People manage disappointment and frustration differently, especially when it has to do with gambling. In any case, you've to deal with the situation, but ending your life surely isn't a solution, in fact you cause more harm to those you're leaving behind when you decide to end it all.

A say event happened last month of which a 42 year old man who sold both of his cars and used it's process to play aviator game and lost everything there subsequently decided to end his life with a hunting gun.

A ZESCO employee has taken his life after reportedly losing money from the sale of two vehicles on Aviator, an online casino game populary known as Kandeke.

The victim, identified as Mulenga Kashiba, a junior engineer, is reported to have shot himself using a hunting rifle, Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Mwala Yuyi has confirmed.

“Preliminary investigations have reviewed that the deceased previously sold his two Honda fit cars at a value not known and used all the proceeds to bet on aviator casino game and lost the bet and from that time he has been having a lot of misunderstandings with his wife,” Mr Yuyi said.

Mr Yuyi explained the victim was discovered by his brother following a call from their mother.

“He [the brother] rushed home and on arrival by the gate he heard a gunshot sound coming from inside the house.

“He rushed inside the house and discovered that the bedroom door was locked and he managed force it open and upon entering the room he found the deceased in the pool of blood.

This also underscore the need for emotional and physical support from the immediate family and friends in the wake of such a mistake from a family member because part of his difficulties may have come from issues with his wife which made him feel very miserable and saw no reason to continue living.

He messed up in the first place by gambling recklessly, which was redeemable since he still had a job and could get back on his feet, but took the worst option to end his life. He didn't end his misery, he compounded issues for those he left behind. Every addicted gambler needs a second chance to make things right, too bad the guy in the story blew it up for himself.

I think that no matter the mistakes we've made in gambling, the worst solution to it is suicide, there's always the possibility of a brighter future, but it's only for the living.

He chose to take a shortcut and leave everything & everyone behind... and some would see that as cowardice... but don't get me wrong, these things are complicated, and it's much more than a "cowardice vs bravery" discussion.

Exactly... He walked away from struggles instead of facing them, but the burden remained with those who were left behind.

He messed up... he lost himself somewhere along the way. Don't do things without thinking about the consequences. Don't be that guy... Don't go too deep if you don't know how to swim.

Be careful out there... It's a thin line, and it's easy to cross it, and once you cross it, there may be no way back! So be careful and don't do something you will regret later.

I think it's more of a cowardice behaviour, because only a coward thinks the best way to handle a problem is to take their own life. There are people who are faced with far worst situations and they still face the situation head on and not to take their own lives. The mistake that most people who thinks suicidal is that they believe immediately they take their lives, everything would end and all the problems would go away, but any reasonable person would know that the is far from the truth, first of all no one knows what's on the other side of life, you have no idea whether you'll go face a fate that's far worse than what you planned to abandon here on earth. Secondly, they have no idea the pains and responsibilities they'll be leaving for their loved ones.

Never make mistakes when it comes to your finance because the consequences will affect you and your family for very long time.

Exactly, running away would've even been far more better than taking his own life, that's just a very stupid way to thing of salvaging such situation, cos the truth is that ypu are not really solving the problem but just dumping the problem for your family, Now they'll have to pay that back that debt with pain and misery. Honestly, people should really learn to thing rationally.

The risk should always justify the means. Leaving is clearly not the best decision because there is responsibility to others. Did he seek help from a psychologist or other specialists? No, did he ask his friends or family for help? Pulling the trigger is not the best decision, especially when your parents are waiting for you at home. He felt sorry for himself and betrayed those who loved him.

Suicide is never an option or a way out of debt or loss from gambling or even divorce.
The post comes with a sad note and goes to show how friends could be a negative influence, because am sure this guy in question got the idea from somewhere or even from close friends or colleagues he works with and thought it as a good way to double his luck and was definitely shocked by the huge loss.
Am sure the guy never tried such before or was much of a gambler, maybe he just started newly and thought he would be lucky. Who knows?
Gambling is a bad way to double your income or pay off debts. It only gets you deeper into misery when the losses start rolling in.

That is stupid. The most stupid decision someone can make is to take his own life. Whatever happens with the betting there is always a solution, even when the debt accumulated seems unbearable if the person works hard and wants to clear it with the help of God he will achieve success. It is as simple as wanting really bad to get out of this dead end tunnel it may seem at first for people who are in such situation, yet as I said for every problem there is a solution, there are extreme rare cases with incurable diseases where there is no true solution but in gambling there is possibility for hope in every situation you may find yourself sucked in. In fact, when people become addicted to gambling, they do not like anything other than gambling and then they move away from their normal thinking, then they sell their house and car and do not hesitate to gamble. It happens that someone bets his own wife and his own child. Gambling addiction is a very serious addiction. Initially, gamblers gamble for fun and they think that they will play some gambling here and there, due to which they can make some profit, it will help them meet their daily expenses. In this way, they become deeply addicted, then after losing everything, they take loans from different places and when they are faced with a lot of loans, they choose the path of suicide at the last moment because they are not able to pay them. No one wants to end their life easily, the situation forces them to do it. And then they think that is the right solution

That's a very stupid thing to do as a human because of gambling that will still remain, even when they are no longer existing. Then, if they can handle the pressure of gambling, why are they still gambling? Committing suicide due to losing money in gambling is not a solution, instead it will only cause deep wounds for the people you leave behind. I understand that it is very frustrating to lose so much money in an instant, but there are still other ways to stay alive and start everything over, never feel like it is the end of the world. Just try to stay alive and ask for help from others to support your life-- if there is no one close to you, ask for help where you can get help, surely there are people who will help you to start everything over.

Irresponsible gambling can result to irresponsible decisions and the extreme of it is taking one's life because of the frustration and pains of losing everything, now the dead knows nothing so it is his loved ones that will suffer the bigger lose of their suicide. Depression can lead people to consider suicide and if they are not strong enough to come out of it by themselves or share the thought with somebody that can talk them out of it they will likely kill themselves. Knowing that gambling is not about making more money or becoming rich through it,and yet, they still gamble with that same mindset, what do they expect other than to face the consequences of their actions and accept their fate because the brought that on themselves. And this should also serve as a lesson to other people, so that they won't hae to make such mistakes again expect they also want to cross this path and have a taste of it, but people who wants to be responsible will make the right decision.

I had a friend who decided the same. It was trading, not gambling, but it looks same. I see his parents every year. They still can`t understand why he did it. He is free, but his parents, his friends. all of us think that we could help him. We live with this thought. We feel ourselves guilty.

The worst thing that anybody can do - suicide. It is not decision, it is just escape from troubles. Be responsible - decide your problem.

Suicide can never be the right decision to release yourself from the pain of losing everything through gambling. The idea that suicide can never be the solution to all problems is completely wrong. No matter how bad the situation is, adapting to it and learning from mistakes and moving forward is the real solution. The truly intelligent ones are those who lose everything and rebuild themselves in a new way and move forward accordingly. Before starting gambling it is very important for us to gain proper knowledge about gambling. It is better to decide to gamble with money that we can afford to lose and that will not cause financial stress due to losing.

Depression and despair indeed corrupt the mind of a person into doing things that are unthinkable.  I bet the person is in deep depression because of the losses he can't afford to lose, plus the possible pressure from his wife.

Ending life due to mistakes is not the right thing to do.  The person, due to his muddled brain, because of depression and despair, failed to think that his job could recover his losses.  I think the disagreement with his wife is the biggest factor in why this guy committed suicide.

I always think, you can say something like this, but doen't know the feels and situation the person are facing these problem same with other problem (even is not abotu gambling). Cause everyone who are giving advice is using a logic.

While people who facing a problem are majority use their feels + with some confused to fight or handle the situation.
