Actually,that’s a good question.If I was a merchant I would do same thing because I won’t keep the price of my goods low when every other merchants are selling theirs in higher prices except I am a manufacturer that sells at cheap rates to wholesalers.But I believe you got my instance quite right,because I gave an instance of those merchants that doesn’t go through much stress or buy at a high price from manufacturer and sell at a high price to get their profits,but still they keep inflating prices on what they didn’t struggle for.But anyways,it is what it is and the government hasn’t been able to adjust the manipulation of prices in the market.

You are right, in trading market every investor comes with proper planning and according to calculated risk and its the basic of business that risk is the first step of Success. Many successful investors don't gain financial stability and fails because they don't manage risk according to requirements. Some time fear becomes the hurdle in way to improve financial conditions and simultaneously taking risk with out any research is also a huge problem. So for investing proper planning, research and patience is one of the most important requirement. The worst thing is that they collect taxes AND still do nothing for their people. I live in a country like that, half of my money goes to government and all they do in return is just corruption and take our money, at this point they are wasting money on just salaries of government employees and pocket the rest. They even take loans from places like IMF or so, and then pocket the rest.

Indeed. The do maximum efforts to grab the taxes, meanwhile they do minimum efforts for the welfare of society. It seems we are living in the country that has a similar condition. Here, the government also prefers to raise the salaries of government employees. They don't care with the salaries of private employees. In my country, they take a loan from all possible sources. 

So overall, there are not that many decent governments in the world, but if there were, I bet you that taxes would be enough for everything, and nothing would be needed to be spent on any of this. You're right. There are very few governments that can be classified as ideal governments in the worlds. In most countries, the governments only try to enrich themselves. So, it is very reasonable that many countries have bad economy because the governments don't really care about it.

The government aren't responsible for anything but hot air, if the people elect them then they are ultimately the ones responsible for the crimes committed repeatedly in their name unchallenged.  

It is the mandate of people to vote for their officials but, it is still the government's responsibility to lead the people who voted for them. The people have a say on who's they're going to elect but if the leader is incompetent. I agree that they have the part of it to be blamed for. But such actions of the leader belongs to the leader himself and the government that they're leading. Both have responsibility and so, people only vote their leaders who they think will lead them properly and they're only doing their part for that.

No one expects the government to be perfect, but the moment they are still struggling with basic stuffs like good hospitals and healthcare, good roads, jobs, electricity and security, then it becomes very easy for citizens to question where all the money they collect from taxes and other revenues are going. Leaders should first of all prioritize service to the people rather than personal gain. And even if corruption actually does exists, which of course is normal for any government, but let the citizens first feel the positive impact of governance in their day to day lives.

Corruption is the sickness that is hard to eradicate in any government. It is the reason why a lot of politicians don't want to leave their positions. They can milk the public as long as they can. So if you have this kind of government, better take care of your own business and find a way how to improve your economic status. Don't rely any government's help because you will just get disappointed waiting.

This is a very good question that requires uncompromisied answer, I know most will politically answer this question in such a way it will suit there opinion while others will love to answer in a modest way. 
Before I move forward to provide the answer i assumed as its best, I will love to outline the basic functions of all government.
 Some of the functions of every government is to provide a conducive environment for citizens, protect the lifes and properties of citizens,  provide an economy that will eradicate poverty and hardship. 
After looking at some functions of the government,  we will see that it is always the government that is responsible for the provision of either a good or bad economy. When any government fails, the result is always hardship and bad economy

Actually, not the government but the whole society is the reason for the bad economic situation. Government alone can't do much if the society doesn't follow rules and isn't hard working. At the same time, government can't be good if the society doesn't follow rules and is lazy. The only escape for such society is a very good and talented leader that will be strict and fix the mentality of the society, attracts investors, invests in the education and grow a much better generation that will be highly educated, cultural and hard working. Then, the whole country will slowly become developed from developing.

As a Nigerian am aware that annually the senate approves the national budget for the year. This budget drives development for infrastructure, Education, Health and Defence. The federal government also allocate funds to the state government monthly through the federation account allocation committee (FAAC).To cap it all there has been an appreciation in naira. But the price of commodities in the market are still high with traders holding onto the old prices,while in the transportation sector touts and security personnel are imposing taxes on the driver giving hike to transport fare and in the education sector,The University precisely which manipulate expenses like tuition and health services  which are free into the fees paid by students.There is also a case of landlords who increase their rent annually.
I know the Government administration has been corrupt for more than a decade now but we the citizens unconsciously support this corruption.

The government should be doing it's best to support local businesses as much as possible and it often has to tread a fine line. It will often be looking to strike trade deals but they come with limitations on subsidies or too much support going to local businesses that could imbalance trade. In the end many businesses get setup and become successful despite government policies, because they already know the environment they're starting in. That being said, for some reason - maybe it's corruption, education or bad organization, but Nigeria has been unable to create many big multinationals which is unusually for it's size. Then again it can often enact some unfriendly and erratic actions which put off overseas businesses from investing. The volatility of its currency does not help.

There are many poor countries where the population is large and there is no work to earn a living because the bad government has not been able to attract foreign investment. Despite having sufficient resources in the country, due to lack of proper management, those resources cannot be used properly. The development of a country depends on the government in power in that country. If the government is honest, it is possible to make significant development in the country and can turn a large population into a public asset. Look at the example of China, although that country is in the largest position in the world in terms of population, the government prepared the necessary environment for the people to be hardworking through proper management. China is a great example for every country in the world that how they have developed as a hardworking nation and improved their financial condition.

I also agree with the fact that many successful businesses in difficult economies often grow because they understand how to survive within the environment rather than because the system is fully supportive of them and to be honestly, Nigeria have the population, talent, and market size to produce far more global multinational companies than it currently has but major issue to me is actually corruption, and currency volatility, because investors and business owners normally want environments where they can predict risk in a long term view and once business cannot plan well for the future, starting up that business becomes harder even when the opportunities are clearly there.

The government is not responsible for a bad economy, but if the government cannot run the country with justice and integrity, then the country will not be able to move forward economically. To build a country with a developed economy, the common people of that country and the government have to walk on the same border.

Well, can't really disagree with that. The importance of a country's citizens behavior for its betterment is often overlooked, which is not right, because if a country doesn't develop, it can't always be because of the government alone, because if the government is doing everything they can, but the people are not playing their part correctly, the government won't be able to keep the economy stable and make the country develop over time. It's our responsibility as citizens to make sure that we do whatever it takes to make our country great by contributing in things such as taking care of cleanliness, making sure the infrastructures stay good, making sure that we obey the laws and rules of the country, etc.

In countries where people are always breaking the law, they are not taking care of the things that the government creates for them, such as good roads, hospitals, schools, and all other institutions, they throw trash all around without taking the responsibility to use recycle bins or dustbins, then in such a country, the government can't be blamed alone for not making the country better, and not having a stable economy or any development. A country is controlled by a government, but it can only prosper and develop if there is discipline in the people of the country.
