I agree that would be better but COMM is not traded anywhere now so how would you convince a developer team to take COMM as "payment". That's why the next best things to do is burn the coins and reduce the overall supply
It wouldn't be easy, but a big enough CommCoin reward and the prospect of valorization if relaunched might convince someone to take the job. After all 70 million CommCoin at even 50 satoshi would be worth 35 BTC. But I agree, burning would be the fairest thing to do other than returning it to the rightful owners I don't know much about tech thing. If COMM does have something that is technically advanced, maybe it is worth a try for some devs. |

we can use a new code/new wallet and do a coin swap, with a deadline
after the deadline, we can burn the untaken coins and also have some for development
i know at least one coin that did this method (KTK to PHORE) and i believe the developers have done a good job so far

CommCoin was a good coin that shouldn't have died, and the proof is still working, on auto-cruise but working.
How can we manage to get a team to check the tires, oil, brakes, etc and relaunch it? There's plenty of much worse coins still spinning around.

I should do something with this fund. i think it was part of the liquidation process and since bumbacoin was the last one to modify the code (not the original dev), he was given the private keys to the 70million COMM that was still in the cryptsy wallet. are you a developer familiar with crypto code? if you look a few pages back you'll see this history (which i've pasted the chucks below): Our team obtained many of the cryptocurrencies that were frozen on Cryptsy's servers when the exchange collapsed. The CommunityCoin wallet.dat was among those recovered. We are now in the process of giving these wallet files back to their respective communities. The wallet has not been inspected and it's unknown if it contains any coins. addnode=118.232.9.247:50000 heh is comm worth reviving ?? i gots de Cryptsy wallet (thanks MicroGuy  ) on a cursory inspection it has ~70million coins and putting staking=0 in yr conf doesnt work  i'm just going to do a full sync from scratch for competleness  . only current exchange crypto-trade is showing their Comm wallet as connected, but not syncing, if you want comm to be tradeable, pls feel free to msg them with a support request a full sync leads to difficulties :p
