Everyone's view on gambling certainly differs. Some are more tolerant, as long as we don't involve them. There are also those who are already against gambling and don't want to be associated with gamblers. 
For me, I don't need to bother explaining anything to them. I will do what I want to do. Although it is very possible that we as gamblers will lose control in the future, we know our limits and the people around us, and those we trust the most may serve as an alarm for us to stop everything.

When a person have a fix mindset about gamblers, their is nothing you will say that will make that person to think otherwise about gambling, so it's pointless and a waste of your precious time trying to convince such persons to think otherwise about it.
In our society some people sees gamblers as irresponsible set of people, while some see those that are gambling as people that are just trying their luck, or doing it for fun, but I believe that it will be hard to see a society or a group of persons now that sees anyone that is gambling as an addict, because people are not that naive any longer to be thinking such way.

In the case of gambling, excessive addiction harms gamblers more. So if someone cannot control themselves, it is beneficial for everyone to control themselves rather than blaming gambling. It is not right to blame gambling to cover up one's own failures. If someone does not have confidence in themselves, it is better for them not to do it. Another thing is that no one is forced to do this or there is no need to encourage them. It is also not necessary to say that you can gamble in a limited range with control. Rather, it is the personal freedom of an adult person to do it or not. Because no one can change people's ideas or what they have been taught in advance. Therefore, it is the personal freedom of a person to gamble or not for temporary entertainment. Each person's perspective is different, so no one needs to change that.

Is very important for gambler's to always look inward and not distracted by public perception and opinions about gambling, since gambling have it own pressure that comes with with we shouldn't combine other pressure from other's, what we must focus on is to build the decipline that can keep us gambling responsibly for as long as possible in other not to fall into addiction because that is the only time that our gambling activities will put us on bad spotlight to the public.

In my understanding, gambling is an activity, hobby, game and so on, every individual should have free time to do all these activities, should not spend 24 hours in gambling.

In my view someone who is responsible for gambling or gambling activities, they often gamble in their spare time. What I see is that they often gamble between 4-6 in the morning, they really distribute their time efficiently.

For this reason, those who really manage their time well are the ones who are professionals at gambling.

I know most of us here are gamblers, but what if one day someone close to you says this, maybe your family or friends. And let’s say you are a gambler who has not faced any serious problem from gambling, and you believe you are a responsible gambler.

For me, I think it depends on the person. If they are just concerned about me, I would probably explain my side calmly. I would tell them that I understand why they think that way, because gambling has ruined many people’s lives. But at the same time, not everyone who gambles is destroying their life.

Some people gamble for fun, with limits, and without using money meant for important things. But if the person is already closed-minded and only wants to judge, then maybe there is no need to argue. Sometimes it is better to let your actions prove that you are still in control.

I don't know for others, but as for me I will never underestimate someone who is looking out for me, I will try my best to make them understand. But some who judged you as a result of ignorant or in form of mockery, the last time I checked, you owe them no explanation. The way you choose to live your life is non of any body's business, and they have no rights to judge you. As long as you know that you are actually doing the right, then you are good to go. But when it comes to gamble, it's really important to take people's advice seriously, you don't have to ignore them or take their advice for granted, but still don't let their hurtful words get to you. Families and friends will advise you about the effect of gambling, because they have seen other people going through it.

Sometimes, people who make such statements aren't entirely ignorant of gambling and the risks involved. I've seen people who went from top to become financially stagnant because of their involvement in gambling so each time they see anyone threading that path, they seize every opportunity to preach against gambling.
But such statements shouldn't be a thing of concern for anyone who actually control their emotions and gambling engagements. If such statements gets a gambler worried, it means they're most probably not in full control of their gambling activities and should try and do a self introspection to ascertain wether to continue or not.

I don't need to educate anyone, or even defend my gambling to random people. But if it's close friend, i would take an example to compare it with by taking any of their vices and asking how much of their budget they are spending on it. And i will GUARANTEE that my percentage for gambling budget is lower. That's because people usually spend significant amount of money on their vices.

Difference between gambling and other vices is that some people think that gambling is some sort of investment that they are making their money back and more with. This is the case especially for people who think it ruins lives, because it would if people gambled like their idea of a gambler is.

Following a game naturally with no cram work is the best way to approach gambling.

No matter what you say or explain to some people they will refuse to believe that there are people that actually gamble without getting addicted to it, to them every gambler is an addicted player or lives irresponsibly. One thing I have come to terms with is that everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

Let us put it this way, just mind your own business. You will for sure have your own techniques and strategies, and it will form your own personality as an athlete for example or as a player. Just like poker players, they have acquired their skills thru the years of playing. They may copied some techniques but I would say you can have your own way of approaching things thru time. It is not an overnight skill that you will acquire, usually it will be years of playing and watching.

People will just jump into conlcusion that they are irresponsible and wasting money on it but if they are educated enough then they would not say that unless the person is addicted, so make sure you are not losing more money than you should and just keep the opinions of others away from your heart.

There is a level of entertainment that when it gets to such level, it becomes improper. Gambling should be all fun and entertaining, a little touch of extra gain, however, when the emotions has grown wild, expectations becomes inadequately overgrown, it isn't a crime to advise them or have discussions concerning gambling habits.

Although, you can't tell a responsible gambler this sort of words, I have known both addicts and responsible gamblers, you can't tell exactly if they can gamble, except they tell you directly, in the same circle or or gamble in your presence, addicts are the ones that shows visible characteristics as soon as the consequences kicks in.

But sometimes, it's only when you get closer to them that you will truly realize that these individuals were actually gambling an amount they could always afford losing, and were visibly very comfortable with that, inasmuch as it wasn't affecting their finance and their day to day activities. Because when you see an addict, it's always very obvious to identify them by the way they gamble and misuse money irresponsibly.

However, if I'm to find myself in a scenario whereby a close friend or relative who sees that I gamble misunderstood me to be an addict, simply because I gamble, I will immediately clear their doubt that I'm not an addict, but one who gambles responsibly.

I respond straight up by saying, it's my choice!

Those who advice people against gambling could be right with many gamblers, but they are also wrong with so many gamblers, lifestyle matters. There are responsible gamblers, and I tell you that there are gamblers who are positive in their portfolio. You can imagine advising such people against gambling, it would be as if you are insane.

Above all, you don't just jump into conclusions and start judging people based on what they do. If it's not affecting anyone negatively, I think gambling is cool. Otherwise, I join those people to urge them to quit.

I will tell the person that he is right, but I will further it with saying that I am only doing it for fun and that I always advise people to do it for fun and not a way of making money. Gambling addiction is not good, I do not want anyone to be in such situation, so I will see what the person said to be true, but we have exceptions.

I always give this advice to everyone but now it has become like this is just our basic advice and to comfort someone. You wonder if you can always follow it yourself. I always try to gamble as much as I can afford to lose and I can follow it but suddenly sometimes it seems that I get too excited and I don't follow my own rules. And that day I end up losing all my money. It is a very challenging thing to always keep yourself in control.
