It’s not just because of this one game. He has been the GOAT since the start of his career and the way he has played has always been magical. This one particular game at the age pf 38-9 is a masterclass of a game. Any player closer to this age hardly scores a goal now a hattrick is too big of a deal. People are just making it seem like it's a competition between them but it's really not, they are too old for that right now so if Messi is lucky to have scored an Hat trick just one game into the competition then it's his luck, no pressure on Ronaldo. Ronaldo is also looking to score a goal at least but he's not trying to catch up to anyone, all he wants is to win the World Cup.

It's too early to conclude who's scoring more goals and we still can't compare the mentality of Messi's team and Ronaldo's team. Argentina is clearly a team who breaths for Messi only and will do whatever it takes to make it easy for him and it's something I admire about them but that's not the case with Portugal. Portugal players don't think that way, instead they think Ronaldo is bad egg, they play to please themselves and don't respect Ronaldo's presence and it's what I dislike about them. They make it look like Ronaldo is not capable anymore. I don't think they are going far in this competition with how they are playing.

I'm a big Ronaldo fan but I truly envy Messi's team and I think thats the advantage Messi has over Ronaldo.

Messi is playing his best football, same as Ronaldo. They're different players doing their things and fans should stop comparing both of them. For the Portugal team, they would do a lot better without Ronaldo judging from the last match I watched, it was obvious Ronaldo should be a substitute and not a main choice for the match. Portugal has more promising stars than Argentina and they should do better, but sadly Ronaldo's presence is drawing them a step back, I still stand to be corrected after their next match.

The moment Messi scored 3 goals in his first game while Cristiano Ronaldo didn't score any in his first, the competition between them ceased to be fierce, and Messi became far ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo. This significant advantage for Messi will only increase in this World Cup. This is because it's very clear that Messi's skills are on a much higher level; that guy is very special, there's no way to compare Messi to any other player. Portugal needs to stop playing for Ronaldo to score goals and focus on winning the game. That's what will allow them to advance to the next stage.

Is it rage bait or something? You said he's one of your favorite players I'd like to hear about the others, I'm curious which ones they are. It's not based on just one game, Messi's performances are almost always above average, and some of his games are unlike any other player's. He continues his consistency and fully deserves the title of GOAT.

How do you mean by Messi's achievements isn't complete if he doesn't win the 2026 World Cup? Do you actually know who Messi is or the country he's playing for? Go and check which country won the 2022 world Cup, it's Argentina and which country is Messi playing for, it's the same Argentina, now what does that tell you, Argentina won the 2022 World Cup and it was all attributed to Messi who played alongside his national team members to achieve that..

Argentina are the defending champion for this seasons world Cup and even if they end up not winning the world Cup again, they've already won  it and this is a big achievement for Messi compared to  Ronaldo who is yet to win the world Cup.

Messi and Cristiano are just outstanding players who are unrivaled. Anyone would be amazed at their talent, after watching them play on the pitch. Such ability of playing is very rare. I am delighted that they are still playing so excellently, having become old.

If Ronaldo should make it to the next World Cup when he clicks 45 years of age should be determined by his physical fitness level and so far he’s 41 although he had a good season with his club Al nassr in the Saudi pro league and also was the second highest goal scorer in the league. Ronaldo have a good discipline in terms of his physical fitness, he tries to keep himself fit and train as much as he could, I wouldn’t be surprised if he is still there playing active football at 45 years of age, but like u said it all depends on his physical fitness, and secondly I doubt if any serious club will want to keep playing such person at such age in their football team. Ronaldo can be in the Portuguese team but not as a main player but as a motivator to them.

That's true bro. Messi is actually a good player indeed and time has proven that and even better. Messi has been a very lucky player right from when he kick started his football career at the very earlier stage of his life, however he hasn't experience a more serious injury that would have probably jeopardize his football career and also, he has connected and worked with great teams that I believe have also contributed immensely to the success is enjoying today. The guy has already made a name for himself and I'm so happy for him. However, another season is here and his fans are already expecting more from him which I believe is well to do any point in time.
