A long-awaited all-British heavyweight mega-fight is finally confirmed:
https://news.sky.com/story/anthony-joshua-and-tyson-fury-fight-confirmed-13537221

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will square off sometime in Q4 this year, possibly in November. The location is not yet known.
Before that happens, Joshua will fight Albanian Kristian Prenga in July. I understand the fight against Tyson Fury is not contingent on AJ beating Prenga.

I'm not at all surprised to hear this news, but I didn't expect them to sign the deal before AJ's July fight.

He gave a significant move that it could be signed during an interview, he didn’t literally accept but he was like “‘maybe” let’s see how it goes.

But my most interest is the fact that fury has retired over and over and still seeking attention, knowing fully well that Joshua after his accident that took his friends lives, the world will be looking at him if he could still fight through that pain, so more attention will be on him that’s why fury wants to fight him for more validation.

I’d say this is a big fight, the kind of championship fight people have been waiting for, and it looks like it’s finally going to happen late in 2026.

So I decided to check the betting odds, and I was surprised to see Fury as the favorite, while Joshua is sitting at around 2.5 odds. I’m not really sure yet if that’s accurate though since it still feels too early. Maybe once it’s already listed properly in the bookies, then we can say it’s really confirmed.

for now, I can only see the odds in https://www.oddschecker.com/boxing/fights/tyson-fury-v-anthony-joshua/winner

At last Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury will fight. I have really been waiting for this match and finally it will happen.

If I should predict who is going to win this match, I do not know, but Usyk won both of them two times. The way Anthony Joshua won Francis Ngannou, I will prefer to pick him because Francis Ngannou still dragged with Tyson fury

I think so too that Fury will be the favorite to win this match but Joshua shouldn't be underestimated tbh. Yeah this comes surprising but I think a lot will probably get that odd now considering the fight has still a long way to go and it could even changed if he wins/lost the fight with Prenga this July.

@OP, this is an interesting matchup. Even though the odds posted above favor Fury, I think people here are divided, so I’d like to see how everyone really feels. I suggest you create a poll for this.

As for me, I’m going with Fury, although sometimes he can be very unpredictable depending on whether he comes into the fight in good shape. Still, I really like his ring IQ. Joshua has also been dropped many times before, even against a shorter and heavier guy, so it’s very possible that Fury could do the same to him.

My prediction here is Fury by KO. I think the fight will be over in 6 rounds or less.

This is a fight that has long waited on. I am happy it came to be, for Fury and Joshua to test their power over who owns the boxing ring over the other because they have long envisioned fighting against each other someday in the future.

It is confirmed that this last quarter of the year will bring an answer to who will continue with his boxing career or put a stop to, boxing for the last time because they have lost their willpower to continue being relevant in boxing federation

I am surprised that Fury is still doing it. He looks like he isn’t in boxing shape but I guess that isn’t anything new. Both of these guys seem like their prime is behind them, but it should be a good fight. I think Joshua takes home the win.

First, Joshua needs to get past Christian Prenga, and he should finish Prenga in a good fashion, so people will believe that he is very much ready because so much is at stake in this fight; there is no legitimate world title involved, but for both fighters, it's important because at stake is what they represent in the British soil.
Whoever wins here will be crowned possibly the greatest modern British heavyweight fighter of the modern generation, so it's going to be a blockbuster fight.

Before that happens, Joshua will fight Albanian Kristian Prenga in July. I understand the fight against Tyson Fury is not contingent on AJ beating Prenga.
Finally they are fighting well past their prime years. Would be great if they fought 5 years earlier in their prime when they were still undefeated, the hype behind the fight would have been incredible, still there will be interest in this bout but not like when they have fought in their prime.

I'm not at all surprised to hear this news, but I didn't expect them to sign the deal before AJ's July fight.
A common theme in Boxing, these high profile fighters avoid fighting each other in their prime and would agree well past their prime. Manny Pacquiao was 36 and Floyd Mayweather 38 when they fought even though the fans wanted that fight to take place long before that and that is the case here, Fury will be 38 and AJ 37 when the fight takes place.

Since that accident in Nigeria where he lost some of his friends, I haven’t really been keeping up with Anthony Joshua’s updates like before. But this Fury vs Joshua fight is something else, I will definitely tune in for it. It has been a long time coming and it is one of those fights you just don’t want to miss. Both fighters have a lot to prove and it feels like this one will finally settle all the long debates between them. Plus, with the kind of rivalry and hype around it, the atmosphere alone will be crazy. It is not just a fight, it is more like a moment every boxing fan has been waiting for. Lot's of money will go down in this fight.

At least this fight is going to happen as we have been hearing this for years already.

I wonder though if both fighters or at least one of them lost their tune up fight. Will the fight continue? Or will the hype be dampen because of that? I remember the Garcia vs Haney rematch being plan ahead.

But Garcia lost to Romero and then Haney winning. But it looks like that plan is being shove off by He Turki.

Or AJ could take fight against Prenga easy, as he will be expecting bigger check for fight against Fury. His mission in the fight would be not to get injured and KOed (because then some athletic commission did not allow to fight next 6 months). If the paycheck for Fury is much higher, AJ might even skip Prenga, pay fine and still end with huge profit.

That fight against Prenga is only needed to test AJs new coaches. Prenga is ranked 32 in the world, why he even face AJ ?

I look forward to seeing this fight between two experienced heavyweights, it's always good to watch boxing fights among the very best and I believe that they will thrill boxing fans all around the world. Fury, is coming out of retirement yet again and Joshua, is coming out of an accident and lose of his friends so they both have something to prove to the boxing fans and themselves that they are still relevant despite any shortcomings. I don't know who I'm going to put my money on yet among the two so I'll just be following up and see what to make of it, boxing is good money at their levels so I'm not surprised that they are going into a fight after coming out of retirement and accident.

This fight have been highly anticipated, and we have been waiting for this matchup for a very long time, Anthony Joshua and Fury will be a grate encounter and the fight will be so much anticipated and both team will definitely be showing a grate performance, both fighters have been making so much noise concerning this game.

The last time Tyson Fury fought, I think there was an encounter between both of them outside the ring making noise about signing the contract, and it was just a huge noise that was made and now they’re going to be fighting and after signing that contract.

Nothing is bad for them signing the deal before the match against Prenga, so that both parties will be aware of what's ahead for them. The match has been long awaited and now that both parties have decided to give the boxing fans this match, they don't have to waste time, they have to get it sealed to avoid any last minute disappointment. Because the last time the match wanted to happen both parties couldn't agree.

These two great boxing heavyweight should have fought when they were in prime and had perfect boxing records. Now one returns from another retirement, other did not have a win or good fight since 2024 and comes after car accident. Nevertheless it will be a great fight for fans, and even greater if they fight in UK. I think in this fight Anthony Joshua has more chances of winning, because Tyson Fury did not look what he used to be in last fights. Even though their age and records are almost identical, Anthony Joshua today looks more prepared and active boxer.

Fury just can’t seem to bring his career to an end. I think he would have done it a long time ago, but the desire to earn a few more million keeps pulling him back. Even though realistically, he’s already made enough money to last him and his children for generations.

I don’t even know what to expect from this fight, a lot will depend on the kind of shape Fury is in when he steps into the ring. These constant swings when he says his career is over and then returns to training can’t be good for his physical condition.

As for Joshua, I think he’s training hard right now, but he’s had a few major setbacks in his career, and dealing with that isn’t always easy either.
To be honest, this fight doesn’t interest me that much. I’m not particularly invested in who wins, but I’d like Joshua to come out on top so he can regain his confidence, and for Fury to finally retire, the retirement I’m sure he’s been thinking about for a while.

I think so too that Fury will be the favorite to win this match but Joshua shouldn't be underestimated tbh. Yeah this comes surprising but I think a lot will probably get that odd now considering the fight has still a long way to go and it could even changed if he wins/lost the fight with Prenga this July.
Joshua had a winning streak after losing to Usyk, but then he lost to Daniel Dubois, and that clearly tells us he struggles against top-level boxers. I think Fury belongs in that category, and that’s probably one reason why the bookies made Joshua the underdog even if he has been the more active fighter between the two.

As for Fury, he also got a win just this month, so that shows he can still perform well, and this kind of big fight is exactly the type he likes.

Grin interesting everyone has been waiting for this news and finally it has come, the fight will be a wonderful one, Fury demanded for the fight, I watched a video online where Fury was telling AJ he wants to fight him and he should sign it AJ don’t turn down such offers I knew he would also want to fight Fury because that has been his plan for a very long time, AJ will surely beat Fury very well, Fury should get ready to get beaten Grin.
