There's a style of dress code that Mark Zuckerberg the founder and CEO of Facebook is fond of if you look at him closely and that is a t shirt, Jean and simple Nike shoes.
It's a signature dress code according to him that makes him comfortable and eliminates the need for sorting through the closet looking for the best outfit for the day.
This simplistic dress code is cheaper to afford, makes him presentable enough, makes him blend into the crowd and saves time  of which is important when thinking and working to make money.

I believe in a rather simplistic dress code for ease and efficiency and as long as it is clean and you smell nice, you can get through any door you intend to open when seeking to improve your personal economy.

IIRC, I've watched a docu that featured a guy who dresses to show how wealthy he is even if he's not. It's within the roots of their culture that someone who dresses good can be said that he's doing well in life. And can't blame that guy for doing that for how he wants the respect of the society through how well he dresses. IMHO, it doesn't matter how good or bad someone dresses. Because it's all about the comfort you feel with what you wear.

This is not a matter of dress in the way you want to be addressed. The fact that someone needs help should not make them to appear needy. There are people who naturally appear classy despite their financial problems just like someone looking fat while they are not feeding fine.

So in my view, it is better to look nice if you can afford to before you approach your helper. It doesn't stop your helper to understand the predicament you are and if they are destined to help you then they will. Sometimes your helper may choose to give you "net" to fish for yourself (connection, contact, contract) and not just the fish which will be a one time stop thing. However, if you don't look smart and attractive plus confident with your appearance, you may not attract the net and real help that will unlock many more doors.

Indeed your personality is affected by your attire and appearance. One of my friend is working in a pharmaceutical company and there company isn't recognised by many however there competition is with multinational organisations and most of the time they beat them because of there presence and appearance in front of the doctors. I believe that 90 percent of the doctors are convinced to their products because of their appearance. The company emphasises on their dressing more than anything else and that is why they are moving forward.

I believe there is difference between looking flamboyant, lavish and looking nice. People that who are going for interview should understand it that they are going there to sell theirself first by the way they appear especially for the particular occasion. You don't appear unkept and badly dressed when going for a formal occasion or interview. Likewise, if you are already employed and going to represent your company, you have to be at your best because you are the image maker of the company at that point.

Sincerely speaking, dressing matters a lot in our society, and as we know the way you dressed that Is the way you should be addressed, and if you dressed like a prostitute that is the way you should be addressing because you made people understand that you are that kind of person. It depends on what you are dressing for, if you want to meet somebody for financial help, you can always look good despite your financial condition, The person that wants to help you doesn't have to look at your condition or your style of dressing before helping you, except the the person helping you want you to be naked before you to appear to him that you really need the financial help or sympathetic towards you, else there is really nothing there in looking good. there is a saying in our local parlance that " cleanliness is next to Goliness", while looking good is for your own personal hygiene, it shouldn't be seen as though a broke man shouldn't dress well, and anybody that wants to give you financial assistance and looks at the way you dress and start saying oh because of the way you dress I cannot help you, you look rich,  that means that person truly does not want to help you even though you dress sloppy.

Dressing does not affect the situation of the economy, its a personal preference that reflects one's style or character. I think you're misunderstanding the concept of the word "economy " or it could just be your own way of expressing yourself but both dressing and economy are two distinct entities.

But in a general perspective, dressing portrays a lot about a person as popular saying "dress the way you want to be addressed" is not just a phrase but a real life matter. But the aspect of dressing to look nice while in need of help is not entirely bad, most people are just so neat regardless of their condition. You could dress clean and not flashy and be in need of help, you don't need to look dirty to ask for help.

That saying is very common in Africa cause nobody wants to employ someone who dresses like a mechanic inside the bank that's why there is a choice of dressing for those working in a corporate organization and those in the bank. Even in business transactions the appearance of someone will determine how they will treat and respond to him, if he's looking classy he's going to be respected but if he's looking dirty they will see him as a hungry person and the job will likely not be given to him.

For my opinion it all depends on what kind of help you want, is it a financial help or employment help. There is a say, that says you will be address according to how you dress which is truth. But, I am telling you for free that no matter how you dress, whoever that wants to help you will help you. So, if you want help dress according to the level of help you want. I don't remember exactly who said that but there is famous saying: "People are greeted by their clothes and remembered/sent  with their words". Its really important to be good looking if you are seeking power among the community that you wanted to be there. Its also mindset too. If you look dirty, bad, insecure nobody respect you and wont listen you. But on the other hand if you look cool, welldressed and confident they will respect you and listen even if you are talking nonsense

A person's dressings really have a negative impact on the person's personal economy, it is inappropriate to be wearing expensive things and you are in need of something that cost just small amounts of money. It's also better to be investing more in earning businesses than to be spending on the dressing, and to be realistic majority of the peoples often consider to dress and waste money on other unnecessary things  even without them having any amount in their pocket.

But despite all the above highlighted reasons should not prevent all of us to be always dress in moderate way, especially if you are type of person that always presents in the public places, in such a way that you will not to be dishonor by the people.

Pretending to be wealthy and dressing well are the two different things I think that if you need someone help in either anyway you should be presentable rather than looking poor to seek help, good grooming and dressing is not associated with discipline confidence or self respect these qualities can make your work and give you opportunities like job. There are people who spend more to just look good if someone is struggling financially but  he is pending way too much on his own buying luxury and branded clothes and other items they cannot afford that is damaging there self , in my opinion.

You should always need to stay within your budget. Always try to dress neatly and appropriately. Just for the sake of sympathy do not try to look needy. Make your character, skills so strong that they does not need your dressing to validate your account ability. Dress to look presentable not to see other peoples pity.

Dressing well is always a good idea, even when you are facing financial challenges. Looking neat and presentable does not mean you are pretending to be rich it simply shows that you respect yourself and take yourself seriously. if two people go for a job interview, one appears neat and organized while the other looks careless. Most employers will naturally have a better first impression of the person who looks presentable, even if both are struggling financially. and there is a difference between dressing well and trying to live a fake lifestyle. You don't need expensive clothes to look good. Clean, simple and decent clothing can create a positive impression and even open doors to opportunities. Sometimes people are more willing to help or trust someone who appears responsible and confident.

I usually cherish seeing billionaires dress casually even on formal occasions. Some of the events visit presidents without suits or ties.

It is one of the perks of being rich, some even consider that dressing casually or even picking the same colour clothes is time savings and they make few thousand dollars in those minutes, which might be true then why they ask their employees to wear clothers in certain ways.

I reckon with dressing properly so that you will look like approachable. Our eyes are also looking on the people who's got some good sense of dressing and that quickly makes us judge if they're approachable or not.

So if someone is dressed properly, they're going to have that quick judgment that they can be decent people that might need your help or you needing them.

At the same time, it also shows the kind of person you are and the reflects the personality on how we dress.

By default, I dress simply. I wear flipflops 95% of the time, whether I'm in a coffee shop, in a restaurant, beach, shopping center, and in most other places. Even when I'm in a semi-formal meeting, I wear it with my pair of pants. This isn't an insult since I'm in a tropical country. This is generally acceptable. This is a disclaimer because I'm aware many cultures would see it as somewhat offensive.

But I agree that many might look down on you if you dress simply. This is indeed common here in my place. However, many rich businessmen here wear the simplest of clothes even when they're around posh hotels and resorts. Perhaps it's about confidence and decorum. That doesn't necessarily refer to what you wear.

I Will say that dressing wel don't necessarily mean that person needs help, most times looking presentable and neat is a way of showing confidence and self respect even when things are not soo good or easy. Alot of opportunities do come from first impression, so someone is not suppose to deliberately look unkept just to prove that they need help. I know that there is a rule of dressing which is to look moderate, not too flashy or poor. Someone who wants to assist you should not look at how you dress.  Some people might buy cheap clothes and still look good in them. You should not dress pitifully because you want people to have sympathy for you and assist you financially or otherwise. I know that those who work as marketers or bankers would have to dress well to attract customers. So would you say that they should be dressing poorly because they are expecting help from someone?

In fact, dressing well can connect you to successful people. But don't spend above your income on clothing because you want to look en vogue. Just dress well as you can afford.
