Do gamblers become careless after a big win?

I cannot speak for other people, but I can say that I have been in this kind of situation many times. When I win big, I feel like there is less pressure on my bets and I can make bigger bets without worrying too much. My reason is that if I lose, that is fine because it is just my winnings anyway.

I was supposed to stop with a profit, but because I got greedy or lost control, I ended up losing my winnings. But AFAIR, it never happened that I lost everything including my initial bankroll.

You are very correct about that, because what most gamblers fail to understand when they grab a very big wining opportunity like that, is to take a break from that particular moment you hit a big wining, so that you might not end up gambling with all or most of the winning money but most of gamblers fail to be able to control themselves emotionally, and before they could know it, the money that won is gone through double their betting partner hoping to win more money, i have seen a gambler that won a very big money through casino games and instead of the gambler to stop or remove his profits like you said, he double his staking and before he could realize all the money was taken back from the same casino games. I've experienced this in the past and it did mess me up, luckily I was able to self-evaluate and not repeat the same thing, because it really made me lose more money due to overconfidence in my bets.
 
Imagine you have $10 and then you get $200 in less than an hour, in my local currency that's a huge amount so it makes me even more greedy and think I want to get $1000, and that's where the problem lies, it's not that I lose the money I've won but I lose more money.

I actually don't think that it's about carelessness after a big winning, because even though you are very careful, you can still be losing money while gambling, what I think is the problem is greed, because once you become very greedy in gambling, you will start gambling beyond your set target . This is not a new story, it always happens. We hear people complain of how they won something, and the spirit of celebration and happiness that they won, they are filled with mote confidence to play more, and at the end, they loose everything. It's just so bad and I don't know why?  Though this has happened to me twice, but just for little wins. But I didn't let it repeat more often.
