Is Government Responsible For Bad Economy?

If the government is not responsible, then who is? Government are responsible, they play a very big role because they are the ones in charge of making the policies, planning, and implementing them to build a better economy..
The government are still the one to decide whether an economy moves forward or backward..

It’s solely responsible of a government to drive quality and visible policies for the benefits of general people. There’s no how the economy will move forward without a policy guidance, and it’s government that are in charge of policy making which makes it thier sole responsibility. Government anywhere in the world are the cardinal push for decisions making that translate to economic growth or economic decline. That's why we the citizens need to consider credible leaders when it comes to voting, we should go for someone that has experience on economy and is willing to give out to people.

You right, Government is a part of it because aside the them,there are people who also responsible for our bad economy.  Government is charge because they are ones running the country but citizens contribute to the development or destruction of any country. They are people whose actions are negatively affecting our economy from growing and the Reason I said government is a part of it is because they have fail on their responsibility to stop those corrupt people from destroying our economy. If the government were doing their constitutional responsibility, we will never have a bad economy.

As a Nigerian am aware that annually the senate approves the national budget for the year. This budget drives development for infrastructure, Education, Health and Defence. The federal government also allocate funds to the state government monthly through the federation account allocation committee (FAAC).To cap it all there has been an appreciation in naira. But the price of commodities in the market are still high with traders holding onto the old prices,while in the transportation sector touts and security personnel are imposing taxes on the driver giving hike to transport fare and in the education sector,The University precisely which manipulate expenses like tuition and health services  which are free into the fees paid by students.There is also a case of landlords who increase their rent annually.
I know the Government administration has been corrupt for more than a decade now but we the citizens unconsciously support this corruption.

There are questions that needs not to be asked because we already know the answer to them, the government are responsible for everything that goes on in a country and what makes the country develop too, they are the ones that formulate policies in the country which borders on the economy of any country, that's why the people lament when Tinubu postulated a policy of tax increment and they finally signed it into bill and both the rich and the poor are paying tax today on every transaction and money received or sent, yet this tax money is not used for anything tangible and visible to Nigerians.

After the federal government allocates funds to the state and local government, you don't expect the prices of commodities to fall drastically because there's high price in fuel and that's the major factor determines the prices cost of commodities in the country, the government should work on fuel price and build refineries or rehabilitate the ones we have to be function and you will see the prices of goods reduced automatically.

There is no one responsible for bad economy than the government. If Nigeria is like this today, it is simply because the government of the people have failed, they have let the people down. If there is increased rate of crime in the country now, it is simply because the government are not providing job for the people, instead of poverty to be eradicated, the people are suffering more, the rich are getting richer while the poor are getting poorer.

There is need for the president of the country to address the insecurities in the country, but the most annoying part of it is that Tinibu being the president have paid deaf ears to the cries and the complaints of the people, and he isn't bothered because none of his children are in this country to feel the heat that the common man is feeling.
Lots of life's and properties have been lost so far because of the constant problems and killing by the bandits.

We will continue to face insecurities, bad economy unless we the masses and the citizens come together as one and get our PVCs so that when election comes, we will put hands together to vote Tinibu out because he is the reason behind the pains of Nigerians at this moment.
Until we are able to get rid of the stingy, selfish and arrogant man, we won't live in peace in this country. Tinibu should go for us to have good government, he should go for our economy to get better, he should go for Nigerians to sleep peacefully at night.
Nigerians, let's come together to put an end to bad governance and bad government.

Sure they are responsible for all this nonsense happening, putting people life at risk and danger, all wat they are after is just the money no simple sympathy for the innocent souls again they are just chasing the money for their self and family and people no longer get comfortable in their comfort zone again, we just hope we get back our better life's again.

Government is the dead tree that falls on the track, they have no productive utility but sure can get in the way.  I would not blame government for an entire system of failure, ultimately the people have to let it happen also; usually its distorted overspending overtaxing for some kind of welfare or support budget.   It can also be for war and waste there or in some countries the people campaign for restriction of free trade, this leads to higher costs and poverty.
  If people vote in a government they are where the buck stops for enabling the destruction, if you are governed by a military then its not even a government its a hostage situation.

There's truth in what you said. But I want to oppose your arguement. If you can recall when Peter Obi was contesting for election, everyone was happy and ready to help whenever they can. I am not saying we don't have corrupt citizens, all I am saying is that the leaders up there make us want to steal or not. Take for instance other countries like China that have good leader, there's no way anyone can steal. Why? Because it is death sentence. At the end of the day, the leaders make us do things according to what they do. Period.

How sure are you they don't steal in China? No government is completely responsible not to steal under their administration, only that while others may steal and not forget the actual reason they were elected into the position, African countries, using Nigeria as a typical example, our leaders are sole focused on enriching themselves and their generation, without rendering public service.

If the government has the right to that specific point, how them is the government not responsible for a failed economy. Its the right time we stop confusing ourselves on this because I know the government is fully responsible for a failed economy.
