the same.

Edit:
The link is now working, but it redirects to the login page.

Yep, I agree bro. It is subjective, some might like it and some won't. But there are always UIs that are good enough for the majority, and I know UI is not the only thing that could be that breaking point which was necessary to make them famous haha. They are already doing great.

Pops would piss me off too. Instant exchanges like Dex.Fo understand such things because it is pretty basic stuff.

The government is now lenient or the exchanges have found how to fly without perching?

It can be very subjective, just as I can say everything is fine with DEX UI, another feel more life needs to be added. The most important thing is that standards are met, and everything works.

Is there a problem with DEX's website. Sending XMR is not possible. There are options for XMR Sending min: 0.00046912 XMR max: 6.24895677 XMR but the options to receive exchanged coins is absent. If you choose receiving other crypto the amounts load but XMR does not work. Is there a problem with DEX using XMR.

That's exploit.in forum for you. It's a closed forum and getting in or signing up seems a little bit harder. Well it's perhaps easier if you pay $200. I remember trying to sign up through the free option back then but after entering all the details, it would just redirect to page with the BTC address I am to first deposit the BTC before my account is activated.

Maybe it's temporarily disabled/under maintenance? Though I don't see any new information/events on the system status

In the past, quite a number of crypto related services would actually make security deposits there. It's probably one of forums where the idea of crypto service related security deposits came from, or perhaps it popularized them. I believe that's one of the reasons why DEX.fo made a security deposit there.

Maybe they can post a screenshot or something like that for people who can not access the website.

This is the first time I looked at the Dex.fo platform, and this is also when I felt interested to try out its exchange without having to log in but rather directly swapping the assets I want.

then there is also an escrow of btc for the dex.fo platform which is i think is not bad in my opinion. I hope their service lasts long in this field of this crypto space.

Nothing like that has actually happened. But we can see that some changes coming to the exchanges. There is no lenient from the government here, but I can see that the exchanges are moving towards business.

Well, I also tried to sign up on that forum. But after registering, I saw that it asked me to pay first to activate the account, so I didn't proceed.

But I noticed another thing. Almost everything I saw on the exploit.in (which is basically news section) link you provided was in Russian. So I was a little curious, is the entire forum content in Russian, or is there a separate section for English as well? Since can't access the forum

The forum admins are holding the funds.

The point is: it's harder for them to scam because they would lose 1 BTC. How can this be pointless? Smiley

I didn't say it's pointless that they have a 1 BTC escrow.
I said it's pointless that they have posted the information about their escrow on a forum that is inaccessible to most of us. I said this in response to logfiles' post saying "It's a closed forum and getting in or signing up seems a little bit harder. Well it's perhaps easier if you pay $200"

Do you want them to remove the information about their escrow on the other forum just because you can not access it? They do have 1 BTC in escrow, don't they? By knowing that, you can probably assume they won't scam you for $500 or $1000 because they would lose much more (1 BTC).

The 1 BTC escrow is there and the stakes are high if they ever scam. That's not a pointless information. Wink

I didn't ask them to remove the information about their escrow from the other forum. I just suggested that they share that here in this thread too.
You seem to be familiar with the other forum, but I am sure many Bitcointalk users (including me) are not.

They probably do, but I can't verify it because I don't have access to the other forum.
If they share the information about their escrow here, Bitcointalk users who don't have access to the other forum can verify that too. Just a suggestion.

Right. I agree.

That's not a pointless information. Wink
Again, I never said that's a pointless information.

That's fair, but it's in their website:

Exploit.in - 1 BTC in Deposit

If you get scammed, you can create a dispute and ask for a refund. That's how any escrow system works.

I can confirm they have 1 BTC deposited there.

That's not a pointless information. Wink
Again, I never said that's a pointless information.
What exactly is pointless, then? You literally wrote the word:

So, it's really pointless that they have posted the information about their 1 BTC escrow there.
They should post the escrow details here in this thread or on their own website, so that people can know who is holding the funds.
