Rousey vs Carano

I can’t imagine anyone wanting to see Nate Diaz fight again. The getting covered in his own blood every time he fights thing is sort of cool, but he is never going to win another fight. He looked terrible and he can barely string together a sentence… Mike Perry looked good though.

No wonder Nate barely talks, as he smokes weed all the time. I also doubt that he has got a higher education and really graduated from school (maybe school just gave him papers and kicked out problem child). As to his fighting stile, Nate was always like that. Instead of winning the fight, he likes and wants to win the crowd. I think he even on purpose allow to beat him, than makes one slap or punch that everyone remember, as if he wants to say "you cant beat me anyway" or "you can hit me as much as you want, but the last blow still belongs to me". He is weirdo, but he is originally a bjj, not a striker.

I have not heard of Carano before

Carano is more an actor then fighter but also both by some experience.   I would say Hollywood star but perhaps bigger on tv, Carino was most recently in Disney production of the Mandolorian.    They later removed her from the cast despite a success in filming and audience reception due to political comments on Twitter.  Seems like nonsense to me but free speech would be too controversial I guess.

LOL, I guess you don't know what womens UFC is prior to Ronda. And then calling Carano as more of a actor is very wrong mate. Even Ronda admitted during their press conference that Gina paved the way for the 145 lbs bantamweight division.

The only thing that is also similar with this two is that after their career was over in the UFC, they moved to Hollywood, even in the Fast and the Furious franchise, 6 & 7. So whatever we can say, Carano started everything even way before she moves to UFC.

The Diaz brothers were responsible for changing the anti doping rule to remove marijuana from their banned substances list, and they have been advocating weed for over a decade.

I also doubt that he has got a higher education and really graduated from school (maybe school just gave him papers and kicked out problem child)

The Diaz brothers do not switch off and on in front of the camera like others fighters, they have the same behavior in front of the camera as they do in normal life.

The Diaz brothers started practicing karate well before getting into BJJ under Cesar Gracie and was practicing boxing under Richard Perez. The Diaz brothers were also sparring partners for Andre Ward, who was a world class boxer. These credentials are more than enough to be elite striker in my opinion.

Seems like Americans misunderstanding what free speech means once more. Free speech means you will not be jailed for whatever you say, I mean even in that case there are stuff you can't say, like you can't say" I am going to kill the president of USA" and get away with it, they will jail you just in case so you do not get to do that.

But aside from that, you can SAY whatever you want, you won't be jailed. Doesn't mean that in a capitalist world, a company that hires you to make profit for them, will see you talk and make them lose money and still keep employing you. That is not within the jurisdiction of free speech, it doesn't mean there will be zero consequences whenever you open your mouth. You can still be fired from your job, just not jailed. How in the hell a whole nation doesn't understands this is beyond me.

I wonder how much they are getting for this fight. Rousey was retired for almost a decade, and Carano for more than a decade and a half. For them to get out of retirement for this fight, they must be getting paid pretty well.

Just an additional off-topic info, Gina Carano is an actress that appeard on Deadpool.

I just did a quick search and I was marveled. I am surprised she appeared in the first film of Deadpool. Wow. CraZy love that movie. Isn't she kind of old for a fight. I mean Gina is 44. She's supposed to stay retired. I won't say it's money. I mean she has it already. She's doing well for an actress. I mean both of them. I can understand Rousey coming back to fight. But she, something is fishy somewhere. Either way, I wish them the best.

Once a fighter, always a fighter, both women missed fighting in the Octagon, so when it was offered, they took it for all time's sake or to prove that they still have it, and of course, for the money.

Agreed! America encourages free speech, however, this does not imply that there will not be consequences for you hehehe. However, America also has the second amendment where you can own a gun and defend your freedoms. This includes free speech.

There are many politicians that are fighting to remove Americans' right to bear arms, however. Much of these politicians are from the Democratic party.

She also played a kinda big role in the Mandalorian series actually, even had a tiny role in the martial arts "classic" blood and bone, which I actually really like. 
Anyway, too bad it was the kinda expected quick and unspectacular finish. When I clicked on the "full highlights" video and saw it was only 40 seconds long I knew what i was in for.

I was wondering under what context you are sharing these aspects here in a discussion about a fight card.
Not all Americans think that free speech means you can say anything, only Libertarians think like that. There is no protection of free speech for incitement, fraud and perjury.

Progressives and Liberals within the Democratic party are in favor of this ban, They preach about free speech, but they will silence the views they do not like. Not too long ago, many people were restricted and banned on social media and silenced for expressing their political opinion.

It is highly unlikely you will see Ronda Rousey back in the fight game. She returned because her legacy was losing two fights in a row, and she wanted to end her career on a win and that too against a pioneer. She achieved that, and I will be surprised if she fights again.

I can't believe nobody has created a thread for this fight yet.  I guess you must all be too young to know about Gina Carano...

We can all see yesterday in the first round that Rousey had locked Carano's arm in the first round, I watched the fight between the two of them, I saw clearly how Rousey slammed and locked Carano's arm which made Carano surrender in a matter of seconds, it is clear that Carano is no longer Rousey's opponent at this time.

I often watch MMA fights until they bleed, but I applaud Rousey for not doing it to Carano, this is just a professional fight, Rousey didn't hurt her, just by locking the arms the bet is over, this is a positive thing for both of them.

Well, it's not what I expected at all. I think many viewers were disappointed in the same way. 17 seconds and that's it? I wonder if Jake Paul expected such a short fight or not... There was virtually no spectacle.

Well, I didn't watch the fight but when I heard the outcome I wasn't really surprised because I have seen how Rousey fights and I know she would win easily. I don't really know Carano that much, I don't really know if she prepared for that match or perhaps she got distracted but it was quite disappointing to those that paid tickets to watch that fight because they didn't really get their money's worth.
