Instead of worrying about the government with their selfish interest you spend your time thinking about how to improve your life without considering if the government even exist, everyone want good economy but we can't keep waiting for it when we can help ourselves, alot of people are self employed and they are working on their own comfort and improving their life style and standards, what the government is good at is making an empty promises and ask for second tenure.

The government is not even the problem those that are in the government are the problem because they are carrying there bad habits to the system because it's people that are occupying those positions, and if not because of there corrupt practices they will not be able to steal from those seat and they will do everything to get to does seat and not for anything but for them to steal and if there is nothing for them to steal then they won't have a choice to do the right thing and they will not want to be there because there is no extra benefit for them.

And the government that is suppose to take of things are the ones that are even extorting from the people they are suppose to take care of because people are been taxed for the betterment of the country and they are been taking advantage of the people because the economy of the country just have to change and it will only happen when the people working there will want to make it better.

As a Nigerian am aware that annually the senate approves the national budget for the year. This budget drives development for infrastructure, Education, Health and Defence. The federal government also allocate funds to the state government monthly through the federation account allocation committee (FAAC).To cap it all there has been an appreciation in naira. But the price of commodities in the market are still high with traders holding onto the old prices, while in the transportation sector touts and security personnel are imposing taxes on the driver giving hike to transport fare and in the education sector,The University precisely which manipulate expenses like tuition and health services  which are free into the fees paid by students. There is also a case of landlords who increase their rent annually.
I know the Government administration has been corrupt for more than a decade now but we the citizens unconsciously support this corruption.

I'm not sure about Nigeria's situation in particular but one thing to be aware of is that extractive exporters in developing countries are typically extremely powerful because they're either directly owned or indirectly controlled by multinational firms from developed countries, and since those countries and their firms are typically far more wealthy than domestic industries, they have outsized power, and abuse that power by corrupting the still weak and developing government to give them preferential treatment, allowing them to keep costs low, a large part of which is done by preventing labor laws from being passed, while also potentially escaping monopoly regulation, allowing them to push selling prices far above what it costs to produce when selling domestically. However they're export prices are probably lower because there they are more likely to have to actually compete.

This is one of the factors that prevents the economy from developing and keeps the government captured and weak, so while ultimately the local government is responsible, there are very strong exploitative international forces to take into account. If the local government wakes up one day and tries to take control back from these multinational extractive exporters, then the developed countries where those firms are based impose sanctions under the justification of "anti - capitalism" and/or draw attention to the fact that the government is anti democratic / corrupt (which it always was, they just decide to recognize it now), and sometimes even militarily intervene or the intel agencies assassinate leaders

I don't know why some people are still depending on government to do everything, because there is no way government can solve all human needs. This is my advise to everybody, not to relax on government which is impossible for government to supply all their need to experience such from government, because some government don't spend above their budget, because they know that there is no way they will satisfy everybody in the country.

I guess those blaming government are lazy human beings, because there are many opportunity in the country they can engage themselves that will make them to start making weekly or monthly salary that will make them to involve BTC investment, but some will never take such decision. It will be hard for the government to fixed the economy for people not to work or do business, because anything that will make you not to do all those things it will make you to experience hardship.

People these days are conformists. They want everything in their hands with little or no effort. Governments were established to help serve people. But not meet all of their needs. They don't have the solution to all of our problems. Things are worse these days because of corruption rampant in many countries.

Instead of governments serving the people, they serve themselves with every little dirty or corrupt scheme you can imagine. This has led us to the point where we are right now. The economy is broken in many places, where the rich are richer and the poor, poorer. It's not a single government responsible for a bad economy, but rather a collective effort of governments as a whole. I wouldn't expect to see a relief anytime soon. I'd "hodl" both BTC and Gold just to be safe.

I know the Government administration has been corrupt for more than a decade now but we the citizens unconsciously support this corruption.

Citizens are one of the reasons why a country will be more corrupt, but if anyone is to blame, the government are the ones to be blamed for it, if the government did the right thing, corruption will not be too much, and corruption will start from them and the citizens will follow their steps, a good leader must set a good example for the people to follow, and if the government gives jobs and employs people, I don't think corruption will be that much because property and lack of good work.

When it comes to anything that affects the country, the government should be held accountable because the way leaders treat their people is the same way people will behave themselves. Another reason I will continue to blame the government is that before you can work for the government, which requires you to study to be a civil servant, you must first get a connection.

These guys only care about themselves, they will make fake promises during their campaign and won't fulfill anyone. I remember what the president said during his campaign that if we don't have stable Electricity within his first term we should hold him accountable. But guess nothing has been improved in the electrical aspect. Prices of goods have skyrocket compared to the past tenures, Petrol , insecurity has become rampard. Everything is just messed in Nigeria while the political area there embezzling money everyday and store in a offshore account. We the citizens also have a problem we allow people who don't have good records to rule us because favoritism and 5k to buy vote. It very bad for a country who alot resources to still be suffering..

When the economy of a country is bad, the government is always responsible, because all these things you mentioned here can be regulated, and controlled by the federal government of Nigeria. For instance, the issue of insecurity in in Nigeria, you don't expect an ordinary people to fight against it, it is the federal government that is in position to do that.
When something is affecting the entire country, it is the government that can control it.
As government in power, when any decision is being made, it has to be carried out to the letter.
There are situations that will warrant the government to send out people to the market regulating prices of goods, and whoever that is found deviating from the government order will be punished, with this action, people will take precautions, and be well behaved.

In the area of infrastructural development, it is necessary to know that, though funds are allocated for this projects, but no supervision, thesame people that awards these contact still connive with the contractors to eat the contract money. If really you mean to develop your country, any contract issued out would be properly supervised, and monitored, and then you will achieve more appropriate result.

Honestly, in every bad economy, the government is a major contributor.

I don't think we can say that the government isn't supposed to meet all the needs when we are talking about the economy of a country. How is the government not responsible for a bad economy when they are the ones controlling and managing everything? It's not like the people of the country have a say in anything, they just pay their taxes to the government so that the government can use it and deliver the promises they usually make, but if a government can't do that, and instead, the country keeps taking loans from other countries or the world bank, it's the government that is at fault.

When we talk about corruption, it is basically to root of every problem. The government and its officials are not doing their job sincerely, which is the reason why the economy is unstable, and again, it's their fault for a bad economy and it's their duty to fulfill all the needs of a good economy when they are taking so much money in taxes from people. Unfortunately, this is a problem in so many countries nowadays.

Exactly, the government is the root of our problems, they are the major causes of the challenges that we are facing in our communities. When we talked about addressing corruption I think government is least we should call, because they are the officials who are highly involved in corruption. The majority of us are facing one problem of the other, I know is not going to be easy but honestly speaking the government has the potential, power, ability and capacity to address those issues, and problems that are causing so much challenges to the citizens. I keep wondering if they would ever attempt to address them.

It is correct that the governance system of a country is responsible for creating corruption in the country. The government of a country has to depend on bureaucrats to run the country who are clinging to the old system and are condoning corruption. Even if the government controls the governance system of the country, it is not easy to reduce the power of bureaucrats in important places because those influential people formulate policies to protect the interests of the elite community in the country and outside the country and provide them with more benefits.

If a government has strong will power, they can change the entire system but it will create political and social instability in the country. Politicians have a responsibility and the people have a responsibility because these people are giving the responsibility of public representatives to the sponsors of corruption through elections and providing opportunities for corruption.

The state is a form of a very large company and the government is the manager, so the failure of a country is the failure of the government that fails to take care of it, I agree that indeed the government is a contributor to why a country experiences poverty, a lot of crime, bad infrastructure, a society that is not prosperous and others are caused by a failed government, no matter whether it gets attacked from outside or not because this is already a form of responsibility as a government that must take care of everything for the citizens who are in it.
Starting from poor education and producing incompetent people then they enter the ranks of government because the government comes from the community itself and makes a country unable to do anything because in it are incompetent people so that any program will definitely fail which is the hallmark of a failed government.

The main difference between developed and non-developed country is lack of control on corruption. The developed countries are the one where government has taken all possible steps to control corruption in the country and government itself is also less corrupted. While in non-developed countries corruption is spread across all tiers equally. In later category, no matter how much tax public pays the situation of the country remain same because the money is going in wrong hands. Corruption needs to be eliminated if a country wants to prosper.

Not necessarily. Because even developed countries are vulnerable to corruption. The only way to fix this is by letting AI take over the world. Like AI governing ourselves, then just letting corrupt people do whatever they want. AI governance would require no human intervention whatsoever. Only then, our economy would prosper.

I wouldn't envision any improvements to the global economy, as long as corrupt politicians with their own interests are behind everything. Just my two sats.

Corruption is one of the factors that contribute to a country’s weak economic performance. However, it would be an oversimplification, and it seems like you are trying to place all the blame on the government while ignoring many other factor.

Geographic location and intervention or pressure from external forces can all contribute to weakening the economy, regardless of whether the government is corrupt or not.

Many wealthy countries are not rich because they are better at fighting corruption. Sometime, it is the result of centuries spent exploiting and plundering resources from other countries. Look at developed countries today, much of their wealth is tied to a bloody and brutal colonial history

people are often overly focused on inflation and corruption, assuming that money printing is the sole cause of a weak economy. But in reality, that is only part of a bigger picture. The government can still harm the economy through poor policies, weak governance, wasteful spending, or decisions that lack long term vision. These factor can also weaken the economy

Government should be held accountable when the economy perform poorly. However, do not wait for them to apologize and fix the problem before we take action. Instead of wasting time complaining and criticizing them, we should spend that time saving ourselves first. Because they do not care what we say.
Government needs to be responsible for a nation to do badly economically, but it is not the only problem. The system needs to be fixed, like if you are Zimbabwe, printing more is not the solution and you have to see that for example. Or if you are USA, then overspending on government, with NGO's and military and many more taking most of the money in a very inefficient way is not the way you should continue.

Cut down on spending everything that is not the basic need, and cut down all of military to half, and put zero on new development, just pay for the existing and VA's, and you are going to recover in 10 years and be the strongest economy the world will ever see. But obviously nobody will do that, it's just not the way people get votes when they say this, so instead, they spend more.

We have corrupt politicians both in developed and none developed countries, the difference is that there are more corrupt politicians in underdeveloped countries than that of the developed countries. Human beings have tendencies to be very corrupt when they get into leadership positions and when they get there if the institutions are not strong enough to checkmate corruption it will eat deeply into their the leadership structures.

To change the narrative for underdeveloped and backward countries is to change the leadership, if a new set of leaders that are proactive without the tendencies of being very corrupt with time the fortunes of their countries will be used for the right purposes. Citizens should vote out bad leaders in their countries and vote in people with proven integrity but the problem with underdeveloped countries is that the level of riggings in elections are alarming. These corrupt leaders knows that them and their likes cannot be voted for so they will resolve to rigging elections to favor bad leadership.

Not all non developed countries are corrupt, they are just lack the resources needed to build and because they don't have good internal revenue due to population and slow economy, the IMF and world bank doesn't borrow them more than they can pay back. The countries that has the resources to pay often get loan from international organization and countries and instead of them to use that money for what they had plans, they steal the money for personal gains.

Corruption and accountability has killed many countries growth and it's unfortunate that the foundation of those countries are built on that same corruption. Everyone now want to have the same slice of bread from the same system. Instead of them to focus on changing the system, they want to become their political ambition to have wealth they can share with their friends and family which is why the country refused to develop even for once.

I know corruption is a painful issue and fuels widespread frustration in most countries. Because people believe that politician use taxpayers' money for personal gain instead of investing it in improving the country.

But believe me, even if developing countries manage to get corruption under control, that alone will not necessarily improve their economies. Because there are dozens of factors causing instability and weakness in the economy.

Each country has its own problem. If we want our country to prosper, we first need to identify the root causes and come up with the right solution.

Greed may be one of them, but it is not necessarily the main cause.

I also see that in my country and it seems there is no other solution besides just being able to watch what the government does with all its corruption, and I think it will be very difficult to stop.
And what must be remembered is that the government will never be responsible for our lives, and I believe this happens in every country, especially in developing countries, of course, this is very excessive, so don't expect anything and just focus on working hard.

I know the Government administration has been corrupt for more than a decade now but we the citizens unconsciously support this corruption.
Yes, I definitely think that the government is completely responsible for the poor economy of a country, especially if the government structure of a country is corrupt, then that country lags far behind economically. If I have to say in the context of our country, then I would say that the government system of our country is completely corrupt and the government bureaucrats are even more corrupt. That is why the value of money in our country is gradually decreasing and inflation is increasing. The prices of our country's products are going out of reach every day, as a result, the poor class is becoming poorer and the middle class is losing their purchasing power. If the government system of a country does not follow correct and good governance policies, then that country will never achieve economic prosperity.
