I am just curious though, when we type the keyword “gambling news,” most of the news we see is about addiction. So if the coverage is mostly negative, then why does gambling still continue to become popular?

Maybe that kind of approach is not really being read by the people who need it, because if they read and understood those stories, it should help reduce gambling addiction. But based on what is happening, it does not seem to result in lower numbers.

I'll relate that in our culture, it's because they see someone who's won a lot and think that they'll also be the same as that guy. And with how difficult life is right now, everyone is desperate to continue gambling as a source of income, even if we've been telling everyone not to do it. That's desperation and many have heard of those stories of failures, and they won't stop. The numbers will only be lowered if someone really wants to change and don't want to gamble anymore or want to do it just for pleasure after experiencing that it's not a good source of income.

And whenever gambling is used as the best means of entertainment, people become more attracted to this gambling. However, currently the young generation is becoming more attracted to this gambling because they see this gambling advertisement through their mobile phones, they are quickly attracted to gambling. The advertisement is made in such a way that it seems that gambling is very easy and earning money from it is easy and fast, due to which the people of this generation are becoming more attracted to gambling and are also addicted to it.

Gambling is already innate to humans. It has been part of the human society since time immemorial. So I don't think we can just eradicate gambling in our lives. Despite of the negative consequences that it can bring to a gambling addict, still many people are getting hooked into this activity. Actually, gambling if done moderately will still give positive impact to the gambler. It will only be causing negative influence when the gambler doesn't know how to handle this activity.

You also need to consider something: most people out there believe those massive losses and addiction consequences cannot happen to them because they are "different" or have more self control over themselves than the average gambler, which is clearly a fallacy.

Gambling will continue to be profitable in the long run, I just think that what decreases is the casino that goes bankrupt because it is not easy to get visitors even though they have done their best to make players comfortable in the casino but that goes back to the players themselves.

There are lots of car accidents every year, and several people lose their lives while many other sustain injuries that possibly leaves them deformed for life, but has people stopped buying cars? Has people stopped driving cars? Has even those that don't own a car stopped entering cars? The answer to all of this questions is no, even those who don't own a car are praying and doing everything possible to make money and buy their favourite car, or maybe just afford any car at all for their personal reason.

Not only addiction news but also many of them focus on the negative side of gambling so why is gambling remain so popular? In my opinion, people use those stories in the media to shape their mindset so they don't end up like the people in the news. At the same time, they also want to take the opportunity that gambling offer to them where they can get the chance to change their lives.

The problem starts when people forget about the negative effects of gambling. There's always a chance that we could become one of those people in the news if we don't have proper self control. Who cares about what the mainstream media/ coverage whatever you call it, has to say? Maybe the algorithm shows those type of news to you because of what your initial searches were. There's another part of the web that shows regular wins, swift bonuses and easy registration with a referral link attached.
