The host country usually have some level of advantage to win so I hope the USA uses the advantage if not they are not going anywhere close to the cup, I want to see France win again I don’t care what others opinion is but I want to see some other few underdogs or not really rated country to win like Curaçao which is not a very big country, an island no one will be expecting to see such possible outcome but I wish them because that island needs to be seen celebrating again, just the mere fact they joined the World Cup made the whole island jubilate like no other imagine them winning.

I love this topic because it will show where everyone stands. I personally am rooting for the USA because I live in the USA and I am loyal to my country, especially when I am mostly just interested in winning for that reason alone and im not the biggest futbol fan. I did love playing recreationally. I also loved hearing my fellow coworker who is Haitian describing his unforgettable experience at a qualifier match. What he described was his whole country because the majority in the stands was Haitian in complete unity in joy! He described being in tears at the sight of his grandmother being the happiest he had ever seen her and was so filled with joy that he went. Can you describe anything more wholesome? It makes me want to bet on Haiti! I was personally proud to hear that the USA made their greatest performance in a long long time or maybe ever in a match at the very beginning.

This is the kind of bet that a few people makes, especially so far in advance, and why? I have a few reasons...

First because at the last Fifa's World Cup tournament, several teams that were considered "favorite" did not even make it past of first round, and in this edition I am seeing some European teams drawing with others that were previously considered "weak"... than I believe we will have some surprises in this championship again.
Second... because we usually root for our favorite teams, for our countries, and this is exactly what you did: The USA has never win this championship and probably would not win this year, but even so, you believe and bet in them.

I also believe and root for Brazil even knowing that they are going through a bad phase, but I would bet in them to be champion... however, I would not do that because I prefer just cheer.

I will wait for the championship to move towards the next phase to answer the OP's question.

I am not sure if I would call it to be my personal "best bet", but I have a hunch Argentina or Brazil are going to take the trophy this year back to south America. Perhaps, it is because people from Venezuela usually like to support south American teams when we don't qualify for the world cup.

Spain seems to be the favorite for the World cup, but I don't see why, it is not as if the Spanish selection had something special or something which made them different on this world cup when compared to previous tournaments. In my opinion, the capacity of Spain is being over-estimated by the general market.

When comes to Cape Verde and Curaçao, I don't have any expectations on them to get the world cup for their respective countries, they are just too new and lacking of experience within the highest leagues of football.

The world of soccer betting is indeed full of uncertainty, making every match so exciting. Losses by popular team are actually normal event and provide taste to big tournaments. Turkey lost the game early on, but has not been ruled out. It is far better watch the game as entertainment in it is purest form rather than make guesses at something we know would have been totally random, and that could lead us to disappointment.

This is going to be too biased because most are just going to talk about their favourite country to win and the truth is that I'm going to do the same as well.
My best world cup bet would be that Portugal would win the finals, its a big risk game since it's basically next to impossible to see who's going to be in the finals right now but i want Portugal to win so if I'm going to call any bet the best it would be Portugal winning the finals.

Am really rooting for Portugal to win this, coz this would balance the scale and finally end the GOAT debate...But from what I saw in the international friendly with Nigeria, I couldn't but help to think that Ronaldo has become very slow and has also lost his touch... The best team in the World Cup is the one that wins you a bet, and that best team changes as the tournament progresses. 

Today, several of my favorite World Cup teams lost or drew, including Spain, Uruguay, Belgium,  etc. For me, the best teams in the World Cup start tomorrow with France, Argentina, and Norway. I really like Norway.

In any case, we always have our favorite team in any World Cup, but if your country qualifies, that's your favorite team. If your country doesn't qualify, it can be any team you simply like; there's no rocket science to it.

Eventually everyone will first consider his own country and support it when it comes to world cup experience, then if you must have watched and follow through the various matches in the world cup, we also develop interest in some particular countries because of their way of performance that will put more interest in you, but when it comes to gambling, everything becomes unpredictable because we don't know who will win or not.

Everyone is supporting their country that's normal but for those that are bettors this isn't going to take the place of logic, when my country competes with a team that is far better than them I don't place my bet on them at that point because a strategic bettor isn't sentimental. I think Spain or Brazil would win the world cup but I'm not entirely sure of this so I can't make such bet. The world cup is highly competitive, any country might end up winning this time around. It might turn out to be a country that we don't expect, that's what the game of football is all about.

I haven't made any bets on the world cup yet, usually I do it live with my friends maybe this will happen when a friend of mine invites me to bet when his favorite team competes.

It's too soon to determine which team is the best if for now, but with my own champion team I am confused because every time the world cup takes place I only join the excitement by watching the match especially approaching the final.

I actually don't know much about soccer myself so I only have basic knowledge, maybe because of this I don't have a team that I champion.

You have a story to tell, but you forgot to describe what really stands for "best world cup bet" ? Isnt the best bet is any bet that you have placed and won? And that "best" is measured only how much you have won?

I dont follow football much, but from news article names I have already found out few sensational results. Favorites were not able to win against weaker teams. I dont have favorite team, but I believe that Brazil, Germany, Argentina or France might be the teams that will play in finals. As to USA, it would be nice if they advanced from groups stage and have some wins in play-off. Tbh, football or better say soccer is not the sport USA is strong in.

In this World Cup I follow matches with pleasure but not with enthusiasm, Italy is out so for me it's just a matter of placing winning bets, so the best team will be the one that will win me the most bets.

I think no one can know which is the best bet in this World Cup yet if many people who have won a lot of money in their World Cup bets can post in the forum we can then dictate and all agree on which one was the best bet. As for the favorite team it is to early to tell but I believe a lot in disciplined teams and the better one at it so far looks Germany. In an event like the World Cup you just can't win by having talented players, you also need a lot of discipline and Germany has it so for me I think they are the favorites for winning this World Cup of 2026.
