Do you believe you have a future in gambling?

For me, one character of a gambler who might survive long term is someone who actually tracks his wins and losses. Not just remembering the big wins, but also counting the losses, checking the net profit or loss, and trying to see if there is really improvement.

Because without records, it is easy to fool ourselves. We remember the lucky days, but forget the losing streaks.

So my question is, do you have that kind of discipline? Do you really know how much you already lost and won in gambling?

Or are you the type of gambler who only remembers the wins, and slowly forgets the losses?

Back when i first started gambling, i used to do this to see how much i’d lost and also the big wins i’d ever had.

But now, not at all. I will never again and don’t want to, keep track of the wins or losses i’ve experienced in gambling. It’s not without reason, besides being a waste of time, it only leads to regret, counting the total losses that have been lost, thinking that money could have been used for a vacation or to buy something i’ve wanted for a long time.

Besides, we know that in the long run, gambling inevitably ends in losses. So, as long as you’re using money within your set budget, it doesn’t matter whether you win or lose, because you’re already prepared for that.

Most of online casinos of today has your record save. So you don't need to track your record of how big you win and how much you have lost already. But personally, I only sometimes look at those records and then try to reconcile everything in my head. But after that, I don't bother anymore, because if I did then it might just put pressure on myself specially if I see that I have lost so much money in that X amount of time.

And I don't know if it is just me, maybe others could have that kind of mindset of not tracking their record or they don't want to know. As long as you are happy (even if you are losing), then just continue to play.

Yeah that's important thing to do especially if you treat gambling as part of your daily routine. Many people actually doing this especially for those people tried to create a career from gambling.

But for normal shrimp like me I don't do much any of those accounting matter, since I think its just another workload. Gambling for me is just for fun and I don't spend much money on it. Also I can easily quit when needed and don't plan to put huge money because I know the consequences of it. But doing that is helpful for other then do it its just people really have different preferences on action to do.

But there is one thing that's certain as a Gambler and that's the fact that you cannot win In the long run. No matter how much you win from gambling as a long as you are a consistent gambler you are going to lose more, there is no way around it. The only way to avoid this is to stop being a regular gambler.

To win on a long run is just based on luck and not by one's perfection because no matter how perfect the person is in making prediction, they can not be accurate all the time and we have seen players who said they lost all their balance because they were too confident in their skill but just one game caused them to lose all the money they have won so far. That's just how gambling is, one can not be too sure, even if one tracks their loses, it doesn't mean they won't lose more and that it won't also prevent them from losing more than they have won.

That's a good one though,  but let their mindset be centered in treating gambling to be a game of fun and not a plan for them to double their money, as it will be a stressful game for them instead of being a fun game. Although, most gamblers put gambling as their first priority in life than anything other thing, when they are not to give gambling much attention because giving it that opportunity, makes it easier to consume one's life negatively.

I don't have that kind of discipline when it comes to gambling, I never even do it. All I do is count my deposits and withdrawals during a playing session, so I don't know for sure how much I lost and won, I just feel like I made a profit overall.

There is no need to remember losses because it will be annoying if you want to forget what has been lost, always use money that you can afford to lose.

Awareness is like a guidance that keep them in tract or that direct them in doing the right and important thing to keep their mindset in the right place, as it ought to be initially. Also keep record of how one spent their money in gambling helps them to avoid problems that will have to damage their plans before its too late by completely drained them, as it will break them and make them unhappy, also they can protect themselves from it when they have the awareness and maintain the truth in it.

I know I have my limits for sure, and I know I make sure I pay all my bills and everything else, before I start depositing.

But that was at the start, now I know for sure I am no longer depositing, just spending what I earn from signature campaigns

Personally, I don't track what I spend on entertainment, or food etc. Just pay my bills, rent, everything, pay my loans (biggest part of my life for a long time). Save as much as possible, don't spend unnecessarily.

This is important, many people mistake this for something else, but the reality is that we are talking about people who just do not keep track, and those people end up losing way more than they should, and realize they have nothing left when it is too late.

This is why I have a limit to my gambling, so there is a max amount I could lose, which will not hurt me, that means even if I lose my entire deposit, I will not deposit again until I get paid my salary next time, and that will cause me to live comfortable without worrying about my gambling losses. If you do not do this, then you are going to end up with a lot more trouble, and you will not gain anything out of it. Plenty of people fail to learn this simple method.

Is actually a good idea to keep records of your gambling, your wins, and your losses. This is one of the qualities of a good gambler. We should not only be interested about our wins or only keep records of our wins, knowing your losses is very important too. It is very necessary we have good record on how we gamble, it helps to keep us under control, and be able to manage properly our gambling lifestyle. When you experience Long term loosing streak, and you have your record, it could lead to adjustment in your gambling lifestyle, possibly you could reduce the rate ,and the amount of money you spend each time you want to gamble, and this same idea apply when you are on the winning streak, because excitement of long winning streak could also serve as a motivation to you as a gambler.

Having a strict deposit limit per paycheck is a solid move. Definitely beats running spreadsheets if you just play for fun.

But doing mental math is still a trap imo. We naturally remember the big hits and conveniently forget the random deposits we made last week.

Even if it's just "entertainment money", checking your lifetime net deposits every few months is a good reality check. Shows exactly how much that entertainment actually costs.

As for there is no need for me to track my gambling history and when I do it, I will have a emotional breakdown therefore to avoid unnecessary heart attack, I will never go back to check my history because it is not safe for me to do that. Gambling should not be so important in a person's life, we can keep track of the money spent on gambling, but keeping track of how much we have lost and how much we have won on gambling is a waste of time. Personally, I have lost everything I have used on gambling, which is why I do not use much money on gambling and whatever I use, I do it with the intention of losing everything. I do not expect any return from gambling, even if gambling gives me something back, I do not keep track of it. If gambling is a source of income for you or you have extra time, then you can keep track of your wins and losses.

Are we prefer keeping the record of my winnings than my losses in gambling, there is no joy in us reserving what could give us more avenue to think about losing in gambling and we may feel depressed that we have wasted in number of resources to gambling than having fun that is meant to be, because it is clear that we are more likely to lose than to win in gambling and therefore I see no reason why I should still keep my losses with me in record when I can only achieve doing that with my winnings.

I will not keep track of it. I gamble for today and tomorrow is a different gamble. I do not count the number of losses or the number of wins, although I may still remember some fantastic wins that have been achieved. But the number of losses is of course easy to forget. Not to deceive myself, but just to avoid seeing numbers that might affect my mindset from betting calmly.

Well, in the past, I actually made a spreadsheet about my wins and losses, but it got me stressed whenever I saw how it was getting red. That's the time I decided that I should just stop continuing the spreadsheet and just enjoy every bet that I will make.
It's not like I am going to make gambling my day job. It's just one or two bets per day, or sometimes none when there are no games available for my favorite sport. It actually got under my skin, and terminating the spreadsheet was the best thing that I have done.
Now, I don't mind if I lose, but it sticks in my mind until I forget about it in 2 to 3 days. Although the total losses linger.
