By default I'm using Bpip extensions installed on my desktop browser, while other functions depend on what I want to do or what I want to search/access, which will determine which tool I'm using. Let me not forget that Talkimg, the official forum image uploader, is also a tool I use here.…

This forum is not a social media. It is a discussion forum where discussions are held on various topics, especially on the topic of Bitcoin. So there is no inbuilt special functionality here and it is not needed. However, if you want to use any special functionality, then you have to use various 3rd party extensions. For example, I use

- Bpip Extension (Most Effective and daily used for)
- ShadowPulse Extension (for Pulse quality post and Dark mode)

👉 Search 🔍 option: This may sound simple but very important, but many people are not interested in using it.
Here you can first search for your question and find the answer, if you don't find the answer, you can post it.

👉 Profile page
Also, there are some 👇 very useful options on your profile page which you can see in the three options below.

1) View the latest posts of this person.
2) View the latest topics started by this person.
3) View the general statistics of this member.

⭐Merit: If you go to the 'Merit' option from your profile page, you will see if anyone has given any rating to your post.

✅Trust: If you go to this option, you will see if anyone has any opinion about the reliability and accuracy of any of your posts.

I don't understand what function you are talking about. I guess the simple answer is that you should go around the community and familiarized yourself.

The search bar in the top right corner allows you to find existing topics. I also use the Profile Info and Modify Profile sections in the profile section. The top left corner also shows new replies to your posts.
The home section is a very common way to browse all available boards. Everything works well for as long as I need it.

Beyond that, there are tools that make things easier, like the BPIP extension and several others like ninjastic.space and talkimg for displaying images.

I'm not confident enough to call myself a master of the forum, despite being a member for nearly a decade. Using those features is only optional for regular discussion, and to be honest, I rarely do. It's better to thoroughly mastering the forum rules; this will not only prevent you from violating them, but also contribute to reporting violations.

You only need as many features are as necessary for you to use the forum. Some users need to use watchlist, adjust their board views by ignoring some and ignore a good number of users while some others do not use a hose but they still both can enjoy the forum and understand it fully.

Use it the way it works for you. Try out features and decide if it's a fit for you or not and discover which are essential for almost all users.

Dunno, to me this is just a basic forum, similar to many others that have been around for decades, and not complicated at all to use. One feature that I think is seriously underused is "Ignore" button, and I think this forum would be a much better place if more members start using it.

To be honest, "Search" option that we have here is not very good, and I don't remember the last time I used it. BitList works much better for that purpose.

Your question seemed a bit convoluted to me. Actually, this forum is just for everyone to discuss. And to do this, the default functions of this forum are enough. For example, creating topics, replaying, viewing trust feedback of one's profile, and viewing merit, etc. With these, you can verify a good member and important posts.

But if you want to understand everything in easy way, then you definitely need to use some third party tools or extensions. And all these are created by the members of this forum.
Among them, the ones I use are :

Notifier Bot (for all kinds of notifications in telegram)
Bitlist Search (Forum searches are very slow and sometimes inaccurate, so i use this tools for better searching)
BPIP Extension (for verifying user profiles and viewing DT status)
Modern Editor + One-Click Image Upload (I use this for one click image uploading, and when need format my posts)
One Click Bitcointalk Post Translator (This helps me to properly understand the hard English post into my local language)
Bitcointalk Mobile Friendly Script (This is must for me, because to access this forum from mobile devices is too difficult, and this is life saver to me)

As for the rest of the functions or options, they were never needed by me. For searching certain things, ninjastic/bitlist and google based forum search option. Lastly 3rd party tools like bpip, notifier bot, BDDb score, and shadowpulse, etc and that's about it...no more. Anyway, in most of times, you don't actually need any function, just write your thing, and click on post, and you are good to go.

I think I am just like you honestly using all function is doable but I don't, all the functions I mostly use has been keeping me going for years now and I have not had any problems with it.
Regardless of what I use I encourage you to checkout as much feature as you can and also if many suits you them you should be regularly using it, so what I am saying is that it is based on what you want to do and which feature can help you do that.

The functions are set up there for effective posting on the forum and not just for fancy. if you are posting a lengthy text that requires you to make use of them so your work can be properly structured, that is when it serves a very perfect function. but using it just to prove that you understand it functionality and end up messing your work is not actually the best.

if you are just giving a simple explanation or answer to a thread that does not demand you to input an image, it is completely out of place to go on imputing any image.  i can use almost all the functions that are on the forum but only make use of the necessary ones when there is a need to.

I think that only use the features that you feel you really need to use them because not all of them are necessary to use, for example, there are some users who use the 'ignore' or 'report' features, but there are also those who don't feel the need to use them because they are not needed. It's okay if you just want to understand the use of these features, but if you want to use them, you should be aware of the purpose of the feature being used.

Yes, exactly, I am also confused. Like we have a lot of tools for the BitcoinTalk forum, and OP is just asking for forum functions which are, I guess, the merit function, the quote function, reply function, creating a new thread function, closing thread function, and self-moderated thread function, Trust function, placing signature and avatar function, and many a lot, including those that you aforementioned in SS. And if OP wants to know about only these funaction that these are the main ones that he needs to understand as a newbie on this forum.

Aside from this, if OP wants to know helpful tools for this forum, then this is a different thing, and there are many tools. There are quite a lot, but the features of this forum I use most often are the search icon, which I use to search for specific information or a specific user. As a newbie, you should use the search icon more often. This will prevent you from asking repeated questions like some newbies do. It is not nice for anyone to be in this forum and not use it.

Another feature is the profile picture. From time to time, I look at other users’ profiles, check out interesting posts, or go through their post history if there is something suspicious about the user. I also check my own profile to see the latest changes, read an old post, or anything else that may prompt me to check my profile.

Others are the message icon and constantly navigating through boards and sub-boards. BBCode and TalkImg are still among those features. You’ll need to learn how to use them for effortless use of this forum.

It is important that we know all the functions that are available, but we must also be minded that it is not compulsory that we make use of all this functions except they are being applicable for us on certain conditions for use, but when we are aware of them, we will definitely know which area should we apply the use of one function of the other, that everything is there does not mean we must engage them all at the same time except you need arises.

After so many years in this forum, I know many functions that, for no specific reason, I don't use. I have even translated guides about how they work, and I know their importance and/or utility, but once I get used to navigate in certain way it is hard for me to change habits. So I basically use Home, Profile and My Messages most, the basic buttons for posting and previewing, the merit button, and the search bar (not as much as I should). I hardly ever use Help, Search, Members or More, Trust, flags or report to moderator (although I was active in Patrol before), and never ignore, watch or notify (the Supernotifier is more than enough for me). I think that these last ones are important to know, but not so essential to use in all cases.
