bump
I just found this post on the CGA thread about their fix for the new OpenSSL vulnerability. Apparently it is called the Heartbleed bug and allows anyone on the Internet to read the memory of the systems protected by the vulnerable versions of the OpenSSL software. It looks like most coin's Qt wallets will need updating to the latest OpenSSL version because of this, including bitcoin's Qt wallet.

Ok Windows wallet has been updated (1.3.3.3) with the latest OpenSSL release (1.0.1g) to fix the "heartbleed bug" I am working on getting a clean OSX build environment so I can update the OSX wallet. I suggest Linux users update there version of OpenSSL and recompile the wallet.

This update is not mandatory but is strongly advised. To learn more about the bug read here: http://heartbleed.com/

WIN: http://cganomaly.com/downloads/CGA_1.3.3.3_WIN.exe

"A bug in OpenSSL, used by Bitcoin-Qt/Bitcoin Core, could allow your bitcoins to be stolen. Immediately updating Bitcoin Core to 0.9.1 is required in some cases, especially if you're using 0.9.0. "

A quick question for the dev:

Can this bug affect Communitycoin?

everyone try to get somebody in to comm we need about 100 members more to reach 500
http://communitycoin.info/apply/

What about my status? As we spoke on the other Re:[ANN] thread.

i applied at he old version (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=529481.msg5985540#msg5985540). Just before you started the online application form. With the old rules. I posted on  btc post (as linked above on March 30, 2014, 10:42:22AM) and made a facebook post with with a wallet. then after few days when i realize i was not getting my coins  i came to check back on the thread that was locked i saw that you guys issued this online application. Thinking since i did not receive those coins i should fill the forms online. Unfortunately when i applied online and made a mistake to put a new wallet address and not the one posted on facebook. i explain this to you on the Re[ANN] thread. i replied on facebook post with the new address that was used on the online application. Not sure what else i can do anymore.

thank you

howdy, what say you?

looking for C++ coders , web-dev and coin-devs to join karmacoin team. We are trying to expand. we have so many goals. Challenge accepted?  PM me.

CommunityCoin v1.2 is using OpenSSL 1.0.1e and is therefore vulnerable.

On the upside I see we now have a block explorer - I'll send my donation pledge asap.

The bug can affect the exchanges COMM is traded on. COMM itself is using OpenSSL 1.0.1e and is therefore vulnerable, as BitcoinFX just pointed out.

I cannot find anything on the mintpal website about them having to upgrade to fix the OpenSSL vulnerability, but it is sure to be fixed by the time COMM is listed there, if it needs fixing .

The only exchange currently trading COMM, AllCrypt.com, upgraded the SSL of the server as soon as they heard about it

https://www.allcrypt.com/blog/2014/04/allcrypt-com-safe-from-ssl-heartbleed-bug/

Even the really big exchanges are affected. Bitstamp decided to temporally deactivate: -account registration -account login -and all virtual currency withdrawal functions while fixing the OpenSSL vulnerability.

https://www.bitstamp.net/article/statement-regarding-opensll-vulnerability/

Later, Bitstamp Support made a post stating Bitstamp is now secure from the reported OpenSSL vulnerability. Account registration and login functionality have been restored. All API keys have been reset. Finally, withdrawals will be restored by 8:00 GMT tomorrow.

From mintpal twitter: Our external facing services have recently been patched and are not affected by the #OpenSSL #heartbleed vulnerability.

I guess I'm out of the running?

Been pretty active in this thread and refreshing it everyday, been voting on Mintpal, plus got the wallet running. Dunno what else I can do.

Hope I'm worthy enough.

Still waiting for word on my application, still crossing fingers and hoping it goes through. Is there any way to get an update?

I'll support this coin even if I don't get any, but it'd be nice to be an actual part of the community with some.

Voting on Mintpal!! Cheesy
