I will say that sometimes familiarity can reduce caution, you see when people are always around gambling it will start looking like harmless or normal thing to them,even when they know the risk involved. That's why knowledge alone can't always protect someone from bad habits. Alot of times, giving yourself boundaries and always maintaining that self discipline is the real and important thing to do, especially when the temptation is constantly happening around you.

Since in most casinos that I have been to I have noticed that they hire more male workers than female workers hence you might not be wrong when you say it is the male gamblers that have been noticed more from the workers instead of the female gamblers because they are obviously more than the female. I see the reason why a casino worker will decide to become a gambler since they would have been surrounded by gamblers that always come there and maybe win some life changing amount of money and this might also trigger them to try out their luck too. The workers salary are not always that high although they still get tips from some of the players but still it is better when you make your own money hence casino workers are likely to become gamblers themselves.

Women are still much into this, I have female friends who still gamble a whole lot. Most of the triggers comes from clients who win big, they always see the games played by these guys since their cashier's and try their luck always. Gambling workers rarely have savings and most of them are addicted to the game. There is a popular saying that usually goes that the environment an individual finds himself, always have an influence on how he or she react to his immediate surroundings. And because of that, it's not possible for a individual to work in a physical gambling casino and yet not have interest or be addicted to it. There is nothing such as getting sick of gambling, because the more you see people getting successful by turning small stake into big wins multiple times, you will be tempted to also try your luck too with the amount you have. Where I am from the users who work in the casino cannot gamble at the casino they work for. They can go to other establishments to gamble, but not allowed to gamble at their place of employment.

Honestly, it's boring watching all the action and not be a real big part of it. Guy sits there and loses $20000 and you get your $20 an hour + tips bored outta your mind, whereas if you are gambling and getting all that dopamine rushing to the brain as you are winning(or losing) and you feel all the excitement. 2 very different feelings.

Yeah it's pretty much standard in the industry that they don't want you playing where you work.

I don't think we should divide gamblers into men and women, because each person has their own voice in their head that can dictate how exactly to win back and whether to do it aggressively. Gambling employees, of course, often observe lucky players who win large sums and thereby change their lives. To others, it looks that way, although it's important to understand that once the money is spent, these players will come back and try to win again, but they won't be able to win and will most likely lose everything they have.  You cannot say that all people do this or that, I know people that have worked in casinos before who are adamantly against them with no desire to gamble at all. They have seen the many faces of a gambler - despair, anger, frustration and everything in between, which was enough to put them off it forever. The staff at casinos do have to take extra care not to fall into the trap though, especially as they can get mega tips when people are on a run and if they are selective can focus on the very few people who win big. It actually has to be discouraged by the casino owners because it makes these staff vulnerable to manipulation or outside collusion in certain ways.
