Just like I said in my previous comment, though it's been long but I can still remember where I said that "it is as if gamble only favour those with low expectations infact, those that doesn't have any expectations in gamble if not to have fun with it. These set of gamblers are the ones that make profit the most from gamble, the reason why some gamblers don't get lucky/ favoured in gamble is because they already have a plan set up, they are just waiting for the plan to work out and sometimes they might be expecting it to work out for them maybe within a Short period of time but sometimes it will take longer than expected by then, at that point they became worried while those that  doesn't have any expectations they easily get lucky. Even in real life not everything we expect that get to us.

This is a good thread that I will use to site as example to some people that thinks that winning in gambling is by their power and might meanwhile gambling is something that can give you a huge win on a good day that you do not even expect but you will see someone that have been gambling compulsively for many years will not win up to that amount. Gambling is a game of luck and whether you are compulsive or not, that's not what will determine if you can win a huge amount or not.

Maybe those who are compulsive did win too but it is just that they are compulsive, so their winnings can only get back on the casino again. Well, I truly agree that gambling is a waste of money, if you are exposed to frequent losses. But if you are on a constant win, no money will be wasted, but everything will definitely contribute living a more valuable and meaningful life.

Some people are just lucky for no just reason, and this is a perfect example of it. Because sometimes, as an old gambler, when you see stories like this, it kind of want to discourages you from gambling more. But on the contrary, it only reveals the true identity of what gambling is actually all about, whereby in other to be lucky, doesn't matter how long you might have gambled or the amount you might have spent to be lucky to hit a jackpot. And to be honestly speaking, it's possible the woman was destined to be rich through gambling, and likewise spread a different narrative about gambling that it is not actually a waste of money and time, as she might have thought about it. Life did not prove her wrong, she is correct with her claim. Even if there are occasionally lucky winners, for most people gambling is a waste of money. They will never win anything big in their lives and their total losses in life will add up to big sums. If it wasn't like that then gambling how we know would not exist, it is there to redistribute income and for the intermediary to make some money for making that possible. Only a situation where for most people gambling is profitable would make it true that gambling is not a waste of time, but this is not possible because of economics otherwise casinos would be bankrupt. We need to be very careful with using examples of very lucky winners, because for some people it gives them the false idea that they could easily become the next winner simply by playing. You don't mention all the people that have bought tickets and never won something. The story though is not complete because while it seems the woman used money she could afford to lose to buy the lottery, it doesn’t tell us what the impact of that win has on her.
