‎In my Opinion and understanding the merit The system has made ranking up more challenging and hard but not something impossible it gives rewards and awards the people with patience putting in effort and gives quality contributions instead of asking how to get merit, new members may benefit more from asking how they can add more value to the forum when contributions and ideas become consistent, merit often follows naturally.

That's why beginners like you probably won't be able to become good users for the forum, because you can't read and you can't analyze, but you regularly post similar topics, questions, and answers that have been discussed a thousand times. It has been pointed out to you that a similar topic has already been discussed just recently. Why say the same thing again? You've written a lot of words, and as always, there are a lot of useless words, and until you, OP, and newcomers like you realize that you need to read more instead of poking around with unimportant topics, your account growth will stall.

The merit system does not work well like you said as Mr intelligence got 3 merit from Do you think it’s too late to Build up Bitcoin? and quickly sent 1 merit to this post. Whether that thread deserved 3 merit can be controversial with some people but the campaign application post is obviously not deserved 1 merit.

30 shit posts before this thread, 3 merit and still complained. 

They keep farming merit from shit posts and circulating smerit around, and keep ranking up, though it is not only about Mr intelligence as there are many shit posters ranked up this way.

 At the end of the day, the Op has decided it's not necessary to come and respond to the replies on the thread he created to champion the spread of merits for growing accounts.. SMH! We see this types of people everyday and it's crazy how I give them the chance to show me they're different from the others who just want to grow their accounts so they can join a paying campaign.
 I ask myself if it's even necessary to drop guidelines to help "newbies" grow when all they are concerned about is how the merits will keep flowing because you can't ask for guidelines on how this place works and things to avoid doing when you won't do them and if you're not engaging in discussions, how will they learn?

It is meant to be difficult.
It was done intentionally to reduce the spam posts. Being a newbie cannot be an excuse to write spam posts. There are hundreds of new accounts, but the person behind the account might be talented and they can share useful information. If you can share useful information that helps people, you will start earning merits. What would you do by ranking up your account? Participate in campaigns and make money for you, right?

Don't you think this community deserve something in return? The only thing you could give back to this community is - useful informations. So, please do not complaint about it. It will take a few months to rank up if you spend enough time, study the forum, and share good informations.

Beginners, which is funny, choose such beautiful nicknames for themselves, which subsequently cause laughter from others. A person with intelligence will not show his obvious mistakes in the fact that he has several accounts here,  but  behavior OP highlights this with lanterns.

It is difficult to maintain multiple accounts and want to get high ranks from them without exchanging merit with your alt accounts; this is being watched. And getting merits from others is not easy every time, especially if your head is empty. Maybe you should have one, but a normal account, OP?

I could be wrong but it seems as though the OP had one or more of his accounts tagged and might not be able to use them as he intended and that has affected his plans to monetise all of the account farm. He clearly does not want to go through a lengthy process in order to build up the next set of accounts to enroll in campaigns therefore is not happy. Rather than post his rant using an account that is enrolled in a campaign, he used a newbie account specifically for this task.

Simply put it ''the merit system made it too difficult for newbie spammers to grow their account and rank up easily''. No matter how hard the merit system has become for newbies over the years, it has helped to reduce spammers and made it harder for shit posters to rank up so the advantages of the merit system is higher than its disadvantages. What I think most people here are just having in mind is that, immediately the have created their account the next is to just boom to their expect rank without knowing that there is hard work to put in places before getting to the required rank needed.
I do not see merits to be a problem to anyone who has decided to grow gradually or even seeing the forum as something that is very tough for people to rank up, of course if op had put efforts in contributing to the community then i do not see ranking up to be a whole lot of burden to people around here.

I have tried to reframe that post multiple times just to make sense out of it but I didn’t succeed. Considering that he's from Nigeria (based on his post in the local board) majority of us struggle with English but meh that was too bad. I noticed people complain about his bad post even in the local board.

Not really a bad English but it's difficult for non African people to understand. We call it Pidgin English (broken English) some people mix it with grammar while communicating but others enjoy using the pidgin to communicate thoroughly during conversation. It's actually easier to speak and write than the proper English.

Op, you're doing bad to our already damaged reputation. You've made similar thread on our local board about merit but you failed to realise that merits run away from people that chase it eagerly. You'll hardly earn merit complaining about the system but you'll surely earn it contributing to make the system better.

So, as far as I can see, this question comes from a new member, who only registered on the forum 5 months ago, and has so far written about 32 posts almost exclusively on the Nigerian local board.
Considering that the OP hardly writes at all on the English board, I think he asked the wrong people and that this thread should have been started on the Nigerian local board, since he is active and writes there.
It's obvious that he can't expect merits from members who don't read and follow the Nigerian local board.

The only reason the merit system wouldn't be working as intended is because a few generous merit sources are damaging the meaningfulness of the signal. They cause a ripple effect that permeates through the forum economy and encourages a culture that rewards shitposting.

Not really a bad English but it's difficult for non African people to understand. It's actually easier to speak and write than the proper English.

It’s actually a bad English and  that’s how it’s meant to be in the first place so that it will be easy for those who can’t speak English or fluently , not those that are only  familiar with standard English itself.

The  bad English is meant to make it easier to understand but it can also successfully create confusion among those who speak it because it has no standard.. When we speak it, it’s more easier to understand than when we write it , that’s why it makes no sense to some attimes when a user writes in Pidgin.

The important part is that without understanding every word,  you can easily grab the whole idea a statement is trying to convey unless the writer makes it even more broken  .
7/10  of every Nigerians understands Pidgin anyway even if they can’t really speak it fluently.
Nigeria language sys is complicated..
In Nigeria, we have hundreds of languages.. for example, I can speak 2 [one fluently ] but majorly we have 3~4  languages [according to the major tribes]. Breaking it down, each tribe can have upto hundred languages(most you won’t even see it on internet), so you can belong to a tribe and still won’t be able to hear what some set of people speak even though it still classified as the tribe language.. But each tribe generally have a major language they can all hear and speak[there’re still some isolated tribes in each tribe that won’t be able to speak the general though].

English is supposed to be the general but not everyone can speak it either, talk more of fluently . That’s where the Pidgin comes in , it has no rules / standards, a word can be replaced with as many as possible slangs or made up words, making it easier to communicate in English with others but not the standard English and not everyone can speak it . Yet, it works miraculously because someone that can’t speak it can still understand what you’re trying to communicate .

Yes, it might not be a problem, but it becomes one when a newbie ranks up faster with little effort, minimal contributions, or no meaningful contributions.. It can make other newbies with similar levels of contribution think “Why can’t I rank up like them?”. I’m not saying users can’t rank up with little contribution, it can depend on showing up at the right place &time on the forum , visibility and orhers..

From the title, I first want to disagree with the impression of growing of account, it sounds ridiculous because we are not here to compete or ranks or ensure we achieve a particular ranking up by all means, even at little efforts, the essence of the forum is to discuss about Bitcoin and not to achieve a high profile presence for ourselves when we are not even much inclined to contributing about bitcoin and the entire crypto networks, go for quality contributions and you will be amazed on how fast you will scale to rank up.

You are actually correct and I think this thread needs to be lock since a similar thread has already been posted in this board, moderators should always be checking this board always to delete or lock some thread that has been discussed or posted here before and is still active and open for discussions, it will be understandable if the other thread has been locked but since it's open there is no point creating a similar trend again so this one should be locked.

Maybe you are not, but OP most likely is.

My guess is that he heard stories hows easy it is to rank up and make money here, but obviously it isn't as easy as he thought. Which says a lot about him, since nowadays even shitposters don't have much problem reaching higher ranks.
