Yes, in any situation gambling in a disciplined manner by following the right rules and gambling with money that you can afford to lose and maintaining self-control is the real smart one. If you are able to control how you bet so that you don't lose the profit you have made to gambling, this will reduce the possibility of you losing too much money to gambling. Being smart supposed to entail how how you are able to maintain your bankroll so that you don't lose everything. A gambler that don't know how to manage money will always have problem with gambling and how to maintain bankroll so gambling will not eat up all the money. With big bets in my opinion, it's not smarter but they take risks, although sometimes we think that these big bets can more easily get a win but basically everything depends on luck. With small capital and small stakes, it is possible to get a big win as well as with large bets too, this is only the difference in the appearance of the numbers that we see because basically in gambling the victory depends on luck so no one is smarter in gambling except to say that taking risks is more reasonable in my opinion. I myself if choosing which one is more profitable of course is a big bet but again it depends on the luck of each.

Luck is just the ultimate key in gambling, that is why its not underrated when it comes to gambling and people that thinks they can stake high are not even consider responsible and those who can't also manage their emotions are also consider not to be responsible, understanding that gambling is for fun and is supported by luck, the best for us because we can be able to navigate through our emotions and keep everything in balanced including our emotions.

I am glad you said there are many factors to know a smart gambler and gamblers that is not smart. However, there are some characteristics that every smart gambler has, and any gambler that didn't have these characteristics shouldn't be considered a smart gambler.

I consider smart gamblers to be individuals who manage their gambling discipline, psychology, manage risk, and bankroll rather than relying on chance/luck. Because the reality of the game is that the house edge is set, and no luck, longterm gaming, or amount staked can change it.

I believe smartness in gambling means how often you win your your bet, and not making one big win in a life time. Someone can be lucky to win a life changing bet after gambling for so many seasons, and could only come once. There are gamblers who win bet often, and on, though they might also loose bet sometimes, but their winning comes more often than they loose. While winning a life changing bet is okay, not every low staking gambler experiences it, but every smart gambler will always be on the side of making more profit than losses.

To me, the smartest person is not the one who wins more, but the one who can control himself even after winning.  Because winning big with big capital sounds good, but a bad streak often ends the entire balance. And as far as I have seen, confidence and greed in gambling change the situation very quickly. Which basically comes from the excitement of winning, that is, due to the dopamine release. Based on what you have made mention i think the smarter person is the one who can control themselves and only use money they can afford to lose while gambling and people even misunderstand all this and do there own thing…and which most gambler are just greedy that cause their own and it not something that should be that…always bet what you can afford to lose interest of regret tomorrow…

They are both indeed taking risks based on their financial level; if we are to look at it from the area which you are also picturing it, people should gamble only with the little they have, not with the hope of winning and gambling continuously but for the sake of gambling and knowing their limit. It's true what you said, in gambling we should be able to maintain balance especially when the results obtained are disappointing, because most people will feel emotional when the results are disappointing and it leads to out of control gambling.

I get it from the angle you are coming from, if am  correct you are trying to say that weather you are a big gambler or a petty gambler it doesn't make you smart but what makes you smart is you been able the maintain your wins and loses and not to continuously lose beyond your winnings. What if you loose too much over a long period of time before getting a serious win, it doesn't go as far as making up for your loses over the period does it? Those times you lost have been damaging and a serious lost but then how do you use a current heavy win to make up for a long ago heavy lost

The one who bets low. You see when he loses, it doesn’t hurt him and doesn’t pressure him into playing more so as to recover. But when he wins, it’s multiplied since he only placed a small amount. The big player has probably won due to many more chances of winning.

Gamble is not a profession or to be considered as a source of income, anyone who manages to win from gambling only won because they where lucky it's not about your skill or how knowledgeable you are concerning that particular type of game be it football,  baseball basketball and .... so the point I'm driving to is that risk management should be the criteria to determine who is wise among a cautious gambler and a gambler who uses huge amount to bet. Even if you use a huge sum of money to gamble and you win the bet chances are that you will end up losing it back because of your big stake mentality.
