If I can manage my bankroll effectively my past experiences whether wins or looses becomes a bygone and goes on the trash.

It is the healthier thing to do, actually, to ignore one's losses from the past and move onto the future in order to get other chances to get money. That is specially true in betting and not much in gambling, where there is a fixed house edge in place which will guarantee losses to the majority of gamblers in the long run.

There just so many people who get obsessed with the idea of breaking even or even winning money from the casino with consistency with would be rather unnatural.
People lose their sleep and stop eating thinking about the data the have accumulated on their spread-sheets and continuously think on what they are supposed to do to beat the casino and recover their money.

No, that is just not for me. I rather only deposit a minimum and have a little fun with money, and then forget about either I lost or not.

One thing I think serious bettors should track is closing line value. For example, if you bet a team at 2.10 and the line closes at 1.85, maybe you found value before the market corrected. But if you always bet at worse odds than the closing line, maybe your timing or analysis is not really strong.

I believe that professional gamblers should check much more than just the "financial result" to know where they went wrong and what they need to improve, because it actually makes sense... a financial gain does not always mean a win in the bet.

I do not usually place bets too far in advance, so I believe there is npt much difference between the bet and the final result, but after reading this OP I confess that I would not be able to place future bets without paying more attention to this.

I only look at the outcome. For me, there's no such thing as making a good bet and losing; you either win or you lose. What would a bad bet be when you've won? Regardless of the odds, if you win, the risk was worth it. For a gambler, what matters is winning, right?

Absolutely so. When I bet, my focus after that is the outcome of what I have used my money to do  

Only few times that I have gone back to recheck how the odds have moved as the game progressed especially if someone calls my attention to it, maybe if it has drastically reduced or increased. The fluctuations actually don't get me checking back because I know it is not stagnant and it is not that the same teams are going to meet again at the next day bet. So to me, keeping records of that may not really worth it. What worth it for me is to analyse the game and bet on the right odd that I want to at that time. I consider if the odd is too high or too low depending on the analysis.

Anyone who took gambling as a source of income are the people who could likely be tracking their records while gambling, it is actually good so that it wouldn’t make you gamble irresponsibly. But the important thing there is gambling for fun and maybe you don’t have something else to do at the moment one could used that to spare their time. And yes you are right, if someone places their bet on time there is higher tendency for them to have big odds and if someone places bet just few minutes to when the game starts you would see them having smaller odds unlike the first person who placed their earlier.

As for me, as the Op said I only checked the outcome of the results and left and once I loss the bet (the team that I am supporting loss the match), there is nothing for me to go and track any bet again and I will walk away. You have loss, and check the track record will not guaranteed you to win the next bet. At that time men are angry.

It’s normal for anyone to desire to make profit in gambling, I mean even those who are gambling for fun wouldn’t mind to make some good profits. But what’s crucial is that, people should learn to understand the fact that gambling can not favour everyone equally, there are people who get lucky more often than others, some also lose more often than others, and that’s just gambling for you. The main thing is to understand when the odds are truly against you and take that walk, rather than keep pushing because you see someone else who’s winning.

Good question! I must admit that I was looking at win/loss record only all the time and nothing else. Of course, if it's a multibet and I see that I won in 3 out of 4 bets, I notice it and I think to myself, "With bets like that I will be in profit in the long run." On the moment that you are really that serious on tracking out on how much you are winning or losing, it doesnt mean that you are already addicted or someone whose really  that aiming for making income with gambling. There are really just that those people who are really want to tracking anything and thats not a bad thing and rather this is recommended because you would really be t hat wary on how much you are losing and winning or simply this is that part of risks management on which considering that we are dealing up with gambling then loses are inevitable. This is why its really that best that you should be wary about on how much you are spending with gambling and thats the best on having the tracking so that you would be ableto stop when you do saw yourself spending up that much or you wouldnt care up that much since you are still on the safe side?. There is much more room to improve if you focus on single bets. Doing some kind of multiplier or parlay is fine, but it is not something we should focus on or try to build a strategy around because it is mostly based on pure luck if we win.

But with single bets, we can use our skills to help us win long term. Looking at the closing line is just very basic for serious sports betting because it is not about stats alone, it is also about reading the line. They say sharps move the line and that is true. That is where a clue is given, but if it is the public moving the line then that is obviously bad.

I don't really check this because at some point I feel like it doesn't really matter, loss is a loss and a win is a win so why checking this? I don't consider it as a strategy though and I don't see it as something that will help me win in gambling. I don't know if you have been checking this and I don't know how successful you have become... After making my selections or prediction and bet the game what I wait for is the result whether they will play as expected or not.

I don't dim my gamble as something of much importance to me so there would be no need for me to start spending time in checking closing value. I normally used to track my win and loss ratio but I stopped after having consecutive amount of loses more than the wins in number and value. And now irrespective what ever I win I still keep it that way and ensure my mind accepts the fact that loses are more than wins in gamble. I don't want any scenario or experiment that would keep my hopes up that I can get it right and probably win big if I learn a pattern, this is gamble and those tricks don't works over here.

Sometimes we caused the reason why we lose in gambling...actually, it's quit understood that gambling is all about luck, and it left for every gambler to know how is going to gamble or not...Sometimes instead of gambling multibet and lose, it will be better to gamble a single one..because in gambling what a gambler is looking for, is opportunity that will make him win in gambling...So that's exactly what a gambler is interested..so I see chances of winning in gambling with single game than multiple games...

Not paying attention to closing values shows you do not have a betting addiction and that you don't let it consume your mind. Understood the cognitive bias of thinking that artificial strategies will help improve performance in the system. But if I may ask, of what benefits is it to have a good bet whereby you will still loses the bet, and likewise a bad bet whereby you it will end up winning. Because in a situation like this, it's even far more better to have series of bad bets that will end up as  profits for you, rather than claiming that a bet was good and it still doesn't play as predicted. Because in gambling, despite the fact that both luck and skills plays an important role in the success story of each gambler. Winning a bet is actually one that that also matters the most. I'm curious whether paying attention to closing line value is also a sign of being addicted in gambling or not. I think some bettors have more advanced strategies than us and that might help them make more profit in the long run. Personally, I don't pay much attention to closing line value but sometimes I notice that it's true for example, I've placed a bet at 1.85 odds before a match started and then a few minutes before the match started the odds dropped to 1.50. In case like that, it feels like getting in early may have provided some value but can happen vice versa.

Well, I am going to be honest, I don't check any damn thing aside the final result of my bet, that is whether it's a win or loss, if its a win, I celebrate and merry, but if it's a loss, I keep a straight face and move on like nothing happened because nothing actually happened, there was no win so nothing happened, nothing to celebrate 😂

But on a more serious note, thank goodness you said that serious bettors always keep track of their closing line value, I am not a serious bettor, I bet mostly to have fun and nothing more, completely gone are the days i used to depend on gambling for income from winning, so far over the years I've realised it is absolutely wrong to gamble for the sake of making money, because both gambling and betting cannot be relied upon, so I shifted my mind from gambling to make money to gambling and betting for fun, so I usually don't care about anything else aside winning and losing.
