Lack of money alone is not the only reason why gamblers get addicted, because I have seen people who has money and yet still struggling with gambling addiction, but rather what I think is the root problem is self control and contentment. Because until a gambler can have self control over his urge of wanting to satisfy his immediate gratification, and the urge of wanting to chase after loses even after playing for quite a long time and you noticed you have little or no chance of winning against the casino. So until each gambler is able to write them that thing that makes gambling irresistible for him, and makes a clear plan on how to resolve it, gambling addiction will still remain a major challenge in the gambling community.
agree with this important point, what you said is true, if not, no rich person will be addicted although this is also rare but it is real, I think for people that already has money, for them it about making more money, when they lose in the process, some of them will want to win back thsoe losses and by doing so they might keep losing which will make not to stop unknowingly to them thar they are fully into gambling addiction.
One of the thing I noticed why gambling addiction will continue to persist is that many gamblers do not know when when to say they are done for the meantime and that is because of the false hope they give to themselves that they might recover if they keep playing.
