As for the next World Cup, I really hope you're right about it being decent, but it's hard to be optimistic when corporate interests dictate everything. For the current administration of the FIFA to be changed or replaced by new people (who may or many not) be less corrupt, it would take some criminal investigation by the European Union or the United States against the current administration; otherwise nothing would happen.

It takes more than lack of popularity and public approval to get corrupt people outsted of their positions.

In the case of the previous FIFA administration, the USA actually prosecuted them for taking bribes blatantly.

It has got me thinking how many Argentinians have won money because of betting in favor of their national football team. Argentina is a country which has suffered much economically and there are people there who are struggling much, but if just a small percentage of the population of the country decided to partake in betting and had decided to bet in favor of their team from the very beginning, I can easily see a lot of people from there who may have been able to pay for their needs thanks to the performance of their football players.
