It's was a Crazy start for messi. One of the famous quote I remember marcelo said don't angry messi if you make them angry your team are in trouble. I hope messi can continue this form so they can win this tournament.  Argentina are already Favourites for this worldcup but they all depend on Messi and good news is messi score Hatrick and then sub off so they can rest and prepare for the next match

Hmm. I think if you were to base it on the current era, yes, he is the goat, but there are a lot of historical comparisons to eras like Pele.

Lionel Messi has shown to the world once again for the outmost time and being the only player to have participated in the FIFA world cup 6th times, at thirty-eight (38) years he has once again showed why he should be considered as the Greatest player of all-time (GOAT) with an outstanding performance of 9.4 rating, 80 minutes played, 3 goals scored and 5 shots against Algeria before walking off the pitch with the Man of the Match (MOTM) award once again.

I am  also a very die hard fan of Lionel Messi, and in this post, you were making a lot of sense until you began or started saying that there will never be any player in the world better than Lionel Messi, this is absolutely a very wrong thing to say because Lionel Messi is not God, he is the best football as of today and I understand, but never make such statement that there will never be any greater footballer in the world, saying things like this is outright disrespect and disregard for the future and coming generations.

Your son or my son could rise up in the future to become a better player than Lionel Messi is today after Lionel messi and many of us are long gone, stop limiting the coming generations from doing better, just same way we shouldn't throw stones into the market because you never know if it's your mother the stone will hit.
In the future, someone will definitely rise up to become far better than Lionel Messi but for today, I agree that he is the best.

Isn't this just an over-hype. Don't get me wrong, I love Messi. He is one of my fav players of all time. And yes, I consider him the GOAT because of his numerous achievements. But you can't say he is undisputed because of just this one game. Let's see his overall performance in the tournament before we jump into conclusions.

Maybe Algeria is a bad matchup for him, and he completely dominated because the game was in his favor (didn't watch the game BTW). So let's not just use this 1 game to draw our conclusions.

Algeria failed to withstand the pressure of Argentina, we can’t even compared the performance of both sides, yet some people think Messi can do this against every team he plays against in this World Cup. This is just an over hyped in my opinion, Ronaldo scored a hat trick in the 2018 World Cup against Spain, and nobody hyped him the way they are hyping Messi just because he scored a hat trick in the first game of the World Cup.

However, Leo Messi broke the record to be become the oldest player to register a hat trick in a single World Cup. Mbappe also did the same thing in the 2022 World Cup final against Argentina, and the internet does not hype him this way. This is his last World, they should allow him to enjoy his last games of the tournament, people are drawing too much conclusions after the hat trick in the first game.

Sure, Leonel Messi is one of the most important assets with comes to Argentinian Football and perhaps one of the most important people when comes to football worldwide, there is no question about it.
But in the same manner we are praising him today and we believe he is invincible, the next generations are going to give up other legends who will be compared to Messi, and one of them will eventually challenge his legend.

Messi performance yesterday was just something special and it could only come from someone who is special like him. Scoring a hatrick in the opener of the world cup is something very special. He was the youngest Argentina player to score back then in the 2006 world cup and in 2026 he is once again the oldest Argentina player to score in the world cup. This only shows that players like Messi comes only Once in a long while, this shows that Messi is the greatest player of all time for those still doubting. Let's see how Ronaldo will perform against DRC in few minutes time.

Messi has always proven himself to be the savior of the Argentine team and has always delivered when needed, the hype for Messi should be reduced. I love both players (Messi and Ronaldo) they are exceptional in their different ways and we should always show our respect for them due to the history they have created in football.

Both players are good in their own ways and I haven’t seen them publicly wanting to show superiority over one another, it is always their fans that are making it look like a competition. Both of them are greatest of all time in their own time and their time happens to come by the same period which is why this comparison will never stop. Even though they don’t show it publicly that they’re in a competition with one another, how they see their fans act online will trigger them to want to break the record of the other one if already created in order to also have an edge against the other. These are what the fans like about football and they’re both living up to the task to make it memorable for their fans to get to gist and argue about all the time on who is the best player amongst them.

This is a well-known fact that Messi is the goat, many people know. I see no reason to debate this, for Messi being the goat. He has many times made new history in football, I will commend him on that for pushing through good football at the age of 38.

In the current World Cup, all eyes are on him, to do wonders in it as he knows how, to carry the weight of his fellow teammates to the semi-finals or finals of the World Cup.
