The host country usually have some level of advantage to win so I hope the USA uses the advantage if not they are not going anywhere close to the cup, I want to see France win again I don’t care what others opinion is but I want to see some other few underdogs or not really rated country to win like Curaçao which is not a very big country, an island no one will be expecting to see such possible outcome but I wish them because that island needs to be seen celebrating again, just the mere fact they joined the World Cup made the whole island jubilate like no other imagine them winning.

What he described was his whole country because the majority in the stands was Haitian in complete unity in joy! It makes me want to bet on Haiti! I was personally proud to hear that the USA made their greatest performance in a long long time or maybe ever in a match at the very beginning.

This is the kind of bet that a few people makes, especially so far in advance, and why? I have a few reasons...

First because at the last Fifa's World Cup tournament, several teams that were considered "favorite" did not even make it past of first round, and in this edition I am seeing some European teams drawing with others that were previously considered "weak"... than I believe we will have some surprises in this championship again.
Second... because we usually root for our favorite teams, for our countries, and this is exactly what you did: The USA has never win this championship and probably would not win this year, but even so, you believe and bet in them.

I also believe and root for Brazil even knowing that they are going through a bad phase, but I would bet in them to be champion... however, I would not do that because I prefer just cheer.

I will wait for the championship to move towards the next phase to answer the OP's question.

I am not sure if I would call it to be my personal "best bet", but I have a hunch Argentina or Brazil are going to take the trophy this year back to south America. Perhaps, it is because people from Venezuela usually like to support south American teams when we don't qualify for the world cup.

Spain seems to be the favorite for the World cup, but I don't see why, it is not as if the Spanish selection had something special or something which made them different on this world cup when compared to previous tournaments. In my opinion, the capacity of Spain is being over-estimated by the general market.

My best world cup bet would be that Portugal would win the finals, its a big risk game since it's basically next to impossible to see who's going to be in the finals right now but i want Portugal to win so if I'm going to call any bet the best it would be Portugal winning the finals.

Today, several of my favorite World Cup teams lost or drew, including Spain, Uruguay, Belgium,  etc. For me, the best teams in the World Cup start tomorrow with France, Argentina, and Norway. I really like Norway.

In any case, we always have our favorite team in any World Cup, but if your country qualifies, that's your favorite team. If your country doesn't qualify, it can be any team you simply like; there's no rocket science to it.

Everyone is supporting their country that's normal but for those that are bettors this isn't going to take the place of logic, when my country competes with a team that is far better than them I don't place my bet on them at that point because a strategic bettor isn't sentimental. You have a story to tell, but you forgot to describe what really stands for "best world cup bet" ? Isnt the best bet is any bet that you have placed and won? And that "best" is measured only how much you have won?

I dont follow football much, but from news article names I have already found out few sensational results. Favorites were not able to win against weaker teams. I dont have favorite team, but I believe that Brazil, Germany, Argentina or France might be the teams that will play in finals. As to USA, it would be nice if they advanced from groups stage and have some wins in play-off. Tbh, football or better say soccer is not the sport USA is strong in.

I think no one can know which is the best bet in this World Cup yet if many people who have won a lot of money in their World Cup bets can post in the forum we can then dictate and all agree on which one was the best bet. As for the favorite team it is to early to tell but I believe a lot in disciplined teams and the better one at it so far looks Germany. In an event like the World Cup you just can't win by having talented players, you also need a lot of discipline and Germany has it so for me I think they are the favorites for winning this World Cup of 2026.

Look at how many draws there are so far at this World Cup—there really are a lot of them, and I think betting on underdogs or draws can be a good strategy if the odds are too favorable. In football, we all have our biases and always support teams based on the love that we have for the players that makes up that team or the players that have played in that team. Sometimes, even though your bet didn't enter as predicted and your favourite team win, that win is going to be of a great encouragement and might council out any form of loss you're feeling as a result of your bet that has cut.

Even though for several part of the world, the Argentina game will be very late, Messi fans will dare to stay awake till then just so they can watch Thier Goat play. Winning is just a part of what's obtainable in a world cup.
