I'd rather try to ignore him. Different person, different way to live. There is a person can life peacefully even when he's gambling, while there's also someone who can't life peacefully when he was not gambling due to the different problem.

Just never fall to the others expectation because anyone has different needs.

Sometimes it is necessary to not care about others, sometimes life is always misperceived, we are perceived by others as living a peaceful life despite gambling - on the contrary, we think that peaceful people can be responsible when we don't know how life really is.

Excessive gambling is bad, but we already know the limits, when to stop, now we just have to control it ourselves and only ourselves can do this not others.

Critical thinking is fine sometimes I also receive criticism from friends because of gambling so I take advice by taking the positives.

There’s truth on this words especially if you belong to the group of people that vulnerable on risk which you can’t handle properly the risk involved on gambling.

This is a general warning to avoid financial damage since not everyone can handle gambling in responsible way.

I don’t take it personally if I knew to myself that I can gamble well.

I know most of us here are gamblers, but what if one day someone close to you says this, maybe your family or friends. And let’s say you are a gambler who has not faced any serious problem from gambling, and you believe you are a responsible gambler.

Would you try to educate them and explain that not all gamblers are addicted or irresponsible? Or would you just ignore it because they already have a fixed mindset about gambling?

Well I may not respond to such person because I know that since his/her mindset is fixed on that probably there is nothing I can say or do that will change his mind about how he feels about gambling, it is better to stay silent about it. But thought it depends on situation, ther is a situation or if it's a kind of person that is understandable, I may try to explain to him about gambling, that not all gamblers are addicted or not all gamblers are wasting their precious life in gambling.

But if the person is already closed-minded and only wants to judge, then maybe there is no need to argue. Sometimes it is better to let your actions prove that you are still in control.

Many people are close-minded & judgmental when it comes to gambling, so why even bother trying to convince anyone... Even with your close ones, arguing is pointless, so as you wrote, it's better to let your actions speak for you. Almost anything can become unhealthy if a person has no control, but if your finances, responsibilities, and life generally are under control, that says more than any words can.

Only people who are very close to me know that I gamble, and people close to me, who have earned the right to tell me this, know I gamble very responsibly. So there is a high chance that whoever tells me this doesn't know me.
For me, it depends on who the person is to me and how they say it. If it's some random person that I owe no explanation to, who is just being judgmental, I would let him know it's not my business.
There are other situations and people I would explain to, but it would only be people and situations that deserve an explanation.

This kind of mentality is the reason many gambler's are having most of the problems they're experiencing in gamble today. Perhaps we find no fun in it when we aren't on our winning streak. I don't fancy this idea because it can result one to start seeing gamble as a source of income which is very wrong and can also result addiction in most cases.

I think the primary reason or goal we gamble should be for fun, every other benefits that's attached to it should be secondary. Moreover, immediately winning become the first priority addiction and lost chasing becomes inevitable.

I have been in a situation where someone boldly told me I'm only deceiving myself to be saying that I'm responsible when it comes to gambling and that I'm actually losing it gradually; I just nodded my head as if I agreed to his statement and moved on. There are only a few situations where I will want to get things cleared, but in most cases I remain silent and walk away.

When people found out I was gambling a lot, they constantly told me about the dangers of this activity. And guess what? I, of course, didn't even want to hear about it. And what happened in the end? People easily get attached to anything that makes money, it's why gambling is not a good one if you lack discipline, so the advices are correct, from the one who claim that gambling won't give you peace and from OP who dropped his own opinion too, gambling shouldn't be handled with emotions.

Gambling favours those who are not attached to it, gambling is way more safer for those who have having some great time only, they put aside their source of income and they choose gambling as a way to have some entertainment.

The line between a responsible and irresponsible gambler is actually what makes people see gambling as either bad, good or neutral. So many people have had it bad with gambling owning to addiction and based off the statistics if someone said gambling is bad it's pretty much understandable.

Normally, society sees gamblers generally as people who are irresponsible. You won't blame them though. Because they have seen gambling ruin many people's life than it actually changing people's lives.

I don't mind hear they saying that and I don't have to explain anything to them. But I can tells them that I can still control myself and I am responsible gamblers. But gambling has existed since ancient times, as well as games in general. Play in a broad sense is a part of social interaction. Excitement is about giving a game an incentive to achieve results.

I am tired of explaining those kind of folks who believes that gambling is destructive exercise because no matter how you get to explain yourself, they will still have their personal reasons to counter your opinion.

I have always talked to such people that gambling is not a bad activity instead, it is those gamblers who falls victims out of it in one way or the other either by the emotions tortures after loosing more than they can afford or had been victims of addiction that should be blame over the FUDs that makes gambling look bad to their understandings.

Those gambling responsibly always have peace of mind because they only bets according to their affordability in both time and money. They also don't chase loose so that they don't fall out of their bankrolls.

I will tell the person that he is right, but I will further it with saying that I am only doing it for fun and that I always advise people to do it for fun and not a way of making money. Gambling addiction is not good, I do not want anyone to be in such situation, so I will see what the person said to be true, but we have exceptions.

Many people see gambling as a destructive act and you cannot blame them because bad news travels faster and it is mainly the stories of irresponsible and addictive gamblers that flys around than responsible gambling. I used to have that mindset too before I started to try out gambling and realized that you don't have to be addicted to gambling as a gambler, you can decide to gamble responsibly, it is a matter of disciplining yourself.

Unfortunately some gamblers don't think that it is possible to gamble for fun but they are wrong, just because they don't have that level of discipline doesn't mean that it is not possible. You can choose to entertain yourself in gambling with small amounts that you are comfortable to loose so loses won't be such a big deal for you.

Due to the increase in the rate of gambling addiction cases in my location, many people have the perception that all gambling should be avoided entirely. Even if you tell them that you have full control over your gambling behaviour, most of them will not accept it. They might be thinking that with time the effect will begin to manifest in your life. All you can do is to enlighten them that gambling is just like any other form of entertainment if it is handled responsibly.

I'll just keep quiet when I hear people like that, because why? Because the societal stigma against gambling is already so bad due to the behavior of addicted gamblers, it's useless even if I explain in as much detail as possible that not all gamblers are as bad as they think, it won't completely change their perspective.
But perhaps I'll say a few words, as well as provide proof that I gamble responsibly if they really do criticize me harshly, and then I'll let it go. As long as they're not harming me and I'm not harming anyone else, I don't really care.

If you're a gambler that people around you know and they are not fellow gambler, there's no explanation you're going to give them that you're not an addict, they will see you as an irresponsible person.

In most religious setting, gambling is not a welcomed lifestyle regardless of how frequent or little you're gambling. Because of that, your explanation that you're a responsible gambler doesn't always hold water for someone that's already not in the system because there are a lot of gamblers that have gotten things wrong because of that, even the responsible ones can't boost of going about gambling the right way.

It's a free world, everyone can have their opinions.

The society already see gambling as a threat to individuals, so they consider anyone who is into gambling as someone who lost his path. Though not always true.

Gambling can be recreational, could be fun.but what happens when people gets too serious with their gambling activities? They get addicted.

Gambling is fun when we are winning. Even if the wins are not consistent it should just be. It gets boring and stressful when there is little o no winning. Gamblers gets frustrated and wants to force their way by taking reckless risk.

So I wont blame anyone because they called gambling a bad habit. It goes one when you don't get a hold of yourself.
