Actually,that’s a good question.If I was a merchant I would do same thing because I won’t keep the price of my goods low when every other merchants are selling theirs in higher prices except I am a manufacturer that sells at cheap rates to wholesalers.But I believe you got my instance quite right,because I gave an instance of those merchants that doesn’t go through much stress or buy at a high price from manufacturer and sell at a high price to get their profits,but still they keep inflating prices on what they didn’t struggle for.But anyways,it is what it is and the government hasn’t been able to adjust the manipulation of prices in the market.

The truth is just that so many of us will actually so same thing if we are in a business place because making profit can actually influence our decisions heavily, and also they is actually a very big difference between making fair profit and taking advantage of situations unnecessarily, some business men and women take advantage of some kind of situation and increase price of goods just because they know the consumers have no choice and that is where we begin to see it as exploitation rather than a normal business.

You've mentioned the major causes of the problems that we have been facing, some parents are unable to register their children in school due to high cost of school fees,. And apart from that the educational system is gradually collapsing and it need to be fixed, so that the upcoming generations can receive the best education, support and guidance that is needed under the direction of teachers. School sectors required more knowledgeable, professional, qualified and satisfied teachers who have the ability to impact knowledge in the right proportion.

Even if hospital bill is not free of charge, at least the patient should receive the best treatment which is required, after paying a huge amount to fee, but no because some of the facilities/hospitals/or clinic lack the best, appropriate and suitable equipments that are required in order to carryout the treatment. Some times I begin to wonder the essence of saying that primary health care is always available, affordable, and easily accessible, when the cost of transportation has become more high, when the patient cannot receive treatment for free or at cheaper prices, and most importantly when they like the quality healthcare infrastructure that they need in order to receive the best treatment.

Governments are just forced by the rich companies and forced by the capitalists, hell even poor people who are not rich and yet support those business owners. Basic example, Mamdani is a guy at New York and he is a mayor, he is a socialist, and all he did was tax the people who are wealthy and buying up houses but not living there and just letting those houses sit empty, he just taxed them ab it more, nothing more, that's it, if you are rich enough to have millions of dollars worth of mansion that you do not even live in, you SHOULD be able to pay more taxes.

You're making sense here. Nigeria is a very rich country where everyone is supposed to be taken full care of based on their wealth, but what we face is real corruption in the highest order. Take for instance, according to This Day News report , in the last 2023 general election INEC admitted receiving about 313.4 Billion Naira for the electoral process that was still compromised against the people's wish which resulted to the bad economy we are into. Every election comes and goes and it appears that every incoming government must be worst than the outgoing one. We can may not be able to achieve all the things you mentioned for free but it can be greatly subsidised that the citizens will breathe a fresh breeze. I will say yes and No.( 1) yes in the sense that there are some policies that will wreck the economy because of the timing of the policy. For example the subsidy removal. It affected the economy so badly that those who are earning salaries end up saving nothing because of the high rate of cost of living. Prices of good and services is on the high side,house rent is up there choking tennants. The policy of the subsidy removal is good but the government should have fixed all the refineries first before embarking on the subsidy removal.

Op I understand you very well and I will tell you that the bad economy is cost by the federal government of Nigeria and not the state governments. Because economy policies are made by the federal government and the state governments only implement what the federal government established. What is happening in Nigeria today is the bad economic policies and the taxations. Nigeria federal government is collecting 6250 naira per cement bag so Dangote in return selling to the consumers 13,000 to 15,000 naira per cement bag.
And this is just for one commodity. Now you can see that the government is the cause of the bad economy in any country.

Sometimes I don’t know why someone will win election and become a president of a nation and then will start acting or doing things that will make their citizens to suffer, I really don’t understand why someone would be this wicked in making their own citizens to suffer.
