As a Nigerian am aware that annually the senate approves the national budget for the year. This budget drives development for infrastructure, Education, Health and Defence. The federal government also allocate funds to the state government monthly through the federation account allocation committee (FAAC).To cap it all there has been an appreciation in naira. But the price of commodities in the market are still high with traders holding onto the old prices,while in the transportation sector touts and security personnel are imposing taxes on the driver giving hike to transport fare and in the education sector,The University precisely which manipulate expenses like tuition and health services  which are free into the fees paid by students.There is also a case of landlords who increase their rent annually.
I know the Government administration has been corrupt for more than a decade now but we the citizens unconsciously support this corruption.

Also in the area of irregular prices, the government has also failed to actually set up a price regulation committee to ensure that traders are not cheating buyers and also that the cost of transportation is fixed for certain distances as well as having strong tenancy rules supporting tenants to ensure that landlords do not increase their rents ridiculously and take advantage of tenants without any repercussions.

So yes, it is the fault of the government.

The temporary increase in the value of the Naira will not have any impact on the market. The price of goods in the market will decrease with the increase in the value of fiat only when the Naira stabilizes. It is foolish to expect that traders will also destabilize the price of their products with the instability of the Naira.

The form of public support for corrupt actions is always bribing when doing anything to smooth their interests, whether you go to court, you go to the police, you go to school and so on which creates a culture that is embedded in your society so that it is like you support the corrupt actions of irresponsible officials.
 
In a bad economy the government is partly responsible, they have the authority to make policies for economic recovery, or vice versa if the policy is wrong then it is the government that must be blamed for being incompetent in managing the country.
 
For example, today prices are rising very reasonably because world oil is increasing, forcing the government to increase oil prices (if subsidized) to keep the state budget in deficit, and this increase in oil affects all sectors because production and transportation costs become very expensive for businesses, workers, etc.

It is neither not the problems from the citizens but the authorities in the Senate Parliaments who implements the budgets and those who regulates the international market systems down to the local masyste and to the final consumers.

Don't forget that during inflations taxes also increases and the case of recessions also creates means of taxations for the tax forces and while some are legal or illegal dotn matter, during recession some bills also becomes unnecessary when it seems struggling for a common man to survive.

To hit the nail at the head, it does not also matter if the naira or the USD increases in value does not also mean it will moderate the cost of living, you just need to be reminded that the flats does not hold values against inflations like the digital assets or other potential valuables like the precious metals and real estates.

Country economy runs like a circle, failure in one sector will easily affect others. Prices of commodities, transportation and other can't be easily controlled here because a division in each of the sectors has failed. How can Government put fixed price on transport by kilometers when most roads are bad. Driving on a bad road consume more money from drivers for maintenance than good roads. So they can't expect a driver working on good road to have a fixed price with one on bad road. Another example is a welder running his shop on generator and one with electricity, there will surely a difference in price as the cost of source of electricity is different. In terms of food commodities, accessibility to road, land and other facilities may cause difference in farm output making fixed price implementation difficult. So, this should happen in Nigeria then the government will needs to put in place good facilities in all region of the country making all citizen to have almost equal benefit from the government. I will therefore direct most problem of bad economy to the government.

Yes, of course the government is responsible for its country's economy because this is what will make the people, including yourself, prosperous. But when the government is corrupt, they don't care about you, they only want the welfare of themselves, their families, and their groups. The country where you live is not much different from my country, too many corrupt politicians who do not serve their citizens well. In the end, we cannot rely entirely on the government, in any country there are always politicians like that, we are required to fight and stand on our own.

Yeah, the citizens do, but don't you think it would be hypocritical of the government to intervene in all these problems that you just highlighted, when they're clearly not making the lives of everyone easier in the first place?. Take for example, the increment/over hiking of house prices by house owners. Majority of these government has made owning a home more difficult as a result of inflation. Building material/cost is not longer a discussion for an average citizen. So, I think that alone has created a room for exploit from those who we can't really blame. Let's just see the situation as a single problem_{(from the government)}, that has resulted to another_{(from individuals)}.

The government are undoubtedly, the primary cause of all these problems. And being a primary cause of a problem, it doesn't give you the right to set rules for the same people that you've made lives a living hell for. It is very difficult right now to identify the good leaders among us because most at times those people that are seeking for office almost 98% of them have been tested before which is why it is always difficult to get the right person for the job, sometimes it is also got to a point that we even find it difficult to choose, but what normally happen in the process when choosing a leader, we don't look at the characters but what were after is money and all this happen due to their starvation and at that moment citizens don't have any opinions because they are desperately in need.

The government are just representatives of the people, helping to steer the way and ensure a good framework is in place for the country to prosper. If they make the wrong policies or are more interested in greedy self interests then it is possible that they could undermine the local citizens - they might get manipulated by mega corporations or foreign states into actions that do not help the average person. They also need to protect and build on the institutions that make a country great, like an independent judiciary, a central bank that sets it's own policies for the benefit of the currency, even down to how vital transport infrastructure is maintained. It takes a long time to build a functional structure to a country but it can be dismantled rather quickly if all politicians stop working for the benefit of the country.

As far as I'm concerned government is responsible for 90% of bad economy, same thing with a good economy, they should be praised if the economy of their country is progressive, they should be blamed if their economy is backwards. It is the government that makes laws, they are the ones that are in charge of revenue taxes, they make policies and makes national decisions on behalf of the whole country.

I believe that if a bad government gets good leaders to replace the incompetent leaders gradually their economy will turnaround for the better, likewise if incompetent leaders gets into the leadership of a progressive economy they will gradually kill their economy.
