I don't think the game is built around him, he's too old and slow, even in his younger years he did little work and often ran less than all the other players. But that doesn't matter. I really hate the Argentina team and even with great odds I would never bet on them, just out of principle cause betting on them would mean I want them to win.
It's somehow always the same with them, dirty (hidden) fouls but complaining about the smallest things to the ref every single time. Not even talking about the ridiculous time wasting once they have even the smallest lead.

I don't think you hate the Argentina team, you only hate Messi with your entire being. Top stars are always at the patronage of referee that adore them, it's nothing new, although it was bad officiating not to award a card at least for that foul. It was more intense than the foul that got England Jarell Quansah a straight red card against Mexico. I least expected that kind of foul from Messi and I believe that even though the ref wanted to patronize him, a yellow card was very appropriate for that intentional foul.

That's not a very logical question. Look, just because there's bias and favoritism towards certain teams doesn't mean everyone is involved, right? In Balogun's case, the referee turned out to be honest (or rather, the VAR team, since after watching the VAR, the referee had no choice but to show a red card in that episode). Now, at the highest level, there is a scam involving "cancellation" of punishment, which is illegal even according to FIFA rules.
The worst thing is that this is a signal to everyone on how to act and in the future we will see even more lawlessness.
