The next UCL is going to be interesting because if France have a very good world cup campaign and eventually wins it, I fancy seeing players like Mbappe bring some of this elite form into the champions league and help Real Madrid to secure another victory. Looking at the teams once again, Real Madrid and PSG look like the most likely favorite to win it once again abd I won't be surprised if that happens.
Real Madrid won't be bad every season. I expect more from them in the coming season
Mbappe and some other players are doing so well in the champions League not just him but PSG players also because there are a lot of PSG players in the French team which means they now play together in the same club and country. Before the world cup Mbappe has proven himself in the champions League though he hasn't won any trophy since he joined Real Madrid but nest season if they come bask stronger like what the Real Madrid team used to be it is possible for Real Madrid 5o to win the league and the champions League also.
When it comes to major trophies, yes, Mbappe hasn't won any major trophy since his arrival at Real Madrid but has won the UEFA Super Cup, and I think the international cup too, with the Spanish giant.
Yes, Mbappe has been on fire at this World Cup competition and even passed his performance since he joined Madrid, in my opinion. I've never seen him at this level of performance since he joined Madrid and scoring goals back to back to back; however, we know PSG just lifted the Champions League last season, and this is not only as a result of his individual performance but more of teamwork. Secondly, another thing that is firing the French team up is their passion to try lifting a trophy that comes once every 4 years, and you as a player may only have the opportunity to appear in only six different World Cups for life.
Therefore at Real Madrid, it's not only Mbappe that would play the game, base on the situation of Madrid last season and if no much thing is done to try to revive the team come next season, Real still will not win the champions League this time.
All eyes are on Mbappe. He shoots, he gets the cameras. However, if you sit at your TV and watch France play, it is Olise who is doing it all. At Bayern this season the assists alone were almost as crazy as the goals. It is this tournament he has been the one doing the real things. He is just not loud about it.
And then there is Deschamps. His last tournament, this one. Instead of going out trying something flashy or modern, he basically said - no, we do what we do. Sit back and let them go for the ball, attack when we want. France gave Morocco over half the ball last night and still won 2-0 with Morocco barely threatening.
Your point about six World Cups in a career, that really did get to me a bit. Kante is 35. These will not be back some of these guys. You can watch them running in other ways, dispute over each ball as though they were instructed to do it like that. That alters something in a team.
Real Madrid's problem goes deeper than one bad season though. Right now they do not have an identity. Are they pressing? Possession? Counter-attacking? No one knows, not even the manager. And when you do not have identity, good teams will find you out. Bayern showed that in April.
